Twenty years ago, Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) got off the plane. “Friends” concluded its 10-season run on Thursday, May 6, 2004, with “The Last One,” its two-part series finale that drew 52.5 million viewers and remains the fifth most-watched series finale in U.S. history.
A lot has happened in the 20 years since the Emmy-winning sitcom went off the air. “Joey” came and went. “Friends” remains in syndication — and its enduring popularity means it’ll outlive all of us — but it has found a new generation of fans on streaming, first on Netflix and now on Max, to where the series moved when the streamer launched in 2020.
In 2021, the six stars — Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer — reunited for the Emmy-nominated Max special “Friends: The Reunion.” Five months after the special aired, James Michael Tyler, who played Gunther, died at 59 from prostate cancer. Nobody’s safe when it comes to Brian Cox speaking out about the industry and even some other staff that have nothing to do with the cinema. Though the actor’s triumphant show Succession has been over for a while now, Cox has seemingly never left his character (or he was just being himself all that time).
With all the fuss around his harsh words towards Joaquin Phoenix and his horrible performance in Ridley Scott’s Napoleon, some may have forgotten that it wasn’t the first time Brian Cox was harsh about someone or something — in fact, there’s a whole list of things or people the actor unapologetically hates.

Brian Cox is an iconic actor known for portraying the role of Logan Roy in the iconic HBO show Succession. Starring in one of the major roles, Cox portrayed the role for 6 years before the series ended in 2023.
With the actor portraying the role of William Stryker in the 2003 film X2, Cox revealed that he didn’t mind when Danny Huston took over the role for him. It seems that the actor, however, had a problem when the question about why he wasn’t selected again stuck with him.

If you’ve been paying attention, you know the biggest superhero movie of the year, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ is almost here. It’s bringing Deadpool into the MCU and aims to restore fans’ faith after a few disappointing releases in the past two years.
Apart from being a Deadpool flick, fans are hyped about the possible cameos and appearances from different characters, with rumors swirling about over 20 people making a return, although only a few are seen in the trailers.
There were also rumors suggesting that Brian Cox might reprise his role as William Stryker in the film. Cox portrayed the antagonist in ‘X2’ before the role was taken over by Danny Huston in ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine.’ In the movies, Stryker is depicted as a military scientist who conducts experiments on mutants to develop potent weapons and control methods. Cox addressed the speculation about his potential return in an interview with The Starting Line Podcast.

Actress Courteney Cox, who shares a daughter, Coco, with her former husband David Arquette, reflected on her upbringing, acknowledging instances where she hesitated to intervene in certain situations despite sensing that something wasn’t right at the time.
Cox opened up on the ‘Minnie’s Questions’ podcast, expressing, “I didn’t want to step in even though I knew something wasn’t right because she would get so mad at me. I did understand, and I should’ve trusted myself, and I should’ve stepped in.”

Brian Cox probably didn’t even have to engage the whole power of his acting talent in his recently ended black comedy drama show Succession — his character’s boldness and straightforward manner of speaking the truth seem to be a part of the actor’s personality too.
While nobody would find a safe place to hide from Cox’s harsh criticism towards actors and films at HistFest a couple of weeks ago, it wasn’t only Joaquin Phoenix’s Napoleon that got all the heat, but also Mel Gibson’s biggest achievement in the industry.
A proud Scottish man, Brian Cox is definitely into historical accuracy — and he won’t tolerate it when this accuracy isn’t 100%. At the same HistFest the actor revealed that he’s definitely not a fan of Braveheart, Mel Gibson’s 1995 directorial and acting feature that took home five Academy awards, including for Best Picture.

From sharing repugnance towards Wbd’s handling of Turner Classic Movies to blasting Joaquin Phoenix’s portrayal of Napoleon, Brian Cox has never bothered filtering his opinions. Recently, while sharing his distaste for Ridley Scott’s Napoleon, the Succession star stressed that Phoenix was terrible in the role, claiming he’d done a better job as France’s first emperor.
However, his criticisms weren’t limited to Scott’s historical epic, as the actor also took shots at one of Mel Gibson’s most acclaimed works to date, which scored five Oscar wins, including Best Picture.

