Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell condemned former Fox News’ host Tucker Carlson and Donald Trump after senators approved a $95 million foreign aid package that would send funds to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan.
Under the law, the United States will send $60 billion in support to Ukraine, $17 billion for Israel, $9 billion in humanitarian aid for Gaza and $8 billion to Taiwan.
“I think the demonization of Ukraine began by Tucker Carlson, who, in my opinion, ended up – or he should have been all along – which is interviewing Vladimir Putin,” McConnell told reporters during a news conference.
“And so, he had an enormous audience, which convinced a lot of rank-and-file Republicans that maybe this was a mistake,” he added. “I think the former president had sort of mixed reviews on it. We all felt the border was a complete disaster, myself included.”
The Senate minority leader went on to talk about the negotiation phases.

The recently released Netflix series, 3 Body Problem, has taken the internet by storm. Whispers of its greatness have been heard in all corners of Hollywood and it has done an excellent job adapting from its source material, a 2008 book of the same name written by Cixin Liu. However, when words on paper are turned into something like action, plot lines are bound to get changed and things get lost in translation.

Although the series was heavily praised for its loyalty to the book, there were some major changes made to it in regards to the story, especially on the global scale. While the creators made such a change to introduce a bigger playing field for story-telling, one country has become quite upset with how it was portrayed.

Blanco County Sheriff’s Office has released details about the untimely death of Angela Chao, esteemed CEO of a shipping company and sister-in-law of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.
According to a comprehensive 62-page incident report, Chao was under the influence of alcohol when she mistakenly reversed her Tesla into a lake at a Texas ranch, which ultimately led to her death.
The report provides a harrowing account of the event that transpired on February 10. After a night out with friends, Chao inadvertently drove her vehicle into the lake and became trapped inside. She contacted a friend for assistance, but as the water level in the car continued to rise, Chao bid her final farewells.
Chao’s friend remained on the call for eight minutes, while another friend paddled towards the vehicle in a kayak and a third friend swam and attempted to reach Chao by climbing onto the car’s roof.

Plot: A young woman’s fateful decision in 1960s China reverberates across space and time into the present day. When the laws of nature inexplicably unravel before their eyes, a close-knit group of brilliant scientists join forces with an unorthodox detective to confront the greatest threat in humanity’s history.
Review: As soon as it was announced that Game of Thrones showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff were developing 3 Body Problem alongside Alexander Woo, I grabbed the novel and read it. The dense first entry in Liu Cixin’s trilogy was a fascinating look at science fiction from a Chinese vantage point with heavy political implications from the nation’s storied history. In translating the book for the screen, 3 Body Problem incorporates many of the cultural elements from the novel into a global and diverse narrative that sets the table for an ongoing series about humanity fighting against an extraterrestrial foe.

The aliens are coming. In the sci-fi thriller from David Benioff and D.B. Weiss (Game of Thrones) and Alexander Woo (True Blood), Earth’s population is under deadly threat from extraterrestrials fleeing their dying planet. To find out more about the epic saga, based on the book series by Liu Cixin, we spoke with the 3 Body Problem cast. To see the full interview, watch the video above. The tale begins with brilliant scientist Ye Wenjie (Zine Tseng), treated brutally as a young woman during China’s 1960s Cultural Revolution, making a terrible choice that will lead invaders to Earth. The aggressors have yet to reach our planet when we see her in present day (Rosalind Chao), but something’s strange. Science experts are mysteriously committing suicide—or are they being killed? “Ye’s [youthful] actions are the result of trauma, hopefulness, and a desire to change the course of humanity,” Chao tells us.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell‘s sister-in-law, Angela Chao, drowned at a Texas ranch after her Tesla accidentally backed into a pond.
In February, Chao, 50 years old at the time of death, was driving her Tesla home after spending the evening with friends when she accidentally reversed into a pond. As the car sunk into the water, Chao called a friend. First responders arrived at the scene 24 minutes after an initial call was made.
First responders spent hours attempting to remove Chao from the vehicle. Once the car was removed, Chao was found unresponsive. First responders attempted to resuscitate Chao for 43 minutes.
An investigation into the vehicle determined that the Tesla’s reinforced glass windows made it impossible for Chao to break them underwater, trapping her inside. The American Automobile Association confirmed these details in a vehicle test.
Chao’s death is being investigated as a possible crime for the moment.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky) said that he was backing Donald Trump’s presidential bid, even though he had blamed and blasted the former president for his “disgraceful” role in the January 6th attacks on the Capitol.
Trump also has used racist remarks against McConnell’s wife, former Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao. Trump has called her “coco chow.”
In a statement, McConnell said, per the AP, “It is abundantly clear that former President Trump has earned the requisite support of Republican voters to be our nominee for President of the United States. It should come as no surprise that as nominee, he will have my support.”

