She adopted the name 'Bronhill' (a contraction of the name of her home
town 'Broken Hill') in gratitude for the financial help help given by
the people of the town towards her operatic career.
She was awarded the Sydney Sun Aria contest in 1950.
She sung with the Australian Opera, the Victorian State Opera and the
State Opera of South Australia.
She was an Australian Opera singer.
She sang in operas, operettas and musicals.
She sang with the Sadler's Wells Opera Company in England (the forerunner of the of the English National Opera).
Retired in 1993
She was treated for breast cancer.
She was awarded the OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) in the 1977 Queen's New Years Honours List for his services to the performing arts.
