Sundance Channel‘s latest original non-fiction series is Loredana, Esq, a six-episode hourlong that traces the life of Loredana Nesci, a former Lapd officer-turned-lawyer as she navigates the criminal defense system and grapples with the question: What is legal and what is right? The series, from Go Go Luckey Prods, is in production and slated to premiere in March. After earning a reputation as a legal crusader, Nesci cultivated a thriving law practice where she defends those who sorely need it — not hardened criminals, just regular people, some of whom may have made bad choices and find themselves judged and condemned. This series dives into one defense attorney’s unconventional and potent passion for discovering the truth and doing what she thinks needs to be done. Go Go Luckey’s Julie Auerbach, Henry Capanna, Tina Gazzerro, Sandy Guthrie, Laura Keats and Robert Misseri executive produce; Nicole Defusco and Jon Grosskopf produce for Sundance.

AMC continues to expand its reality footprint by picking up two new unscripted series — Untitled Taxidermy Series and Venice Beach Freakshow (working title). Both series have been picked up for 8 episodes to premiere in first quarter of 2013. They join Kevin Smith’s Comic Book Men and Talking Dead, which have been renewed for second seasons, and the network’s most recent unscripted series, Small Town Security, now on the air. Additionally, AMC announced that The Pitch, its unscripted series chronicling advertising agencies as they prepare campaigns to try and win a major new account, which recently finished its freshman run, is being picked up for a second cycle. While the focus has been on AMC’s strong scripted lineup, the cable network for the past couple of years quietly has been building a reality roster and actually has more unscripted than scripted series at its disposal right now.