In February, Sen. Mitch McConnell‘s sister-in-law, Angela Chao, was found dead in her vehicle submerged in a pond in Texas.
The billionaire CEO of the Foremost Group, Angela was 50 years old at the time of her death. Authorities believed her death to be an accident at first but are now treating it as a criminal case.
Blanco County Sheriff’s Office wrote to Attorney General Ken Paxton, “Although the preliminary investigation indicated this was an unfortunate accident, the Sheriff’s Office is still investigating this accident as a criminal matter until they have sufficient evidence to rule out criminal activity.”
It took an hour for first responders to pull Chao’s body from the vehicle. Ems were unable to resuscitate Chao. The pond where the vehicle was submerged was located on a ranch in Johnson City, Texas. Chao’s husband, Jim Breyer, has ties to the corporation that owns the ranch.

Mitch McConnell is stepping down from his post leading Republicans in the Senate.
The Kentucky Republican announced on Wednesday that he’ll leave his leadership role in November. He will serve out the remainder of his term, which ends in 2027. “One of life’s most under-appreciated talents is to know when it’s time to move on to life’s next chapter,” he said in an address before the Senate. “So I stand before you today … to say that this will be my last term as Republican leader of the Senate.

Updated: Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky) said that he is stepping down as the Republican leader in the Senate, ending a tenure longer than anyone else in that position.
McConnell, 82, said on the Senate floor, “This will be my last term as Republican leader of the Senate.” He said that it was “time to move on,” although he said that he intended to remain in the Senate through the end of his term, which runs through 2027.
Elected in 1984, McConnell has served as Senate leader longer than anyone else, but his future in that position has increasingly been in doubt after a couple of incidents last year when he froze up as he was speaking to reporters. He had been hospitalized earlier in the year after suffering injuries from a fall.

It’s lights out on The Afterparty. Apple TV+ has canceled the murder-mystery comedy after two seasons. Apple nixed the series in part because of a post-strike reevaluation of its streaming series, according to Deadline sources. The Afterparty debuted in January 2022, created by Chris Miller and executive-produced by Phil Lord as part of the pair’s five-year overall deal with Apple TV+. Season 1 told the story of a murder at a high school reunion through the perspectives of different guests, with each episode boasting its own visual style based on popular film genres. That first season starred Tiffany Haddish, Sam Richardson, Zoë Chao, Ben Schwartz, Ike Barinholtz, Ilana Glazer, Jamie Demetriou, and Dave Franco. Season 2 premiered this July, with Haddish, Richardson, and Chao reprising their roles in a tale about a murder at a wedding. John Cho, Paul Walter Hauser, Ken Jeong, Anna Konkle, Poppy Liu, Elizabeth Perkins, Jack Whitehall,...

The party's over.
Apple TV+ has canceled The Afterparty after two seasons, Deadline reports.
The decision comes weeks after the conclusion of The Afterparty Season 2.
Thankfully, each season of the series is designed to be self-contained, meaning fans were not left hanging over a cliff about what would have happened next.
Resolution is necessary for a show of The Afterparty's caliber, which begins its seasons with a murder before having Tiffany Haddish's Detective Danner investigating the pool of suspects.
The investigation is infused with humor, red herrings, and everything you'd expect from a series that doesn't want to tell you the killer's identity until the season finale.
It's unclear how well the show performed on Apple TV+ because the streaming service keeps those viewership statistics under lock and key.

