Olympic gold medal winner Caitlyn Jenner slammed Joe Biden and the White House on X after they created a social media post recognizing the Transgender Day of Visibility on Easter.
The Transgender Day of Visibility was created on March 31, 2009, and has always been held on this day. The day recognizes important transgender people and highlights the discrimination trans people face. Easter falls between March 22 and April 25 and falls on a different day different every year. This year, Easter fell on March 31.
The White House put out a statement acknowledging this day as a formality as this date has already been set and the administration already has plans to celebrate the holiday.
Biden stated, “Today, we send a message to all transgender Americans: You are loved. You are heard. You are understood. You belong. You are America, and my entire Administration and I have your back.”

Fox News contributor Caitlyn Jenner has been removed from her son’s reality show after threatening legal action against the series.
Jenner, 74, was unaware of her featured appearance in an episode of Brandon Jenner’s At Home With The Jenners. Caitlyn reportedly ordered her lawyers to warn the show’s production company to remove her from the final edit after learning that her son had used her appearance in promotional material.
Caitlyn was quickly wiped from all future appearances on At Home With The Jenners and even edited out of episodes she was already featured in.
Jenner’s legal action reportedly stemmed from fears over being seen on another network’s program, as this may have compromised her job at Fox News as an on-air contributor.
She later acknowledged the situation on X, formerly Twitter.

Actress Candis Cayne opened up about the factors that led to her decision to step back from her close friendship with reality TV star Caitlyn Jenner, years after their bond was showcased on the TV series I Am Cait.
Cayne expressed that she and Jenner no longer maintain regular communication and went on to reveal the breaking point in their friendship. “I can’t separate my friendship with her and her belief system anymore,” she told The Messenger.
Cayne, a trans activist, described Jenner as “a cult member, a Fox News cult member.” According to Cayne, she and a few other women attempted to enlighten Jenner about the importance of their cause and how progressive views were essential to support others, but to no avail.

Top drag stars, LGBTQ celebrities including Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Adam Lambert, and celebrity allies of the queer community banded together Sunday to stage Drag Isn’t Dangerous, a telethon to raise money to combat anti-lgbtq legislation.
As anti-drag and anti-trans bills proliferate across the United States — such as Tennessee’s ban on public drag performances (which has been temporarily blocked by a judge) — the telethon brought in more than $500,000 from 5,000 individual donors. According to the organizers, “all net proceeds from the event will be divided among approved charities (GLAAD, Glsen, Headcount, Black Queer Town Hall, The ACLU Drag Defense Fund, Trans Justice Funding Project, Victory Fund) that support Lgbtqia+ causes and drag performers in need, especially in states where they face discrimination and bans.” The fundraiser, held through GoFundMe, continues through Tuesday.

Witches are more than just gingerbread-loving, black hat-wearing, broomstick-flying creatures of chaos and evil. While there are plenty of on-screen witches that still have questionable morals, there are just as many with a more nuanced backstory. But just because there are more “good” witches out there, doesn’t mean that these magic wielders are any less formidable. Witches have always been a force to be reckoned with on screen, and if anything, their desire to help others, make up for past mistakes, or protect their family makes them even more powerful and intimidating.
The following witches from TV and movies come from a wide variety of worlds and backgrounds, but they all have one thing in common – they are complete and total badasses. Every single witch on this list would make a worthy and powerful ally, but good luck to anyone who dares to cross them.

Candis Cayne is inarguably a trailblazing actress. The blonde bombshell first made her TV debut in 1995 but it wasn't until her 2007 turn on CSI: NY where Cayne got her "first big role," as she explains in an exclusive sneak peek of E!'s True Hollywood Story: Transgender Hollywood, airing tonight (June 7). "It was originally for a drag performer to do a Britney Spears-esque style performance on stage and then she gets killed in the men's bathroom at the stall," Cayne says of portraying a CSI murder victim. Yet the premise didn't sit right with Cayne, who wanted to accurately represent the trans community onscreen. "I went up to the director and I said...

Gottmik will make herstory tonight as the first trans male contestant on “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” The drag queen spoke with TheWrap ahead of the Season 13 premiere about breaking new ground for the show.
“I couldn’t be happier for RuPaul allowing me to come on this show and show that drag is literally for everyone,” Gottmik said. “All you have to is audition and trust your drag. [RuPaul] knows drag is drag. You just have to trust yourself and kill it.”
Indeed, the show does not stipulate its contestants have to be cisgender men.

