Stormy Monday starring Melanie Griffith will be available on Blu-ray July 18th From Arrow Video
In 1988, Mike Figgis (Internal Affairs, Leaving Las Vegas) made his feature directorial debut with Stormy Monday, a taut, noir-influenced gangster movie that drew on his key formative influences, including his youth in the Newcastle of the late ’50s and early ’60s, and the city’s vibrant jazz scene.
Sean Bean (Ronin) plays Brendan, a young loafer taken under the wing of jazz club owner Finney (Sting, Quadrophenia), who’s under pressure from American mobster Cosmo (Tommy Lee Jones, The Fugitive) to sell up in exchange for a cut of a local land development deal. Brendan just wants to earn an honest crust, but his burgeoning relationship with Cosmo’s ex-lover Kate (Melanie Griffith, Body Double) threatens to drag him into the middle of the impending showdown…

Marvel has been peppering their movies with fun little Easter Eggs ever since they put a replica of Captain America's shield on Tony Stark's workbench in the first Iron Man. Since then some of them have been important, like the Infinity Gauntlet showing up in Odin's Trophy Room in Thor, and some have been irreverent, like Cosmo the space dog popping up in Guardians of the Galaxy. But perhaps none of them have been as highly specific and dang near impossible to spot than the Wolfram & Hart Easter Egg in Avengers: Age of Ultron. What makes this such a fun and true Easter Egg is that it has nothing to do with Marvel properties whatsoever. In Angel, Joss Whedon's spin-off series from his fantastic Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Wolfram & Hart is a lawfirm...

Marvel's Agents of Shield returns at 9/8c on Tuesday 23 September 2014 in the Us, and hopefully soon after in the UK. For fans of the first season, it's highly anticipated, particularly in terms of how the show will continue the gripping storylines established in the later part of the first season. So if you haven't seen the first season yet, be aware that spoilers follow.
Some of the show's marketing for Season 2 has been in the form of character posters, featuring each character's face along with “What will [he or she] become?”, and then telling us that we can find out on Tuesday 23 September.
Presumably this doesn't mean that the conclusion of each character's arc will be more or less instantaneous, happening simply in that one episode, but rather that, starting from the Season 2 premiere, these long-term character arcs that we've been following so closely will continue to unfurl.

Twenty years ago, "The Fugitive" debuted in theaters. It was a solid big-screen adaptation of the '60s TV series and made major bank at the box office with $369 million. It was also a critical smash and an awards-getter, a surprise for a movie based on a TV series.
Star Joe Pantoliano later recalled "I remember one day, me and Tommy Lee [Jones] were driving back to the airport after shooting, and he said something like 'It's not like any of us are going to win any Oscars for this!'"
How wrong you were, Mr. Jones! The film not only earned Jones a Best Supporting Actor Oscar, but it was also nominated for Best Picture and five other Academy Awards.
Though "The Fugitive" is a movie most of you have probably watched repeatedly, here are a few things you might not have known about the film.

Bill Clinton may have signed Doma when he was president, but he's adamant that it needs to be overturned. He admits it was a different time, but also that signing it wasn't something he wanted to do, but felt necessary to head off a constitutional amendment against marriage equality. "When I signed the bill, I included a statement with the admonition that 'enactment of this legislation should not, despite the fierce and at times divisive rhetoric surrounding it, be understood to provide an excuse for discrimination.' Reading those words today, I know now that, even worse than providing an excuse for discrimination, the law is itself discriminatory. It should be overturned."

In the new issue of Entertainment Weekly on stands Friday, we speak to the women behind the shows we love, and that includes The Vampire Diaries’ exec producer Julie Plec, who weaves an epic tale of vampire romance — and loneliness — with twists that make us gasp, swoon, and sob. Here, Plec, 40, shares how she went from TV fan to showrunner, where she gets her inspiration, who is her secret weapon, what she and Kevin Williamson were doing when they “met and fell in love,” and when they decided how Tvd would ultimately end.

Today the nominations for the 17th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards was released. The King’s Speech and The Fighter received the most nominations, with four each. Thankfully the Guild seems to know what they are doing unlike The Golden Globes who pretty much screwed up all the nominations.
The nominees here are usually a very strong indication of how the acting award nominees will play out at the Oscars. King’s Speech has long been an Oscar favourite, but David O. Russell’s The Fighter has gained considerable steam in the past few weeks. Last year, 19 out of 20 SAG nominees went to the Oscars as well so you can be sure that The Fighter and King’s Speech will get a best picture nomination. The 17th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will be simulcast live on TNT and TBS on January 20th. See the complete list below.

The Screen Acors Guild has released their award nominations for their upcoming 17th annual award ceremony, which will take place on January 30, 2011.
There are some great nominations here. My favorite picks include Christian Bale for his role in The Fighter, Natalie Portman in her role in Black Swan, and Jesse Eisenberg for his role in The Social Network. As much as I love most of these films, I'm surprised that Inception is no where to be seen. That was one of the best films of the year and it seems to be escaping a lot of the nominations in all the award ceremonies this year.

Okay, totally kidding about the Colfer Lifetime Achievement Award thing - that will be going to Ernest Borgnine. But does it seem to you that the kid who plays Kurt Hummel is getting an awful lot of awards season love? (And wouldn't McHale's Navy have been so much better with him in it?)
The latest outpouring of Colfer acclaim comes from the Screen Actors Guild who announced their 17th annual SAG nominees this morning.
The Glee cast is up for a comedy ensemble award, but Colfer was the only cast member other than Jane Lynch to be recognized individually. And given who he's up against he's almost certain to be the frontrunner!
Another bit of good news for a Glbt favorite, The Kids Are All Right, scored individual acting nods for Annete Bening, Mark Rufallo, and also a nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Cast.

The complete list of nominations for the 17th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards follows below. The ceremony will be held on January 30th, 2011.
Nothing really to highlight here, unfortunately. SAG voters apparently didn’t care for Halle Berry’s performance as much as the Golden Globes did, because she’s not on this list. And neither is Idris Elba, who was also nominated for a Golden Globe. The cast of For Colored Girls got no love either.
The significance here is that SAG nominees and winners are voted on by members of the union – essentially, their peers.
But one thing that should be obvious by now is that the Oscar race is going to come down to 4 films and the performances in those films: The Social Network, Black Swan, The King’s Speech, and The Fighter. I still have to see the last 2.

Eli Roth, the director of Hostel and the dude who bashed in Nazis heads in Inglourious Basterds, will produce two more sure-to-be unsettling films. According to Deadline, he’s working on Aftershock, a thriller based on the February 2010 Chilean earthquake, and Clown, a film about a man who becomes consumed by an evil clown costume. First-timer Jon Watts will direct Clown, based on a fake trailer he and a colleague put together that caught Roth’s eye. Check it out.

The IMDb250. A list of the top 250 films as ranked by the users of the biggest Internet movie site on the web. It is based upon the ratings provided by the users of the Internet Movie Database, which number into the millions. As such, it’s a perfect representation of the opinions of the movie masses, and arguably the most comprehensive ranking system on the Internet.
It’s because of this that we at HeyUGuys (and in this case we is myself and Barry) have decided to set ourselves a project. To watch and review all 250 movies on the list. We’ve frozen the list as of January 1st of this year. It’s not as simple as it sounds, we are watching them all in one year, 125 each.
This is our 40th update, my next five films watched for the project. You can find all our previous week’s updates here.

Ruben: “Skinny models are very unnatural, and severly unhealthy. However, those Angel models are what catergorize as fitness models. Looking good is not a by-product of super hero talents.
