- Sally Dexter is one of Britain's most respected actresses. A multi-award winner; her reviews are consistently superlative and she's amassed a loyal following on both sides of the Atlantic. She's particularly renowned for her ability to bring warmth and humanity to her roles, as well as a signature charisma and sexiness.
Following an early Olivier Award for Dalliance, she was catapulted to public attention in the first major revival of 'Oliver!' at the Palladium, with what many still consider to be the definitive portrayal of Nancy. Many critically acclaimed roles followed - including Anna in Patrick Marber's 'Closer' (the character later reprised by Julia Roberts in the U.S. version) and Lady Macbeth opposite Rufus Sewell in the major, West End production of 'Macbeth'. Viewers will also know her from her many Film and TV roles, including a cult following from 'Night and Day' and as the regular, female lead in the ratings-winner, 'A Touch of Frost'. Her co-star in the latter, David Jason, still refers to her as his favourite ever leading lady.
An amazing singer and dancer; amongst the classics and heavyweight roles, Sally Dexter is also a gifted comedy actress, often finding quirks and idiosyncrasies in her characters that continue to endear her to her many fans.- IMDb Mini Biography By: Catherine Malblanc