From his lack of interest in Jeremy Strong’s Method acting to his distaste for Warner Bros. Discovery’s handling of Turner Classic Movies, Brian Cox has never been a man who hides his true opinions. The latest target of his colorful ire? Ridley Scott’s “Napoleon.”
In a recent appearance at HitsFest in London (via The Standard), Cox made it clear that he was no fan of Scott’s film, which starred Joaquin Phoenix as the eponymous French general-turned-emperor. While the “Succession” star didn’t have anything redeeming to say about the film as a whole, he placed most of the blame on Phoenix for his performance.
“It’s terrible,” Cox said of the film. “A truly terrible performance by Joaquin Phoenix. It really is appalling. I don’t know what he was thinking. I think it’s totally his fault and I don’t think Ridley Scott helps him.

The Wiz has returned in a Broadway revival starring Wayne Brady, Deborah Cox, and others.
The cast includes Emmy-winner Brady in the show’s titular role and Grammy-winning Cox as Glinda the Good Witch.
They’ve been appearing on various morning programs and talk shows to promote their big event by discussing their roles, what this show represents, and more.
The co-stars recently appeared on CBS Mornings and talked to Gayle King, Tony Dokoupil, and Vladimir Duthiers.
While some may have found the interview entertaining and insightful, several critics called Gayle out for her involvement in the segment.
In particular, one question Gayle asked drew criticism from a viewer, while another brought up something else that bothered them about the interview.

Brian Cox has gained a reputation in recent years as being, well, frank and outspoken in his opinions. That goes for his stance on method acting in particular, which he deems “f*cking annoying” and blames Daniel Day-Lewis for its popularity. Cox’s 2021 book had some choice words about fellow actors, too, including Johnny Depp (“so overblown, so overrated”) and Edward Norton (“a bit of a pain in the arse”), among others.

Brian Cox Calls Joaquin Phoenix’s Performance In Napoleon “Truly Terrible”; Pokes Fun At His Name, “Wackeen… Wacky” (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Succession Star Brian Cox is not one to mince his words. The Veteran Actor, who has played timeless roles, has always made headlines because of his candor. He had feelings about Joaquin Phoenix‘s Napolean portrayal and is letting everyone know. Cox made some shocking revelations and said, “A truly terrible performance by Joaquin Phoenix.” Ouch, but if you think that is harsh, you will be surprised by his statements.
Brian played the role of Media Moghul Logan Roy, the patriarch who puts his kids through a game of hoops and leaps to take over the seat of the media conglomerate in the multiple Emmy and Golden Globe-winning series. The actor, the polar opposite of his character, has been known to stir feelings up because of his new statements at a London fest.

From movies to video games, Brian Cox has done it all. The versatile actor also has a ton of experience in theatre acting having done plays like The Great Society and King Lear. True to form, actor Brian Cox doesn’t hold back when critiquing Ridley Scott’s Napoleon. He doesn’t have much time for Braveheart, either.
Seldom one to mince his words, Brian Cox has offered an unfiltered review of Ridley Scott’s 2023 historical epic, Napoleon. The film was, the Succession actor said, “Terrible.”
Nor did Cox have much time for Joaquin Phoenix’s performance as the title figure. It was “a truly terrible performance by Joaquin Phoenix,” he added.
Cox made the comments in a talk hosted by Clive Myrie called History on Stage and Screen. It was part of HistFest, an event held at the British Library earlier in April; during it, Cox waded in not only on Napoleon’s historical accuracy, but also the quality of the film as a piece of drama.

During a history-celebrating festival in the United Kingdom, Scottish actor Brian Cox lost his temper and attacked actors, theater critics, and politicians. Napoleon (2023), helmed by Ridley Scott, was the first flick he targeted. The yearly gathering discusses historical events with academics, educators, and prominent people.
Cox first took issue with Joaquin Phoenix’s depiction of French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte in Scott’s $221 million historical epic. The actor, who played Logan Roy on Succession for four seasons between 2018 and 2023, spoke candidly about his thoughts on Phoenix’s performance at HistFest, calling it “terrible”. Reacting quickly to Cox’s remarks, fans questioned why a great actor would ‘hate’ another great actor.

