Time is a precious thing. We’re all at the mercy of its perpetual rhythm and are helpless against its march toward oblivion. Still, what if someone invented a device to help you change the past? What would you do if you could return to nearly a minute before you made a critical mistake? What’s to stop you from succeeding at everything you do? Can you resist the urge to undo every misstep along your life’s journey? Franklin Fausti is about to find out in the new 57 Seconds trailer.

Dumped to VOD with little to no fanfare by its distributors, Eagle and the Albatross is one of those direct to market films I would unreservedly call a hidden gem. One whose trailer, thankfully (given thats the Only marketing I’ve seen for the film) had me sold straight away!
The film debut of K-pop star Amber Liu, Eagle and the Albatross tells the story of orphaned halfKorean girl, Ji-min, who finds herself in small town America with her only living relative. A fish out of water, Ji-min seeks out a mentor to help with the only thing she loves – golf. The best player in town, the widowed optometrist, takes her under his wing,...

Briefly: In advance of any film festival debut, Fox Searchlight has acquired and announced a release date for Steve McQueen's Twelve Years a Slave, starring Chiwetel Ejiofor (Serenity, Kinky Boots, Children of Men, American Gangster, Salt) as Solomon Northup, a man living in New York during the mid-1800s who is kidnapped and sold into slavery in the deep south. The film has an incredible ensemble cast, with Brad Pitt, Michael Fassbender, Beasts nom Quvenzhané Wallis, Dwight Henry, Paul Giamatti, Sarah Paulson, Michael K. Williams and Marcus Lyle Brown. They've scheduled it for a release on December 27th, 2013, which bodes well for an awards push after very likely many film festival premieres.

Nicolas Cage’s “Stolen” used to be called “Medallion”, but perhaps they didn’t want to confuse the film with the Jackie Chan movie from 2003, and changed the title. Either way, it’s a blah title, and the first sales art/poster for the movie is equally blah. It’s Nicolas Cage running from an exploding car. That’s overturned. That’s … pretty much the film’s selling point, I guess. If, you know, you’re a Nicolas Cage fanatic. In “Stolen”, Cage plays an ex-thief who is (of course) pulled back into the business when bad guys kidnap his daughter, stuffs her into the trunk of a taxi, and forces him to pull one last job … or else! Oh, the one last job gag. It’s as eternal as TV shows about cops and doctors and lawyers. Cage co-stars with Josh Lucas, Danny Huston, Mark Valley, Sami Gayle, M.C. Gainey,...

“This jumpy horror yarn (headlined by Corin Nemec and Charisma Carpenter) takes you on the journey with a group of reality television ghost hunters as they get trapped in a haunted plantation home. Their initial attempt for creating an entertaining reality show soon becomes a lot darker than anticipated. Through their attempt to uncover the many secrets in this haunted house, they become convinced that they are not only in the presence of the dead but surrounded by evil, supernatural activity. As fleeting spirits are spotted, fear becomes apparent. Crew members start going missing, objects around are disappearing and the house itself feels alive. It seems the crew’s only hope of survival is to unlock the mysteries of the plantation’s dark past…...

Texas Killing Fields Trailer. Ami Canaan Mann‘s Texas Killing Fields (2011) movie trailer stars Sam Worthington, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Chloe Moretz, Jessica Chastain, and Stephen Graham. Texas Killing Fields’ plot synopsis: “Texas Killing Fields follows a homicide detective in a small Texan town and his partner, a transplanted cop from NYC, as they track a serial killer dumping his victims’ mutilated bodies in a nearby marsh locals call ‘The Killing Fields’”.
I pieced together from this trailer *spoiler begins* that Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s character uses Chloe Moretz’s character off-the-books as bait for the serial killer and the serial killer takes it (her) *spoiler ends*. That is just conjecture on my part but from this movie trailer I think that is what happens. This film could be good, certainly better than languid Small Town Murder Songs.
Texas Killing Fields also stars Jason Clarke, Annabeth Gish, Sheryl Lee, Leanne Cochran,...

So the day has come for you folks to take home Costas Mandylor in the final chapter of the phenomenon that is Saw! Well, at least until the inevitable reboot. Even cooler...if the jolly red-suited fatman brought you a 3D television last month, you can watch this puppy in its gory 3D glory, too.
Another franchise that is buzzing this week is the video game sequel, Dead Space 2. In addition to the game itself, you can also bring home the collector's edition, the album soundtrack, a hardcover game guide, and an animated DVD movie. That should keep you busy for a while.
Oh yeah, there are a couple of other interesting titles with some familiar faces from "True Blood", "Angel", "Buffy", and even "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman".
