We've been waiting a long time for Seal Team Season 7, but fans who never followed the series to Paramount+ have been waiting much longer to watch Seal Team Season 5.
With CBS opting to air Seal Team Season 5 in its entirety, we thought it'd be a good idea to look back at the first four seasons so that you're all ready to go when the series returns to CBS.
The good news? Unlike Yellowstone, there should be minimal cuts as Seal Team touches back down on CBS.
Thanks to international agreements, the show didn't change much when it became a Paramount+ original series in 2021.
The Team is In Mourning
There were plenty of emotional developments on Seal Team Season 4, which ended with the tragic news that Scott Carter, aka Full Metal, had died.
The sad news broke on Seal Team Season 4 Episode 16, which put many things into perspective for the remaining team members.

Exclusive: As timely bookings go, this one is unimpeachable: HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher will kick off its 18th season next Friday with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi as the first guest.
Pelosi will be the top-of-the-show guest on Jan. 17 for the season premiere of Maher’s show, which originates in Los Angeles and airs live on the East Coast at 10p.m. Et with a West Coast rebroadcast at 10 p.m. Pt. The appearance will come on the heels of Thursday’s scheduled House vote on a War Powers Resolution authored by Democrats.
First elected to Congress in 1987, Pelosi has led House Democrats since 2004. In January, the San Francisco politician became the first female Speaker of the House making her the highest-ranking female elected official in U.S. history and third in line for the presidency.

Bill Maher has made a career out of vivid insults and fearless political putdowns but the HBO star said Friday night that watching the nation’s political divides deepen is making him reconsider the language of his comedy.
On the season finale of Real Time with Bill Maher, the host used the show’s concluding commentary to extol the principles of political tolerance — and to express his genuine anxieties that the current path of politics is leading toward “a sh*tstorm” for the country.
“Lately we’ve been hearing more and more about a second civil war which sounds impossible in this modern, affluent country,” Maher said “It is not…when both sides believe the other guy taking over is the end of the world, yes, you can have a civil war.”
At one point in the show-ending monologue, Maher listed some salty pejoratives used to bait the left and the right,...

Bill Maher closed out the 500th episode of his HBO series Real Time with Bill Maher with a bruising appraisal of the Democratic Party’s feckless options for 2020 and a point-by-point explanation of why there is one (and only one) “sure-thing winner” for the opposition party: Oprah Winfrey.
“I am telling you, at this particular moment in history and in this particular election year, she is the only candidate who is a sure-thing winner for the Democrats,” Maher said, adding as an aside: “No pressure.”
Maher noted several times that he wasn’t urging Winfrey to run (he said that would be for others to do) and he expressed doubts that she would ever enter the race. And, with more exasperation than excitement, Maher explained that Winfrey’s media position and her stature with women are among the reasons she could take the White House from President Donald J. Trump.

The namesake host of HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher has some rules for the Democratic Party to memorize as they ramp up for a 2020 rematch with President Donald J. Trump. “I want all Democrats to memorize these two words: Message Discipline,” Maher said with the tones of a weary teacher addressing a remedial class. “Republicans win for two reasons: teamwork and cheating. And they’re really good at both.”
The 2020 presidential race, the Mueller Report, and the ongoing Trumpifcation of the national conversation were meaty topics for the night’s episode although the most memorable gag was directed at Roy Moore of Alabama and the legal limits that affect his viability as a elected public servant. “It looks like even if Roy Moore won, he would not be able to serve his term,” Maher said, “because the Senate is within one mile of a school.”

Could the constitutional crisis gripping Washington represent an attack on Democracy? It certainly seemed plausible tonight watching HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher, a show hosted by a human air-raid siren of the same name. Maher’s monologue went early and often to the Washington showdown over the Mueller report and the now-sprawling political subplots that lead back to it.
“I know, It’s very exciting when you have a constitutional crisis,” Maher deadpanned about the hyped-up audience. “We’re so f—-ed. I’m telling you, we’re so f—ed. Today, Venezuela put us on the travel advisory. If America were a summer blockbuster it would be Democracy: Endgame. If you missed the earlier installments of this franchise…”

One can only imagine what Bill Maher and Scott Carter, his longtime executive producer-writer, talk about when the subject of religion comes up. For his first full-length play, the honcho behind “Real Time With Bill Maher” ruminates on the afterlife without God in “The Gospel According to Thomas Jefferson, Charles Dickens and Count Leo Tolstoy: Discord,” which opened Sunday under the auspices of Primary Stages at the Cherry Lane Theatre. Carter has structured “Discord” around not one but three stabs at writing the gospel. Who knew that Jefferson, Dickens and Tolstoy each wrote a gospel, and as they belatedly discover,...

