Yoko Ono fell in love with John Lennon, but she once said that Ringo Starr was the most influential member of the Beatles. In the years since she met Lennon, Ono has gotten to know Starr well. She asserted her belief that his influence had little to do with the music he created in the Beatles or his solo career. Instead, she pointed to a quality Starr had that Lennon often preached about.
Yoko Ono said Ringo Starr’s personality made him the most influential Beatle
In 2015, Starr became the final member of The Beatles to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist. Ono, who has known Starr since the 1960s, attended the ceremony. She expressed her delight that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame was finally honoring Starr’s solo career, telling Rolling Stone it meant “so much to all of us in the Beatle family.

The world was shocked to hear the news of John Lennon’s death in 1980. Each member of The Beatles had a different reaction to the news, as they never expected to lose their bandmate and friend so soon. Ringo Starr was on vacation when he heard John Lennon was shot, and he immediately abandoned his trip to be with Lennon’s wife, Yoko Ono.

Kansas founding member Kerry Livgren hesitated to bring “Dust In The Wind” to his bandmates, thinking they wouldn’t like it. In a surprising twist, the song was a huge success and helped launch the band’s music career. Even though the song wound up being Kansas’s only top-10 hit, it almost didn’t happen.
Phil Ehart recalled hearing ‘Dust In The Wind’ for the first time
What started out as a chord pattern Livgren used as a fingerpicking exercise turned into Kansas’ most popular song. However, for several reasons, the “Dust In The Wind” almost didn’t exist.
In a recent interview with Ucr, Kansas drummer Phil Ehart recalled the day Livgren showed them the song.
“When Kerry played ‘Dust In The Wind’ for us. We had never really done an entire acoustic song,” Ehart explained. “I think we had some acoustic interludes and stuff in some of our music.

Led Zeppelin doesn’t sound like Elvis Presley influenced them, but almost every rock band has a little touch of the king. The British band had a more hardcore sound than Presley did, but the members developed a love for rock n’ roll after listening to the Memphis singer. Lead singer Robert Plant once performed a cover of an Elvis song that the king said he appreciated.

Musicians build their reputations on their art, which means that they can sometimes get away with rude behavior, outlandish styles, and, in the case of these three artists, smelling bad. Here are three talented musicians who have caused people to complain about their odor.

Bob Dylan’s longtime road manager Victor Maymudes dealt with a lot while working with the musician. When their working relationship crumbled, Maymudes aired some of his grievances about Dylan. These included rude behavior, like blowing cigarette smoke in people’s faces or refusing to answer questions. He also had problems with Dylan’s hygiene.
“He doesn’t take his clothes off when he goes to sleep and the guy doesn’t clean his teeth,” Maymudes said, per the book Down the Highway: The Life of Bob Dylan by Howard Sounes. “He’ll smell like a f***ing hog.

Ballerini wears her pain in the most fashion-foward way. In 2015, this country artist released “Stilettos” off The First Time. She co-wrote the track with Forest Glen Whitehead and Kevin Savigar, earning over 13 million Spotify plays since its debut.
The high heels are a kind of metaphor in this track, representing a strong female lead as she reacts to her breakup. The narrator says that she learned to be strong, covering her pain with something beautiful, like stilettos.

The Vampire Diaries was hardly the first vampire show on television. Buffy, the Vampire Slayer pioneered makeup effects for vampires and other creatures. Of course there was Dark Shadows, and Vampire Diaries even came after True Blood. But one of co-creator Kevin Williamson’s big pet peeves was “cheap effects” so he devised The Vampire Diaries makeup to avoid that look.

Williamson was on a Television Critics Association panel for The Vampire Diaries in 2009. Before viewers had seen the show’s vampires yet, Williamson explained how they’d circumvent the cheap look. The Vampire Diaries is now streaming on Peacock and HBO Max.

An audience member described the incident to the Telegraph: "We were in the 10th row, and it looked like he did a massive face-plant after his encore and pretty much didn't get up,'' concertgoer Dan Bateman said. "We were told to leave the premises. No one really wanted...

Unlike Natalie Portman, LeAnn Rimes is not both pregnant and engaged. That's what the country singer wanted fans to know when she took to Twitter on Tuesday (December 28), just one day after announcing that she and Eddie Cibrian are engaged.
"This is such Bs!!!! Lol, you people all report Bs," she wrote, tweeting a celebrity gossip website's report that she is expecting.
Several tweets prior, Rimes shared the best advice she ever received, perhaps a dig at reports about her and her fiancJ: "Don't feed onto the negativity, that's what they want. When you ignore you put out their flames and leave them with nothing to talk about. A bully wants to get a reaction, no reaction is confusing to a bully and they eventually burn out.

Jessica married fellow pop star Nick Lachey in October 2002. The pair documented their marriage on their hit MTV series, "Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica." But their sweet kisses turned sour when Simpson and Lachey split in 2005; in 2006, their divorce was finalized.

Following an intro from "Country Strong" actress Leighton Meester, Swift appeared onstage behind a large, sleek grand piano on an elevated platform. With an iron gate and dimly lit street lamps flanking a string section, the set had a turn-of-the-century vibe. Donning a long, white, empire-waist gown, red lipstick and her blond curls swept into an updo, Swift gave a measured performance of the ballad. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that prosecutors declined to follow-up on the rapper's traffic charges after Tuesday's incident. Officials were reportedly dropping the case.
Gucci (born Radric Davis), was arrested after an off-duty officer spotted the Mc wildly steering a Hummer. Gucci was also seen arguing with another man in front of an auto body shop and ignored police when they attempted to intervene. The rapper apparently struck the other man and was subdued with pepper spray. The Mc was charged with running a red light or stop sign, damage to government property, obstruction, no license, no proof of insurance and other traffic charges, as well as driving...

While calling the album a "MasterPeace" would suggest otherwise, DeVaughn said that it's simply a play on words. "When you hear the word 'masterpiece,...

A lot has happened to Jessica Simpson since she bounced on the scene with her 1999 debut album Sweet Kisses. While recording music, starring in movies and designing her own brand of clothing, Simpson has also been the constant subject of tabloid rumors and public debate over her image. And before we watch her return to reality TV on Monday night (March 15) with her show, "The Price of Beauty," on VH1, MTV News decided to take a look back at the highs and lows of her career and personal life so far.
November 23, 1999: Simpson released her debut album, Sweet Kisses. Branded as a cleaner-cut pop star than cotemporaries Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears, the 19-year-old didn't roll around in the sand or get her Lolita on in schoolgirl uniforms.

A Florida woman prominently featured in a homemade sex tape posted online by 50 Cent last year as part of his feud with Rick Ross has sued 50 (born Curtis Jackson) in New York City, claiming he unlawfully distributed the video over the Internet.
According to The Associated Press, Lastonia Leviston filed the lawsuit on Wednesday in Manhattan, claiming unauthorized use of her name or image and emotional distress caused by the public release of a video she made with an unidentified man in 2008. In the tape, Leviston is seen showing off a tattoo on her chest with the initials "Rr," seemingly in reference to Ross, and 50 is heard providing exaggerated voice-over narration to the action in his wigged "Pimpin' Curly" persona.
