- Pete DeFreitas was born on August 2, 1961 in Port of Spain, Trinidad, British West Indies [now Trinidad and Tobago]. He was an actor and composer, known for Donnie Darko (2001), Grosse Pointe Blank (1997) and I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore (2017). He died on June 14, 1989 in London, England, UK.
- Original drummer of the rock band Echo and the Bunnymen. Killed in a motorcycle crash in 1989.
- Replaced the eponymous "Echo" - a drum machine - in '80s band Echo & the Bunnymen as their first human drummer. Legend has it he couldn't even play the instrument at the time (see the liner notes to 'Crystal Days 1979-1999').