The Writers Guild of America has just announced the nominations for their annual awards for Best Screenplays (by writers who are guild signatories). That’s right, before you get nervous thinking that your favorite may have been left off the list, you must remember that the WGA is the group that is not all-inclusive and leaves out several of the top contenders each year due to them not being part of the guild or not following their very specific rules. For this reason, you won’t see Inside Out, The Hateful Eight, and Ex Machina in the Original Screenplay category or Room, Brooklyn, or Anomalisa in the Adapted screenplay category.
Taking a look at what’s left over for the nominations, we find many that were expected to make a showing, including Spotlight and Bridge of Spies for Original Screenplay, though they apparently had to sink to really low depths...

Movies made by women directors were snubbed by the Producers Guild of America when they announced the nominees today! Both "Selma" by Ava DuVernay and "Unbroken" by Angelina Jolie were left in the dust. I agree with not nominating the latter movie (sorry Ms. Jolie but "Unbroken" is too earnest for my taste) but "Selma" deserved a nod! It's a profound movie aided by DuVernay's skilled directing and David Oyelowo's fine performance as Martin Luther King Jr.
You know who I'm blaming for this? Paramount! The studio did not send screeners to Academy voters. Heck, they did not sent one to us, the Broadcast Film Critics Association. But after begging, they did send a link so I could watch "Selma" in time for our Critics' Choice Movie Award nominations.
"Selma" is a "late to the party" entry that is gaining momentum dashed by the PGA! If you remember, Clint Eastwood...

The Producers Guild of America (PGA) added to the industry mix Monday morning with a list of 10 nominees to keep the awards season grist mill churning. "Gone Girl" popped up again, and it shouldn't be a surprise. It's one of the year's biggest hits. And speaking of hits, I had a hunch "Nightcrawler" would find a place after becoming such a well-liked, profitable success. There it sits. The question for both of these films is whether this on-going industry/guild love ends up translating to Oscar recognition. After the "Dragon Tattoo" rush a few years ago, I'm pretty much wait-and-see on stuff like this. Absent from the list was anything out of the Marvel Studios comic book factory, notable as both "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" were both on the top tier of box office earners in 2014. The former currently maintains the throne, though it...

The Writers Guild of America announced the TV nominees for the 2015 WGA Awards on Thursday (December 4) morning and several new shows broke into the fields in a big way. And, of course, there were a number of big WGA Award nomination head-scratchers. Specifically, where the heck was FX's "Fargo"? The answer is below. Making perhaps the biggest splash was "Transparent," which earned three nominations and, since "Orange Is The New Black" earned two nods and "House of Cards" pick up one, that meant that Amazon Prime and Netflix are, at least for one award-giving organization, on equal footing as creators of original programming. The Jill Soloway-created "Transparent" is nominated for New Series, where it will go against "The Affair," "The Knick," "Silicon Valley" and "True Detective." "Transparent" and "Silicon Valley" are also up for Comedy Series, going against "Louie," "Veep" and "Orange Is The New Black." Lest you panic...

12 Years A Slave and Gravity have tied at this year’s PGA. With American Hustle taking the SAG ensemble on Saturday night, we have a bonafide Best Picture race on our hands folks! This is the first tie for the top film in Producers Guild Award history.
The PGA split keeps the Oscar race wide open in one of the tightest three-way battles in years, with “American Hustle” still in the game following a week of big showings at the Golden Globes, Oscar nominations and Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Tonight the Producers Guild of America (PGA) announced this year’s winning motion picture and television productions at the 25th Annual Producers Guild Awards ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.

Plenty of groups give out awards for excellence in film and television at the end of every year, but no set of nominations is watched more carefully by Oscar predictors than the picks from the Producers Guild. That’s because year after year their choices end up being a fairly good indicator of which films will also be granted Best Picture nominations when the Academy makes their selections.
The Guild has announced their 2014 nominations today and there aren’t really any major surprises here. All the expected films are present, including 12 Years A Slave, American Hustle, Captain Phillips, Gravity, Her and The Wolf Of Wall Street. Animated films that nabbed nominations are The Croods, Despicable Me 2, Epic, Frozen and Monsters University. Included in the documentary nominations are A Place at the Table, Far Out Isn’t Far Enough: The Tomi Ungerer Story, Life According to Sam, We Steal Secrets: The Story of Wikileaks...

