Back in 1990, Kevin Costner directed, produced, and starred in an epic war film which also happened to be his directorial debut – Dances with Wolves. Little did he know that the film would go on to receive a whopping twelve nominations at the 63rd Academy Awards and win seven out of those. Clearly, the film was loved by many.
Kevin Costner in Dances with Wolves (1990)
However, films about war often have a few inaccuracies here and there even after filmmakers try their absolute best. Dances with Wolves is no different. Last year, a Civil War historian picked a few war films apart, explaining what actually happened in reality. When he came to Kevin Costner’s Dances with Wolves, he proved a very common misconception wrong.

Although Yellowstone has been widely hailed as one of the best television series to have ever been created, it has had some of its own controversial decisions as well. While some of these choices may seem meaningless to fans initially, further exploration of the storyline makes it evident almost every time that all of it was only for the better.
Yellowstone.
The decision to kill off one of the most major characters in the story right in the first episode, for instance, seemed controversial to most fans at the beginning. However, as the story progressed and fans started to come more to terms with what had happened, they understood that it was only for the best, done to make the show more moving than every other.

Kevin Costner’s Yellowstone is one of the prestige titles on Paramount+, and the series has been received positively by audiences. The series’ main lead, John Dutton, is a man of honor and dignity who will go to any length to protect his Yellowstone range and preserve the Dutton family legacy.

Jeremy Clarkson says he is bowed, but not beaten, by the local government bureaucracy he encounters as a farmer, but is inspired to fight by Kevin Costner’s character in Yellowstone.
The former Grand Tour presenter, whose hit Amazon Video show Clarkson’s Farm will return for a third series on May 3, told The Times newspaper he’s been watching the Paramount+ drama Yellowstone and is taking his cue to challenge officialdom from Costner’s character of rancher John Dutton:
“I’ve been watching Yellowstone. When someone displeases them, they murder them, take them across the state line and throw them in a ravine. I’ve been looking at that scene a lot.”
Clarkson’s turn to farming has seen a freshly successful chapter in his long TV career. The first series was commissioned for a single season in 2019 but went on to become the UK’s most watched Amazon original show.

In Austin, Texas at an event for the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival, Markle stated she was taking a step away from social media for “[her] own wellbeing.”

French farmers, who are currently blockading Paris with their tractors to protest the economic crisis facing the country’s agricultural sector, have found an unlikely hero in Jeremy Clarkson.
The controversial TV presenter has won praise from the protestors for his Amazon Prime Video Series Clarkson’s Farm, following his attempts to run his Diddly Squat Farm in the Cotswolds, and public backing of British farming.
“We need one of our French celebrities to do the same thing as Jeremy Clarkson in Amazon Prime Series Clarkson’s Farm,” protesting French farmer Robi Leduc told a reporter from the UK’s The Telegraph newspaper.
French farmers say their sector is on the brink of collapse as incomes fall due to rising environmental regulations, red tape and competition from cheaper imports, all issues Clarkson has talked about in his show in relation to British farming.

When the news came out in December that “The Grand Tour” — Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond’s post-“Top Gear” automotive series — would be coming to an end, fans were left wondering why.
But, in a new interview with The Times, Clarkson has delivered a cheeky yet straightforward answer: it’s because he’s “unfit and fat and old.”
Clarkson told The Times that the show “is immensely physical, and when you’re unfit and fat and old, which I am…” He also feels the trio has done just about “everything you can do with a car.”
“I’ve driven cars higher than anyone else and further north than anyone else,” Clarkson said. “We’ve done everything you can do with a car. When we had meetings about what to do next, people just threw their arms in the air.”

Jeremy Clarkson has revealed why it’s the end of the road for The Grand Tour. Clarkson said he and co-hosts, James May and Richard Hammond, decided to quit the Amazon Prime Video show after running out of steam.
In an interview with The Times of London, Clarkson said it was becoming increasingly difficult to conjure up outlandish adventures for the show and that the presenters were all showing their age.
Clarkson, who is 63, said: “I’ve driven cars higher than anyone else and further north than anyone else. We’ve done everything you can do with a car. When we had meetings about what to do next, people just threw their arms in the air.”

