Started acting as a teenager. She then went into repertory theatre
before going to West End theatre in London.
She got the acting bug at an early age and in her teens as a member of Worthing Repertoty Company. Her West End debut was in 'The Anniversary Waltz' in 1959 followed by her film debut in 'The Shakedown',.
Her parents ran several restaurants when she was a child.
She was named after her father's boss, called Angelino, who died when
she was very young.
Kenneth More was Nick Pourgourides' childhood hero. Through his friendship with More's wife, Angela Douglas, Pourgourides went on to become manager of the estate of her late husband, as well as publicist to Douglas.
Angela is not the sister of actress Sarah Douglas as some online sources have mistakenly claimed, although she does have two siblings: Elaine (b. 1936) and Anthony (b. 1944).