Brian Cox is giving his take on Joaquin Phoenix’s performance in Ridley Scott’s Napoleon and pondering on leaving the U.S. if Donald Trump wins the presidential election.
In a new interview, Cox blasted Phoenix for his interpretation of the French emperor Napoleon Bonaparte, calling it a “terrible performance.”
“Terrible. It’s terrible. A truly terrible performance by Joaquin Phoenix,” Cox said at the HistFest in London, according to the Evening Standard. “It really is appalling. I don’t know what he was thinking. I think it’s totally his fault and I don’t think Ridley Scott helps him. I would have played it a lot better than Joaquin Phoenix, I tell you that. You can say it’s good drama. No – it’s lies.”
The Succession star then went on to joke about Phoenix’s name, adding, “I think he’s well named. Joaquin…whackeen… whacky.

Never one to mince words, “Succession” star Brian Cox recently let loose his inner Logan Roy to eviscerate Joaquin Phoenix’s performance in “Napoleon.”
Speaking at HistFest in the United Kingdom, “the dynamic history events company that produces innovative digital and live content to global audiences – from lectures, film screenings and seminars, to courses, short films, podcasts, and live performances,” Cox participated in a conversation about history on stage and screen. It was within that context that “Napoleon” was mentioned, the 2023 Ridley Scott film about the life of the French ruler.

After her contentious departure from the Scream film series, Melissa Barrera, a former star of the franchise, recently shared that she is ready to move on. With her sights set on bigger career goals, the actress considers her departure to have been a minor “hiccup”.

The writers strike ended seven months ago, but memories of the picket lines were fresh at the WGA Awards tonight.
“The strike is over, the fight goes on,” said former Wgaw President David Goodman at the Hollywood Palladium. “As individuals we’re replaceable, but as a union we’re irreplaceable.”

From Wgaw President Meredith Stiehm to Hollywood Teamster Chief Lindsay Dougherty to Goodman and fellow Morgan Cox honoree Chris Keyser and even Drew Carey, the strike was a constant topic.

The MCU’s ‘Echo’ was a significant show for several reasons. Firstly, it marked the first TV-ma show within the MCU and was part of the ‘Marvel Spotlight’ banner, debuting on Hulu simultaneously. Additionally, it played a role in establishing the timeline of the MCU by incorporating elements from the Netflix Defenders Saga.
Despite initial doubts from fans due to Echo’s relatively lesser-known status in the comics, the show pleasantly surprised audiences with its action and Alaqua Cox’s performance. With the post-credits scene setting up events for the upcoming ‘Daredevil: Born Again,’ it’s clear that Echo will continue to play a significant role in the MCU’s future.
It’s uncertain if there will be a season 2 of ‘Echo’ since ‘Loki’ is the only MCU show confirmed for a second season. However, Cox expressed her desire for Maya’s story to continue in a recent interview with Screenrant.

MCU’s ‘Echo’ was a significant show for many reasons. First, it was the first TV-ma show released on the platform as a part of the MCU, it was also the first show to release under the ‘Marvel Spotlight’ banner, and the first to release on Hulu simultaneously. The show also changed the MCU timeline canonizing Netflix’s Defenders Saga.
While plenty of fans expected the show to fail since Echo is in large part, a lesser and not exactly popular character in the comics, it was a breath of fresh air. Fans were surprised both by the action and by Cox’s performance, and needles to say, we can expect to see more of Echo in the future, considering that the show, through the post-credits scene, directly led to the events of the upcoming ‘Daredevil: Born Again.’

When their supporting cast was being assembled at the end of 2022, it was announced that Sandrine Holt (American Gigolo) had signed on to appear on the show as a love interest to the Fisk – with the word being that she was taking over the role of his wife Vanessa Marianna Fisk, who had previously been played by Ayelet Zurer on the Netflix show. Apparently there had been scheduling issues with Zurer, who said she was “sad to not take part” in the new series… which, at the time, wasn’t meant to line up with the Netflix show perfectly. Jon Bernthal's Punisher is officially back in action. New photos taken from the set of "Daredevil: Born Again" have confirmed the return of the actor's version of Frank Castle, who first appeared on the Marvel Netflix shows nearly a decade ago. But five years after "The Punisher" was canceled by the streaming service, Bernthal is reuniting with his old frenemy Matt Murdock (once again played by Charlie Cox).

