It takes a special formula to make an awesome Saturday Night Live host. The person in question must be funny, yes, but also incredibly magnetic and likable. The gig is a lot harder than people think, but some stars make it seem like a walk in the park.
Everyone from Britney Spears to Josh Hutcherson has hosted SNL, but what celebrities reign supreme as the ultimate masters? Well, take a break from watching VH1 Classic‘s “SNL Rewind: 2015- 1975 Mega Marathon,” and find out which 10 candidates make cut. (Of course, it includes human beer bottle and general sunshine king Justin Timberlake.)
Alec Baldwin
Alec Baldwin has hosted the show a whopping 16 times—the most ever—and became a member of the prestigious Five-Timers Club in 1994. Some of Baldwin’s best skits include “NPR’s Delicious Dish with Pete Schweddy” (1998), “Brenda the Waitress” (1990), and...

Stephen Colbert grew sideburns, donned earth tones and lit up on camera to go back to 1974 to mark the 40th anniversary of President Nixon's resignation. No longer content just to expain the news, Colbert also explained a little history on Monday's “Colbert Report,” interviewing Nixon speechwriter Pat Buchanan and White House counsel John Dean. He called Nixon his “all-time favorite non-Reagan president.” Also read: Stephen Colbert, Out of Character, Tells Teen Girls What to Do About Catcalls (Video) Colbert asked Buchanan if Nixon should have destroyed the so-called “smoking gun” tapes that indicated Nixon had tried to cover up the break-in.

The Kansas birther hearing not only brought pubic scrutiny to an obscure state agency, but also put the state in the crosshairs of some celebrities.
Several celebrities took to Twitter to weigh in on the decision of the state objections board to weigh President Barack Obama's eligibility to be on Kansas' presidential ballot in the wake of a challenge by a resident of Manhattan, Kan. The board voted unanimously Monday -- during a hearing dominated by birther queen Orly Taitz -- to drop the case after Joe Montgomery withdrew his objection.
Cher led off the fight on Friday when she posted several tweets highly critical of Kansas Republicans, including one calling them "beneath slime." The objections board is composed of three Republicans -- Secretary of State Kris Kobach, Lt. Gov. Jeff Colyer and Attorney General Derek Schmidt. The three voted unanimously on Thursday to delay a decision on Montgomery's...

Want to make a Gen Xer feel old? Tell 'em that 20 years ago today, on February 14, 1992, "Wayne's World" was released in theaters. ("'Wayne's World' is 20? No way?!" "Way!") Lots of now middle-aged folks who spent too long living in their parents' basements (like Wayne and Garth) have fond memories of what may be the funniest film ever spawned from a "Saturday Night Live" sketch, a film that made a bankable movie comedy star out of Mike Myers, introduced the world to Tia Carrere, helped rescue Rob Lowe's career, and spawned countless catchphrases that viewers couldn't stop repeating. ("Schwing!" "We're not worthy!" "That's what she said!") Yet behind the movie's blissful silliness lies a secret story of off-camera bitterness and strife that threatened to keep the film from partying on -- as you'll read below. 1. Myers created the Wayne Campbell character long before "SNL," when he was still in high school.

Guess who's coming to dinner?
People know David Hyde Pierce as the neurotic Dr. Niles Crane in 'Frasier,' but the multi-faceted actor can play evil as well (he played John Dean in 1995's 'Nixon,' after all).
Come July 1, Hyde Pierce will head up 'The Perfect Host,' a delicious black comedy about a bank robber (Clayne Crawford) who needs to get off the street and finds himself at the house of Warwick Wilson (Hyde Pierce) -- posing as a friend of a friend --where he discovers that appearances aren't always what they seem to be. Mild-mannered Wilson is getting ready to host a very interesting dinner party, and he won't let something as inconsequential as a vicious criminal sitting in his living room get in the way of his plans. Wilson turns the tables on the bad guy and the party gets under way.