[Editor’s note: This article contains spoilers for “The Afterparty” Season 2, including the finale.]
If you paid attention to Season 1 of “The Afterparty,” the answer was obvious.
The high school reunion murder of Xavier (Dave Franco) at the hands of a classmate introduced viewers to Christopher Miller’s multigenre Apple TV+ series, in which each suspect recounts the night’s events as they experienced it. The murderer turned out to be the one with the most outlandish, exaggerated, and discrepant story of the bunch: Yasper (Ben Schwartz), who viewed the night as a wish-fulfilling musical.
Yasper was motivated by jealousy and revenge, the same emotions shared by Xavier’s other classmates but in comparatively low doses and without the means and opportunity. In Season 2 there’s a helluva lot of truly murderous motive; the unfaithful wife, the financially doomed father-in-law, the jealous sister, the gaslit mother, the disgraced business partner. After nine episodes, there was no obvious liar...

Oh, Isabel, how will you get out of this one?
The Afterparty Season 2 continues on Wednesdays on Apple TV+, and TV Fanatic scored an exclusive first look at the penultimate episode of the season.
If you've been watching, you know each episode explores a different character's account of the inciting incident.
In keeping with the show's tradition, we also get a story told through the lens of popular film genres to match the storyteller's perspective.
Elizabeth Perkins has been killing it this season, and her portrayal of Isabel continues to delight with the penultimate episode.
Isabel's take on her year since the shocking death of her husband includes various nods to the past as the series takes the form of a '50s psychological melodrama.
The series is a masterclass in acting because it utilizes different genres to tell a story infused with comedy and drama.

It should go without saying that any variety series with an episode entitled “Peek-a-Boob Your Titty’s Out” is not here to play. But HBO’s “A Black Lady Sketch Show” has been riotously rooting in irreverence for four seasons, and production designers Cindy Chao and Michele Yu have been there for the whole wild ride.

“The way Michele and I work is very organic,” said Chao, who is enjoying her second consecutive Emmy nomination along with her work partner. “Sometimes with a time crunch we will have to separate, but overall, we are designing together, scouting together, and coming up with great brainstorming ideas and concepts together.”
And this season alone involves designing dozens of scenes and backdrops for a six-episode go-round, including a large array of builds and location finds, something showrunner and star Robin Thede wanted from the start.

Sets for a TV series do yeoman’s work in setting tone and mood — but they’re also lived in and familiar after a few episodes. The sets for a sketch comedy series? Those have to hit every mark immediately before the show jumps to the next set-up and location.
On “A Black Lady Sketch Show,” it was the job of production designers Michele Yu and Cindy Chao to create settings that spotlighted the heightened comedy or contributed to ridiculous(ly funny) worlds in themselves — and to do it about 40 times a season.
The number of sketches that Yu and Chao worked on during Season 4 of the Robin Thede-led HBO comedy was actually higher; about 10 sketches get cut over the course of production each season. What stayed in was as wide-ranging as an ancient desert town, a Victorian mansion, a church that could double as a basketball court, a high-end hotel,...

Warrior, an action-packed Cinemax drama, honors the creative legacy of Bruce Lee. Taking inspiration from Lee’s writings, the series began its journey across two seasons before arriving with its third chapter. Set against the backdrop of late 19th-century San Francisco, the third season explores the eventful journey of Ah Sham, a skilled fighter on a mission to reunite with his sister. However, his path takes an unexpected turn as he becomes embroiled with the powerful tongs of Chinatown, plunging him into a world of intense power struggles.
Intense storytelling and well-choreographed action sequences stand as hallmarks of Warrior. Season 3 had masterfully deepened the intricate storyline, introducing new characters and twists. This season began with a fight between Ah Sham and Mai Ling’s groups, causing chaos in Chinatown. Young Jun took on more responsibilities as Hop Wei faced a dire financial crisis. A significant part of the story revolved...