The above image sees Bernthal looking very much like the Frank Castle fans of the Netflix shows remember -- bloody, jacked, and ready for vengeance on the streets of New York City. You can also see Bernthal and Cox reunited in costume below. Unfortunately, we don't get a great sense of what's going on in the scenes in question, but it certainly looks like they're getting bloody and kicking ass. Jon Bernthal is back playing Frank Castle (aka Punisher) on the set of “Daredevil: Born Again,” new set photos from which have the character paired up with Charlie Cox’s eponymous hero and soaked in blood. The Disney+ series is now filming in New York City. Bernthal debuted as Frank Castle in Netflix’s “The Punisher” series, which aired for two seasons and 26 episodes between 2017 and 2019.
“Daredevil: Born Again” is bringing back a handful of actors from Netflix’s Marvel series. In addition to Cox and Bernthal, also set to appear in the series are Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Elden Henson (Franklin “Foggy” Nelson), Wilson Bethel (Benjamin Poindexter/Bullseye) and Vincent D’Onofrio (Kingpin). The show officially brings all these characters into the proper Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The National Advertising Division (Nad) has sided against AT&T following a complaint brought over certain Cox Communications marketing materials.
The complaint centered around a 30-second television spot that claimed Cox offered “unbeatable 5G reliability” with respect to its wireless service sold under the Cox Mobile brand. The claim was related to Verizon’s network as measured by RootMetrics. Verizon provides the network technology used by Cox for its mobile services.
In a statement, Cox said it “appreciates the Nad’s recognition that its unbeatable 5G reliability claim is fully supported.”
It wasn’t clear if AT&T plans to appeal the decision to the full National Advertising Review Board (Narb), which provides an additional layer of scrutiny to Nad decisions.
Cox Mobile continues to use the “unbeatable 5G reliability” claim on its website.

It might have seemed at one point that, like the Tower of London's raven tradition, the Scream franchise could not stand without stalwarts Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox. But last year's Scream VI did well enough without Campbell (who opted to pass due to an insultingly low salary offer). Now, though, following a wave of issues and director changes, the seventh entry is most certainly headed in a nostalgic direction, with Campbell back and now Cox in talks to similarly return.
The Friends alumnus has, of course, appeared in every Scream outing to date as ambitious journalist Gale Weathers. This new movie marks the franchise getting (some of) the old band back together, as Kevin Williamson, who wrote the first film and a couple of other original entries, is stepping up to direct.

Attention: The Following Report Is A Rumor. Please Take The Following Story With A Grain Of Salt.
The return of Charlie Cox as Daredevil has been met with much positivity from fans. The Marvel Netflix shows were fairly popular with five standalone shows with a crossover series The Defenders. Initially not fitting into Marvel’s plans the shows are now being integrated into MCU canon.
Following Cox’s return, there has been much speculation as to who may be next in returning to the world of Marvel. One of the most vocal of those is actor Finn Jones who portrayed Danny Rand, aka Iron Fist. He felt that he wasn’t able to give the character justice and wished for the chance to do so.
Now some fuel has been added to the fire of his potential return. In a now-deleted Instagram post, Jones shared a photo of his duffel...

The Scream franchise was fairly popular for releasing some of the most enjoyable horror movies in pop culture. Starting with the first Scream movie in 1996, this slasher franchise has 5 more movies and a TV show under its belt. But after Scream 6 (2023), things took a turn when actress Melissa Barrera was fired from the franchise. Her social media post about the Israel-Hamas was deemed antisemitic by the production house behind the franchise, and they decided to let go of the actress in November last year.

Although talks about Scream 7 had been ongoing before all the controversy, things went into a limbo after. After Barrera, news broke out that the other lead star of the franchise, Jenna Ortega, had also left months before the firing because of a scheduling conflict and an alleged pay dispute. And then, Christopher Landon, who had been brought on to direct the sequel,...
