When Gelsey Kirkland left the American Ballet Theatre and defected to England to the Royal Ballet of London following her drug habit and temperamental behavior, he was her first partner to dance "Romeo & Juliet" and "The Leaves Are Fading." He bared with her and she remarked it as some of the best works she had ever done and one of her favorite partners.