James May has left the car door open for a reunion with Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond after they park their Prime Video series The Grand Tour for a final time.
During BBC Radio 4’s Today program, which he was guest editing this morning, he responded to a question about the future of the series by saying: “Well, we’ve filmed the last one for now. I suppose that makes me technically unemployed — I can hear the cheers rolling around the country.
“We’ve got two in the bag, though, so there’s one coming out very soon. I’m not sure what I’m allowed to say here. Then [there is] another one coming out a bit after that.”
In November, Clarkson told The Times newspaper that the trio were “done” after 34 years of car review programs. However, Prime Video is yet to officially cancel The Grand Tour, which is among its highest-rating original series.

Amazon Prime Video’s automotive series “The Grand Tour” is not moving forward at the streamer — at least with its current hosts, former “Top Gear” trio Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond.
Sources tell Variety that Clarkson, May and Hammond have just returned from filming the show’s final special in Zimbabwe, which will launch at a later date next year and conclude the fifth season. A special set in Mauritania will launch before that, in February. Though options to continue the series with different hosts are being explored, it has not yet been greenlit. The “Grand Tour” news follows the announcement earlier this week that Clarkson’s other show on Amazon Prime Video, “Clarkson’s Farm,” is getting a fourth season.
Clarkson said in a statement to The Times on Thursday, “We’re done. I have reviewed cars on TV since 1989. That’s 34 years. And after next year, I...

Time to fire up the tractor again — Amazon Prime Video has renewed Clarkson’s Farm.
The streaming service confirmed at Content London on Thursday that the Jeremy Clarkson farming show will be back for a fourth season.
Deadline first reported in September that Clarkson’s Farm would continue despite reports that the streaming giant had canceled the presenter over his Meghan Markle tirade.

The announcement marked a change of tone from Amazon after Khan declined to commit to the show’s future at the Edinburgh TV Festival in August.
Khan said the streamer was “shocked and disappointed” by Clarkson’s column on Markle after he wrote that he hated the Duchess of Sussex on a “cellular level” in The Sun newspaper.

After the BBC revealed that “Top Gear” won’t be returning “for the foreseeable future,” former presenter James May has said that the series needs “a bit of a rethink.”
In an interview on the BBC’s “Today” podcast, May — who hosted “Top Gear” alongside Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond for over a decade — said that the show must be revamped whenever it does return.

Former Top Gear host James May has criticized the “car show-erati” who have called for him and his fellow former co-presenters to be reinstated on the hit motoring show since Andrew Flintoff’s crash.
Speaking to the BBC, May said he has been annoyed by “the people who watch car shows and were saying, ‘Well now they’ve done that wrong you can come back in and rescue [Top Gear].“
May referred to these “partisan” Top Gear fans as the “car show-erati.”
“I was just thinking, ‘The bloke has hurt himself very badly in a life-changing way and you could perhaps not use it as an opportunity to be partisan’,” said May of these fans. “You could perhaps say, ‘Rotten bit of luck, get well soon’.”

Hit automotive series “Top Gear” is being put in park “for the foreseeable future,” the BBC revealed on Tuesday.
The news comes after presenter Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff was injured in an on-set accident in December, resulting in a pause in production on the show’s 34th season. Flintoff had been a presenter on the series since 2019, alongside Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris.
“Given the exceptional circumstances, the BBC has decided to rest the U.K. show for the foreseeable future,” the statement reads. “The BBC remains committed to Freddie, Chris and Paddy who have been at the heart of the show’s renaissance since 2019, and we’re excited about new projects being developed with each of them. We will have more to say in the near future on this. We know resting the show will be disappointing news for fans, but it is the right thing to do. All other...

Top Gear presenter Freddie Flintoff voiced his concerns about safety during filming on the same day as he was injured in a 130mph crash, The Sun newspaper reports.
Former England cricketer Flintoff was badly injured in December 2022 when his open-topped Morgan Super 3 car crashed while filming a segment for the longrunning BBC car show.
The Sun quotes an insider reporting:
“Freddie voiced his worries about the safety of the stunt on set on the day of the accident.
“He questioned whether or not it was Ok, given the vehicle and conditions on the track.
“He was apprehensive before he got behind the wheel and production staff at the track were aware of this.”
Filming was suspended on the 34th series of the show following the accident, and Flintoff has only recently been seen in public, with his facial injuries still visible. He also broke several ribs.

