If you were gay and a kid in the ’90s, you were lucky to have Nickelodeon on the tube. Not only did the classic kids network dish out quirky shows that hold up well (particularly The Adventures of Pete & Pete), but it gave you bizarre, unconventional, one-of-a-kind characters who could be your friends, no matter how ridiculous or cartoonish they were. Sometimes, Nick’s characters were seemingly tailor-made for gay audience acceptance, and that’s why we’re assembled here today in this blessed Pride month: to remember 25 of Nickelodeon’s ’90s heroes (in the pre-Spongebob era) who guided us through childhood like Kirk Fogg ushering Purple Parrots past Temple Guards.
25. Petunia, The Adventures of Pete & Pete
Sure, she was just a tattoo, but she wiggled! Scandalously! Gorgeously! Distantly. Little Pete’s mermaid tattoo was the slacker ’90s kid take on Veronica Lake.

A Summer of Love campaign has been launched in the name of marriage equality. Advocates in Oregon are aiming to convince residents to support the 2014 marriage equality ballot initiative.
Our bisexual blonde Jane Kerkovich-Williams (played by actress Eliza Coupe) won’t be able to explore any more of her past lady-lovin relationships because her cancelled ABC show Happy Endings is not getting picked up by USA Networks. Rumors are swirling that the show might go elsewhere but things don’t look promising. Is it too soon for a R.I.P. Janey?

Plus Dan Savage Humanist of the Year, Roy Hibbert’s “no homo” moment, Will Smith’s After Earth bombs
The Indiana Pacers’ Roy Hibbert is in hot water after using “no homo” in a press conference. Specifically, he said “I really felt that I let Paul down in terms of having his back when LeBron was scoring in the post or getting to the paint, because they stretched me out so much. No homo.” Which begs the question, how does he jump from “stretched out” to “no homo?” He’s since issued a fairly standard apology that probably means nothing.
While being questioned about holding the World Cup in Qatar, a country that outlaws homosexuality, FIFA President Sepp Blatter said “What you are speaking about, I do not think it is part of racism, perhaps this is going into ethics and morals. This, I think, is not the time being to bring it now.

Stephen Baldwin aided a woman suffering from a seizure last week at New York's Peninsula Hotel, according to the New York Daily News.
The news source reports that the actor, 46, was having a meeting with his publicist Brad Taylor in the hotel's bar when they heard a "loud bang" from across the room, which turned out to be a woman who had fallen on the floor.
"It was pretty violent," Baldwin said of the convulsions that ensued. The woman reportedly was foaming at the mouth.
According to the news source, other patrons ignored the event while Baldwin rushed to her side. The woman, whose identity has not been revealed, is reported to be "a regular at the bar" and has seizures "all the time."
"I held her hand and said a few prayers," said Baldwin, an Evangelical Christian. "I wanted to make sure the young lady was okay and her breathing wasn't restricted."

She is expected to clear up the confusion surrounding pregnancy announcements she made in January - the colourful star looked nothing like a four-month-pregnant mum-to-be when she launched her new album with concerts recently.
And her new publicist, Brad Taylor, has confirmed his client is no longer with child.
He tells WENN, "She's not pregnant. There were medical complications."
Tequila announced she was pregnant in January and prompted fears for her wellbeing and the welfare of her unborn baby a month later following a fall at her Los Angeles home.
The pin-up was admitted to hospital on 13 February after hitting her head in the tumble.
In a panicked post on her Twitter.com blog, Tequila wrote, "I just fell off of my chair, slammed my head into the wall and heard the back of my skull crack. There's a dent in it now!"
She added, "Ambulance on the way to my house. I could have a brain concussion and die in a few hours."
She was diagnosed with a concussion and sent home, where she returned to Twitter.com to express fears about her baby's health after experiencing pains in her stomach.
In a series of bizarre blog posts, she wrote, "I just woke up in the middle of the night cuz (sic) I'm having these intense sharp pains in my belly... Something is definitely wrong. The hospital gave me a list of symptoms (of miscarriage) & this is one of them."
She then posted messages about taking her own life, writing, "I told my friend I would just kill myself if anything ever happened."
But she decided against calling emergency services and signed off with another note explaining she would try and sleep off the pain before boarding a flight to Australia.
Her new publicist has refused to go into details about the "medical complications" that ended Tequila's pregnancy, but added, "She's very healthy and going out."...

Actor Stephen Baldwin's publicist is fighting off reports The Usual Suspects star is struggling to save his home as he battles for survival in the jungle on U.S. TV show I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!
Last week (ends12Jun09), Internet reports suggested Baldwin's New York home was to be auctioned off by authorities after the actor defaulted on more than $824,000 (£549,330) in outstanding mortgage payments.
Documents filed in Rockland County appeared to show the Hollywood star and his wife Kennya had been missing repayments to finance firm Bankers Trust Co.
But the 43 year old's legal and financial woes have been blown out of proportion, according to his rep Brad Taylor, who insists talk about a 24 June auction is incorrect.
He tells People.com, "Stephen is presently going through a legal situation regarding his mortgage and that situation is still in process. No auction will be happening and all things related to this matter are being handled by his legal representation."...
