- In 1967 during the height of The British Invasion, appeared as a guest performer at a local disco "The Chateau Pelham " in Bronx, New York City. He belted out his big hits such as "Quarter To Three" and "New Orleans" and to the surprise of many, his own powerful rendition of "Unchained Melody".
- His recording of "Quarter To Three" went all the way to #1 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart.
- Has one daughter, Laurie
- From 1961-1962 he continued his run of consecutive hits with "School Is Out" # 5, "School Is In" # 28, "Dear Lady Twist" # 9, "Twist Twist Senora" # 10 and "Seven Day Weekend" # 27.
