Jesse Camp is speaking out after he was reported missing last month. In a new interview, the former MTV VJ assures fans that he "didn't mean to scare everyone." In fact, he calls the whole situation a "misunderstanding." "Honestly, it was just some really bad communication and I had some phone problems. I had some really good friends that tweeted about it and then it sort of took on a life of its own," he shared with Daily Mail. "I was really only missing for two or three days but then it became this big Internet thing." Just last month, Riverside Police confirmed to E! News that Jesse's sister Marisha Camp reported him missing. The family had not heard from Jesse in...

Riverside, Calif., police are currently investigating the disappearance of former MTV video jockey Josiah Camp, better known as Jesse Camp.
Officer Ryan J. Railsback, a spokesman with the Riverside Police Department, confirmed to Variety that Camp was reported missing by his sister, Mariah, on July 19 after he failed to respond to calls from herself and other family members, which, according to her, is unusual.
Though he does not live in Riverside, Camp was known to frequent the town and surrounding areas, and was apparently last seen there. Though his sister noted that Camp “might have been a little bit depressed lately,” Railsback said, other behavior that might have contributed to his disappearance was not specified.
Mariah Camp also went on social media to request help in finding Jesse. In an Instagram story titled “Sos!!!!,” she wrote, “If anyone has seen or heard from my brother Jesse since Saturday, please, please,...

Jesse Camp won over many hearts when he was a contestant on MTV's Wanna Be a VJ, but today you might not recognize him. Page Six caught up with the former MTV star, who won the competition in 1998, and allowed him to give his version of a gossip report. Camp, who once wowed fans with his wild hair and painted nails, is still rocking his long hair but this time it drapes past his shoulders instead of gelled straight up like he used to. In the video, Camp tries to report on some of TV's most notable morning show hosts. "Get this: Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg seen sharing a Cobb salad over at Spago's Uptown. What does it mean? Could the two View co-hosts be back in cahoots? Who knows?" He...

Reality TV changed forever back in 1992, when MTV premiered the first season of "The Real World."Before it became a debaucherous series filled with alcohol-induced hot tub make out sessions and over-the-top brawls, the show was a social experiment that tackled everything from race to sexuality in a way that hadn't really been done before for young audiences. With Season 30 making its debut on the network last night (yes, 30!), three stars from the show's first season returned to their now-infamous loft 22 years later.Heather B., Norman Korpi and Julie Gentry reunited for this Sunday's "Oprah: Where Are They Now?," airing Sunday, December 21 at 9pm Et/Pt on Own: Oprah Winfrey Network.MTV VJ Jesse Camp Resurfaces -- See Him Now!"We shot this show for 13 weeks. Wanna be a memoirist? Dave Holmes is showing how it's done. The former MTV VJ has inked a deal with Crown Archetype to pen his autobiography. Holmes will recount the painful and frequently hilarious story of his adolescence and subsequent career in TV in a memoir tentatively titled Party of One. In 1998, an unknown Holmes became a familiar face to a generation of American teens after placing second to space-case Jesse Camp in MTV's first Wanna Be a VJ contest. With his affable ease in front of the camera and quick wit, Holmes went on to become a fixture

Oversized bow ties, smocks and capes… Some of these stars missed the memo on basic fashion no’s. And whoever thought breastfeeding was the hot, new red carpet accessory was seriously mistaken.
Khloe Kardashian seems to have forgotten what month it is after she was seen channeling her St. Patty’s look this week. British TV personality Fern Cotton looks like she got dressed in the dark once the cameras stopped rolling. Jesse Camp was MTV’s first, but certainly not most stylish VJ, and there’s more where that came from at this week’s MuchMusic Awards.
Check out our gallery to see which stars chose getups that made us shake our heads with disappointment. Some fashion choices this week displayed Tmi (hint: you may see a nipple… with a baby on it) or not enough (art smocks should be worn in the classroom Only).

Remember this guy?Jesse Camp shot to fame in 1998 when he auditioned for and won MTV's "Wanna Be a VJ," a reality competition where music lovers vied for a hosting gig on "Total Request Live."His fame was short-lived, however, as he was replaced by Season 2 winner Thalia DaCosta a year later ... and his runner-up, Dave Holmes, ended up being more popular with both fans and the network in the long run.He then fell into obscurity, popping up at a few random events through the years and at the big finale of "Trl" in 2008.But last night, the 34-year-old (yes, he's only 34) returned to the limelight as he hit the red carpet for a "Free the Nipple" fundraiser hosted by Russell Simmons.Sporting shoulder-length hair, a couple scarves, an all-black outfit and brown cowboy boots, he's definitely tamed his look a little ... but proved that he and his rocker style are still alive.

She met Prince and embarked on a short-lived singing career, but her big break came hosting MTV's "Singled Out."Carmen would later appear in many films, mostly relying upon her looks and sense of humor. Beyoncé's baby is already working his or her magic! (We're all hoping for "her," right?) While the celebrity spawn has yet to even leave the womb, it has already been at the center of the spectacle known as the 2011 Video Music Awards, which, it turns out, happened to be the most-watched thing MTV's ever done, ever. Ever! The broadcast drew in a record-setting, history-making, Jo Calderone-despiting 12.4 million viewers. To help put that in perspective, here are some notable moments from MTV's thirty-year history that were seen by fewer 12.4 million people, if any at all: Singled Out That one episode of Real World: Seattle where the black guy slaps the white girl with Lyme Disease in the face Kurt Loder All those Korn videos on Total Request Live Jersey Shore The first VJ competition where the ignoble Jesse Camp defeated that nice-looking guy whose [...]...

Today is MTV’s 30th birthday, and the good folks at EW.com have asked me to say a few words. Turn up your computer speakers and listen to our story, won’t you?
As you’re aware, MTV premiered 30 years ago today. As you’re aware if you’re old, MTV took a while to go nationwide. The prevailing wisdom, as I recall it, was that such a thing could never catch on. The idea of a 24-hour music-video channel was tantalizing for the youth of the early ‘80s, and the wait for the cable systems in St. Louis to carry it was excruciating.

Ricky Gervais will have a role on the next season of Curb Your Enthusiasm. HBO is also considering picking up the funnyman’s live-action pilot Life’s Too Short. Yes, it is, so I will watch this clip again. Because it’s still funny the 395th time. [Variety]
MTV is searching for its first Twitter Jockey, a “social media maven” who will “serve as a liaison between viewers and network honchos.” Five people will be chosen as finalists, and fans will choose the winner during a live show Aug. 8. If there’s a God, then Jesse Camp is landing this gig.

Trl had its final moments last night with a show bringing back the biggest stars who ever stopped by the Times Square studio. Beyonce kicked it off with a performance that included the classic "Crazy in Love" but sadly no Jay-z cameo. Carson Daly returned for the show, as did Diddy, who made the most appearances of any celebrity. Justin stopped by to make fun of his frosted tips while Kid Rock smoked his cigar all throughout his performance. Of course, the streets were crowded with one last group of screaming fans that got to watch Fall Out Boy (without Pete Wentz) perform to help complete the show. Even Jesse Camp stopped by with Wanna Be a VJ runner up David Holmes. After a little more than ten years on the air, they counted down its most crucial videos of its history ending with Britney's ". . .Baby One More Time" at No.
