Danny Dyer has posted a “hilarious” video to Instagram reassuring EastEnders fans not to worry about the fate of his character, Mick Carter.
During the Christmas special of EastEnders (25 December), Dyer left the soap after nine years of playing the role.

In the episode, Mick, along with his current wife, Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) and ex-wife Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), ends up at the port of Dover after a dramatic car chase.
Mick is seen diving off the white cliffs of Dover into the English Channel to rescue Janine and Linda.
The episode ends as Mick fails to re-emerge from the sea, while Janine and Linda find safety on the shore. In the following episode (26 December), search parties sent out by the Coastguard cannot find him.

Danny Dyer has reflected on his initial casting in EastEnders, saying the show’s producer “took a risk” on him, as he waves goodbye to the soap after nine years.

BBC’s EastEnders has honoured Queen Elizabeth II in a touching tribute, following her death last week.
The monarch died at Balmoral on Thursday 8 September at the age of 96. You can follow along here for updated news about the Queen’s death.
At the beginning of the British soap’s latest episode – which aired tonight (12 September) – Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), Denise Fox (Diane Parish), and Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) all gathered in The Queen Vic to celebrate the monarch’s extraordinary life.
“God bless her,” Kathy began, with Denise realising: “She’s been there our whole lives – it’s like she’s everything I’ve ever known.”
“We’ve all lost our nan,” Linda added. “She dedicated her entire life to serving us.”
The three women went on to exchange memories of the Queen, including when the now King Charles III and his wife Camilla, visited EastEnders for the June 2022 Platinum Jubilee.