As events unfold, the hope of seeing the Tongs united keeps dimming.
There was a major shift in the narrative on Warrior Season 3 Episode 9 as many characters made moves, shifting the story in an entirely new direction.
Warrior Season 3 teased alliances, but what unfolded here could not be further from that assessment.
We'll begin at the beginning, and that's with Lai at Douglas's place.
I thought that Lai was working with Ah Toy to bring down Douglas, but after she attacked him, I quickly realized how wrong I was.
A sword fight ensued that saw Douglas emerge on top, which didn't sit well. How was a businessman who spends most of his time in meetings and raining holy hell on people stronger than a martial art expert who was like a killing machine?
We had never seen Douglas in a sword fight before, so we had no prior knowledge about...

Netflix is rolling out a new feature called My Netflix, which will replace the Downloads tab on the bottom right of the home screen on iOS apps starting today.
The new area will be a personalized home for downloads and ongoing viewing, with the goal of streamlining the viewing experience. After starting on mobile devices (Android will be added in the coming weeks), Netflix plans to evaluate a potential expansion to connected devices for TV viewing. For now, though, the primary use of the feature will be for making on-the-go viewing selections, which are also available on other devices.
In a blog post, Product Manager Edith Chao described My Netflix as “a one-stop shop tailored to you with easy shortcuts to help you choose what you want to watch.” The algorithmic nature of Netflix comes into play with the new feature, though My it isn’t really designed to push recommendations,...

Plot: Detective Danner returns to help Aniq and Zoë solve whodunnit by questioning family members, star-crossed lovers and business partners, and hearing each suspect’s retelling of the weekend, each with their own unique perspective and visual style.
Review: Last year, AppleTV+ premiered Christopher Miller’s whodunit comedy, The Afterparty, to critical acclaim. Following a Rashomon-esque approach where each murder suspect told their story in a different genre style, the series was as hilarious as it was unique. Bringing The Afterparty back for a second season meant that not only would the creative team have to bring something new to the table, but a cast on par with the all-stars of the first season would need to be recruited. With only Sam Richardson, Zoe Chao, and Tiffany Haddish reprising their roles, The Afterparty‘s second season has delivered another run that is just as good as the first. While there...

After a 13-year hiatus, Party Down, the comedy-drama about a group of aspiring actors in L.A. who work as caterers to make ends meet, made its return to Starz for a third season on Feb. 24. Unlike some of the show’s characters who, over time, have given up hope of playing their dream roles, the actors behind the series remained committed to reprising their parts in the cult classic.

With the revival of Party Down came new additions to the ensemble cast, which includes Scott, Ken Marino, Jane Lynch, Megan Mullally, Ryan Hansen and Martin Starr.

Since she was a child, Ming-Na Wen has been a “Star Wars” fan. “To this day, whenever I get on a plane,” she says, “I still pray to God, Buddha and The Force.”
And while might be cliché to open a profile of Wen by saying The Force is strong with her — when Lucasfilm’s own Dave Filoni invokes the phrase, it would be wrong not to do so.
Long before Wen was playing bounty hunter Fennec Shand on “The Mandalorian” or its spinoff “The Book of Boba Fett,” she and Filoni attended the same high school in a Pittsburgh suburb. And he says both have always loved “Star Wars.” Says Filoni, “Working with Ming-Na Wen has been full of surprises. The Force is definitely strong with her. Always has been.”
Other actors can boast about being part of the “Star Wars” universe or playing a Disney princess or having...

In March, Vox Media unveiled the latest splashy addition to its growing network of podcast creators: Esther Perel, whose show, Where Should We Begin?, has only further burnished her reputation as one of the best-known couples’ therapists around the world.
In attracting Perel, Vox Media beat out competitors like Spotify, which previously had an exclusive deal with the psychotherapist beginning in 2019 via Gimlet Media. The deal has also shown that Vox Media’s podcast ambitions extend beyond the digital media company’s brand of publications, which include New York magazine and The Verge, and into a realm that appeals to more than just “tech and [media] industry nerds,” as one executive put it.
This Friday, Vox Media is making its debut on Podtrac, the industry measurement tool that releases monthly rankings of the top 20 publishers and podcasts in the U.S. With a total of 59 active shows — compared to the 809 of...