The Mail on Sunday newspaper reports that Top Gear, in all likelihood, will not return to screens following a near-fatal crash involving one of its star presenters, Freddie Flintoff. Following the show being put “on hold” in March, the paper claims that the hit show’s production team has been dismantled.
This follows the departure of two key senior creatives from the team – editorial director Clare Pizey and development producer Chris Payne.
The newspaper reports that BBC sources have confirmed there are no plans to develop a fresh series, and plans to broadcast the most recent series 34 have been shelved.
Former England cricketing hero Flintoff received serious injuries to his face and ribs in a car accident back in December 2022. Exclusive: Don’t bet the farm on Amazon parting ways with Jeremy Clarkson. Deadline can reveal that Amazon Prime Video is preparing to renew Clarkson’s Farm following claims that the streaming giant had canceled the presenter over his Meghan Markle tirade.
Multiple sources said relations had improved and Amazon is in active talks with Clarkson over Season 4 of the farming documentary series, which is easily its best-performing UK original.
A deal is not finalized and there could yet be another plot twist, but those familiar with the matter said discussions have been positive and there is ambition on both sides to bring the show back. Amazon declined to comment.
Production outfit Expectation is currently making Season 3 for a 2024 premiere. A renewal would continue to see cameras rolling next year at Diddly Squat Farm in the Cotswolds.

Jeremy Clarkson has rejected Prince Harry’s claims that the UK media provides insufficient support or interest in the country’s military veterans.
Clarkson, who has been a longtime supporter of Help For Heroes, used his column in this Saturday’s Sun newspaper to praise Harry for his founding of the Invictus Games – which take place in Dusseldorf, Germany this week – but to take issue with Harry’s claims that the UK media doesn’t care about injured personnel.
Clarkson wrote about the late Bryn Parry, who founded Help for Heroes, and whose cause was taken up by The Sun with an awards night called The Millies, attended by Harry.
Clarkson said: “I’m amazed Prince Harry doesn’t remember this because I distinctly recall, one year, sneaking backstage with him before the evening began for a crafty fag [cigarette].”

Clarkson’s Farm is one of Amazon Prime’s biggest homegrown hits and by far its most popular UK-made show, but it could come to an end after the next series, with platform bosses revealing they were “shocked and disappointed” by the presenter’s comments about Meghan Markle.

Prime Video UK is yet to decide on the future of doc series Clarkson’s Farm following the furor over Jeremy Clarkson’s incendiary column about Meghan Markle earlier this year.
There has been much speculation Amazon’s streaming service will not renew the popular show after the backlash against Clarkson’s column, which became UK press regulator Ipso’s most complained about article of all time, but execs today have said a decision hasn’t yet been made.
In the piece, Clarkson wrote Markle should be “made to parade naked through the streets of every town in Britain while the crowds throw lumps of excrement at her.”
Quizzed about the future of the Expectation-produced show during a Prime Video commissioner session today at the Edinburgh TV Festival, Head of UK Unscripted Fozia Khan said Prime Video had been “shocked and disappointed” by the column.

British tabloid The Sun has been ordered to publicly acknowledge that an opinion piece about Meghan Markle written by “The Grand Tour” star Jeremy Clarkson was determined to be sexist.
In the December 2022 column, Clarkson declared he hated the Duchess of Sussex “on a cellular level,” and wrote that he was “dreaming of the day when she is made to parade naked through the streets of every town in Britain while the crowds chant, ‘Shame!’ and throw lumps of excrement at her.”
After an investigation, the Independent Press Standards Organisation (Ipso) determined that Clarkson’s opinion piece had breached anti-discrimination regulations.
Ipso chairman Lord Faulks said in the decision that the article was “humiliating and degrading towards the duchess,” and ordered The Sun to publish a front-page statement explaining in detail how Clarkson had breached those rules, which must also be featured on its website.

The Sun newspaper on Saturday published an apology to Meghan Markle on its front page and said it realised that “with free expression comes responsibility.”
The paper’s statement followed a ruling on Friday by the UK press regulator Ipso that an opinion piece about the Duchess of Sussex published in December 2022 was sexist in its tone.
25,000 people complained to regulator Ipso after a column by Grand Tour star Jeremy Clarkson appeared in The Sun newspaper, in which he wrote about Meghan Markle being paraded naked in the street.

The regulator rejected complaints that the article was racist in tone, inaccurate or sought to harass the duchess.

The controversial Jeremy Clarkson Sun column last year slamming Meghan Markle has been censured for “a pejorative and prejudicial reference to the Duchess of Sussex’s sex,” but escaped punishment for harassing her or being prejudicial on grounds of race.

