Pop queen Madonna had once allegedly stuck her tongue inside Hollywood actor Al Pacino’s ear when they first met back in the 1970’s according to her former roommate Whitley Hill. The ‘Material Girl’ hitmaker detailed the incident in her biography ‘Madonna: A Rebel Life’, which hit the bookshelves on October 12. In the book, Hill shared that her dad, Ed Setrakian, had introduced the ‘Godfather’ star to Madonna at dinner in New York City sometime between 1978 and 1979.
After Setrakian drove everyone home, Pacino allegedly said: “That friend of your daughter’s stuck her tongue in my ear. When we were driving home, she leaned over and stuck her tongue in my ear!”
According to Whitley, the actor also told her father Ed that Madonna called “attention to her mouth.” At that time, the ‘Papa Don’t Preach’ singer allegedly chewed gum in a “slow, deliberate manner,” in front of the actor,...

The other day, we discussed the fact that Tron: Legacy was tracking below expectations [1] and that it could earn as low as $35 million during its opening weekend (in line with that, HitFix [2] delivered a devastating review to the film this morning). Such an event would be a box office catastrophe that would consign Legacy to the same category of flops such as Ishtar, The Postman or the more recent Speed Racer. Disney has spent a colossal amount of money over the past three and a half years making and marketing this film. For it to be anything other than a smashing success would be an embarrassment to the company and a severe wake-up call for those managing its creative course. I have to say I'm fascinated by Tron: Legacy, both the fact of its existence and the question of how successful it will end up being. I always suspected that Legacy might be a disaster-in-the-making,...

Today, the Producer's Guild of America agreed to recognize the credit of "Transmedia Producer."
This long-overdue credit honors the contributions of producers of Alternate Reality Games (ARGs), Twitter-based series, Augmented Reality (Ar), online narratives, mobile apps and other multimedia experiences.
You could say that transmedia production originated with an Alternate Reality game called "Dreadnot," produced by sfgate.com in 1996. The film "AI," was supported by what was generally acknowledged to be the first smas...

Six years ago, after playing hooky from work on a Friday to watch the Best Golfer in the World play nine holes at Riviera Country Club, I wrote this about him for my company’s blog:
Tiger hit one shot that I will remember for a long time, one of the best I've ever seen: 220 yards from the green after an errant drive, out of deep rough, he hit a high draw inches to the right of a big tree 10 yards in front of him, inches to the left of two bigger trees 30 yards farther up, a couple of feet over a bunker fronting the green, to within 10 feet of the pin. People in the galle...

I entered the arena this week all snarky and snarling, as if awakening from a tryptophan coma. It didn't help when what was supposed to be an 11-minute hold Monday morning to solve a problem with Bank of America's online service turned into 45 minutes.
One must find a healthy outlet for one's darker moods, a way to vent. Yoga can lift the clouds. So can playing the guitar, a strenuous workout or a good long laugh.
Writing and the arts are good tonic, too -- creativity being a prime refuge for malcontents from the beginning of time. The caveperson who did the drawings on the ...