The Producers Guild of America has accurately forecast the last six Best Picture Oscar winners, so it was good news for 10 films that were nominated today for the PGA’s Darryl F. Zanuck Award. While Gravity, 12 Years a Slave, and American Hustle were among the films that made the cut, Inside Llewyn Davis, The Butler, and Fruitvale Station did not. Last year, eight of the 10 movies that received nods from the PGA went on to earn Oscar nominations for Best Picture.

Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul were upset in their respective acting categories, but Breaking Bad won the night’s top prize, taking home its first Emmy for Best Drama. It was an unpredictable night in several major categories: In addition to The Newsroom’s Jeff Daniels taking home the trophy for Best Actor in a Drama and Boardwalk Empire’s Bobby Cannavale winning for Supporting Actor, Veep’s Tony Hale and Nurse Jackie’s Merritt Wever were surprise winners — Wever was so shocked that she practically ran off the stage without delivering an acceptance speech.

Cari Lynn is an AwardsLine contributor. Ah, to be victorious—at losing. Susan Lucci was famous for it. So was Angela Lansbury. But the dubious crown of distinction now graces Bill Maher, host and executive producer of HBO’s Real Time With Bill Maher, the reigning champ with 29 Primetime Emmy nominations and 0 wins. Both Real Time (15 total Emmy noms, 0 wins) and its predecessor, ABC’s Politically Incorrect (8 variety series noms, 0 wins), have garnered noms every single year they’ve been on the air, going back to 1995. But they’re in good losing company. In what’s become an odd phenomenon in the variety series category, Real Time annually goes neck and neck with Comedy Central’s The Daily Show With Jon Stewart and the newer fake newsguy, The Colbert Report (which also has received consecutive nominations since 2006)—only to see The Daily Show sweep the Emmys for a solid decade.

Oh yes it still hurts that Ben Affleck was not given a Best Director Oscar nomination, yet his fantastic film "Argo" continues its ascension to Oscar glory! The film took home the top prize at the Producers Guild of America Awards taking home the Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures.
So guess which film will win the Oscar Best Picture? Yup, it will be "Argo!" Why? Well, Hollywood really loves movies about them and "Argo" is about a movie of a fake movie in order to help free some Americans trapped in Iran during the hostage crisis.
And, the PGA award is a significant Academy Awards precursor. Only seven times in 24 years has the PGA winner failed to win a Best Picture Oscar. So "Argo" has a strong chance.
I'm also happy that "Searching for Sugar Man" won the Documentary category, and not so happy...

The Producers Guild of America has announced its nominations for best productions of the year, in what is often looked to as an indicator for how the Academy Awards may go.
The guild selected 10 films — most of them common guesses for the group that could make up the Oscar list of the best films of 2012: Argo, Lincoln, Les Misérables, among others.
The one surprise: Skyfall. No 007 film has ever cracked the Best Picture list, but if this nomination is any indication, that could change when the Oscar nods are revealed Jan. 10.

The word "restrained" doesn't often fit into analysis of Jerry Lewis' film career, but in Hook, Line and Sinker, a 1969 black comedy, the legendary funnyman is indeed restrained, as least in comparison to most of the characters he played. The film is an unusual entry from this period of Lewis' film work in that he did not direct the movie. Instead, George Marshall, an old hand at helming diverse films, took on that responsibility. There isn't much discernible difference in the end result and one could easily be forgiven if they were to assume that Lewis directed. He has a boring but steady 9 to 5 job as an insurance salesman, a pretty wife (Anne Francis), two polite children, a comfortable home and a devoted best friend, Scott Carter (Peter Lawford), who also...

"Real Time With Bill Maher" will be sticking around HBO for at least two more seasons. Michael Lombardo, president of programming at HBO, made the announcement Tuesday.
The renewal for Seasons 11 and 12 will keep Maher's series on the network through 2014 and is part of Maher's new three-year deal with HBO.
"Bill Maher's irreverent wit and fearless insights make him the perfect observer for these unpredictable times," Lombardo said in a statement. "I'm delighted that we can continue to offer an uncensored forum for his original and thoughtful humor."

Maher serves as an executive producer on the series along with Scott Carter, Sheila Griffiths, Brad Grey, Marc Gurvitz and Billy Martin and Nancy Geller. Dean E. Johnsen is a producer on the series with Paul Casey serving as director.

hollywoodnews.com: It’s beginning to look a bit like a landslide. The Producers Guild of America is the latest group to reward Michel Hazanavicius’ “The Artist” with its year-end Best Picture honors, paving the way for what could be Oscar domination next month.
The black-and-white and predominantly silent film has been picking up top prizes throughout the season, winning Best Picture awards at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards and the Golden Globes.