The U.K.’s media watchdog, the Independent Press Standards Organisation (Ipso), has upheld two complaints lodged by women’s rights charities against Jeremy Clarkson’s December column in The Sun about Meghan Markle.
Variety can reveal that after a months-long process, Ipso found that the “Grand Tour” host’s column breached Clause 12 of the regulator’s Editors’ Code of Practice, which relates to discrimination. The case marks the first time in its nine-year history that Ipso has upheld a complaint on the basis of sexism.
As a result, The Sun has been instructed to publish a summary of the regulator’s findings in the spot where Clarkson’s column regularly appears in the print edition, and reference the decision on its front page and website homepage for 24 hours — something the tabloid hasn’t been forced to do since 2016, when its front-page “Queen Backs Brexit” splash was found to have breached press regulations.

Lane recalled (as per Et Canada) that he felt nervous before the show, telling host Willie Geist: “I said to Robin beforehand… ‘I’m not prepared to discuss, you know, that I’m gay on national television. I’m not ready.”
The actor said that Williams put his mind at ease, before helping him out on stage as well.
“And so then, of course she [Winfrey] was like, ‘How come you’re so good at that girlie stuff? Are you worried about being typecast?’” Lane recalled.
“And then Robin sort of swoops...

Since the revamped Top Gear returned to our screens in 2002, the motoring series has found itself at the centre of many public controversies.
On Friday (24 March), the BBC announced that filming had come to an end early on the latest series following an acccident involving presenter Freddie Flintoff.
In December, the former cricketer was taken to hospital after being involved in an accident while shooting for the hit motoring show at the Top Gear test track at Dunsfold Aerodrome in Surrey. You can read everything we know about the accident here.
A statement from BBC Studios said it had “concluded its investigation into the accident at the Top Gear Test Track in Surrey last December, which regrettably injured presenter Freddie Flintoff.
“Under the circumstances, we feel it would be inappropriate to resume making series 34 of Top Gear at this time,” they said. “It is the right thing to do, and...

The Goldbergs star Wendi McLendon-Covey has shared her opinion on Jeff Garlin being dropped from the series.
In the ABC sitcom, McLendon-Covey stars as head of the family, Beverly, and has played the role for nine seasons.
Up until December 2021, she appeared alongside Jeff Garlin, who played her husband Murray. However, after the Curb Your Enthusiasm actor received numerous complaints regarding his “uncomfortable” on-set behaviour, an investigation was launched and Garlin was written out.
At the time, Garlin admitted that he had faced annual investigations by human resources during his last three years on the show, which he claimed were due to jokes that had gone wrong.
The show dealt with his departure by killing Murray off in between season nine and 10. McLendon-Covey, not holding back, has now said this move “was a long time coming”.
Speaking on Andy Cohen Live on Tuesday (21 March), the actor described ABC’s decision as feeling like: “Ok,...

Piers Morgan has joined a chorus of criticism against the BBC’s decision to suspend Gary Lineker after he compared British government rhetoric to Nazi Germany.
Morgan said the BBC was “pathetically spineless” for demanding that Lineker step back from his Match Of The Day hosting duties for breaking impartiality rules on Twitter.
Voicing support for his friend, Morgan said:
Wtf? How pathetically spineless.. I now demand the BBC suspend every presenter who has made public comment about news or current affairs – starting with Sir David Attenborough and Lord Sugar. https://t.co/7DRtFEOAVa
— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) March 10, 2023
Others also voiced solidarity. Alan Shearer and Ian Wright, the former England strikers and close colleagues of Lineker, said they were boycotting Match of the Day.
I have informed the BBC that I won’t be appearing on Motd tomorrow night.

Projectile vomiting and exploding toilets aside, Ruben Östlund’s satire about the super-rich is more thoughtful than it initially appears – it’s a film for our times
Triangle of Sadness debuted at Cannes last May and won the Palme d’Or for best film. The chances of it repeating the feat at the Oscars 10 months later seems about as likely as Jeremy Clarkson duetting with Beyoncé. The Academy doesn’t seem to go for films that have 15-minute set pieces in which almost the entire cast projectile vomits, topped off with backed-up toilets exploding in a surge of sewage.
Well, more fool them – because Triangle of Sadness is a film for our times. It follows Carl (Harris Dickinson), a model, and his influencer girlfriend Yaya, as they take a free luxury cruise, Instagramming as they go. The other holidaymakers are particularly grotesque examples of the super-rich. There’s a sweet,...