Laverne Cox has been and still is changing the game when it comes to the representation of the trans community and Black people in film and TV. She continues to bolster this message of inclusion of marginalized voices as an executive producer on Netflix’s Sam Feder-directed Disclosure. More than just a documentary, it’s a call to action as well as a lesson in history that has been swept under the rug.
When it comes to representation of the trans community in media, it has been more harmful than helpful, perpetuating a negative stigma of violence, shame and ridicule in regards to the trans community with no room for nuance. Disclosure starts a long-overdue journey to undo some of those portrayals.
Like all underrepesented communities, the trans experience is not a monolith, and it hasn’t portrayed authentically until recently with series such as Pose and Transparent. Before this groundbreaking series,...

By coming out as trans, Elliot Page has joined the ranks of transgender celebrities like Laverne Cox, Caitlyn Jenner, and Chaz Bono — the first three photos that appear after a Google search for “famous trans people.” Notably, only Bono is trans masculine in the group, and while he is a trailblazer who came out during a much different time, his story is lesser known by the young people who would most benefit from his example. As a trans masculine person, I wish I had grown up with a role model like Elliot Page, and I am so happy for all the kids who get to live in a world where he can, as he so eloquently wrote, “love who I am enough to pursue my authentic self.”

“Psycho.” “The Silence of the Lambs.” “Dressed to Kill.” What do all of these classic films have in common? They feature a transgender or gender variant person as a psychotic, deranged, murderous villain. The pesky trope began with “Psycho,” in what would become a favorite theme of Alfred Hitchcock’s, and proliferated throughout some of the most iconic thrillers of the last fifty years. Then there’s the “trans deception” narrative, which originated with dramas like “The Crying Game” and “M. Butterfly” but soon became a mainstay in comedies like “Tootsie,” “Bosom Buddies,” and “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.”

Groundbreaking actress and entertainer Candis Cayne has her home in the bohemian, up-and-coming Adams Hill neighborhood in the southeastern foothills of Glendale, Calif., up for sale at $1.285 million. Cayne, a legendary drag performer before she blazed showbiz trails as the first transgender actress to portray a recurring transgender character on primetime TV in ABC’s “Dirty Sexy Money” and who more recently popped up on “Elementary” and portrayed the Fairy Queen on the third season of the fantasy drama series “The Magicians,” hopes to just about double her money on the property that last traded in late 2012 for $650,000. Perched remarkably high on a precipitous slope, it’s a long, thigh-burning and fanny-toning three flights up from the street level two-car garage to the front door of the imposing and ever-so-slightly spooky 1920s English Tudor Revival cottage that contains three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms plus a self-contained one-bedroom and one-bathroom guesthouse, all in 2,627 square-feet.

If you looked at her for just a short amount of time you might think that she’s little more than just an attractive woman, but Candis Cayne has a little more to her than that. Some people might not agree with the whole transgender idea but the great thing is that they don’t have to. Their opinion usually means less than nothing to the people that identify as women in men’s bodies and vice versa. The sad part is that a lot of people are still afraid to come out and be who they want to be and act in

[Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers from “The Good Doctor” episode titled, “She.”]
On Monday’s episode of “The Good Doctor,” Sophie Giannamore guest stars as a young transgender girl who comes to San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital with a medical emergency. What’s significant about this casting is that Giannamore is actually a transgender actress in real life.
In the episode, Giannamore plays Quinn, a young girl who comes in with abdominal pains, but when she’s examined and found to have a penis, Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) is confused about why she identifies as female. He continues to use male pronouns “he” and “him” to refer to Quinn, and insists that biology is the only way to determine someone’s gender.

Syfy’s “The Magicians” released its Season 3 trailer, and surprisingly enough there’s little to no magic involved. Instead, the quest to restore magic to the world is officially on after the new Kings and Queens of Fillory failed to protect the kingdom last season. Protagonists Quentin, Eliot, Alice, and Margo will fight to bring the magic back, and it looks like they’ll go to any length to do so.
The series is based on the trilogy of novels by Lev Grossman and stars Jason Ralph, Stella Maeve, Olivia Taylor Dudley, and Rick Worthy. For Season 3, the series has also added fan-favorite actress Felicia Day. The characters have to work together now more than ever before in order to find the seven keys to balance magic throughout the realm.

“Whether we consent to it or not, our identities and our bodies are politicized,” Emmy-nominated filmmaker, actress and activist Jen Richards tells Et not long after the independent drama Easy Living premiered at the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas. Richards, who has appeared on Nashville and Caitlyn Jenner’s docuseries I Am Cait, has a smaller role -- the “steady best friend,” if you will -- in the film. But it’s significant for her to play this particular part because it’s one of the first times a transgender actor is playing a character that has nothing to do with being transgender.
While Emmy-nominated director Silas Howard offered one of the first instances of this in 2001’s By Hook or by Crook, the film is still a far cry from Hollywood’s usual portrayals of transgender roles, which have historically been the butt of a joke, a prostitute...
