[This story contains spoilers for Andor season one.]
Now that Andor season one has come to a close, creator Tony Gilroy is already off and running on season two.
The showrunner of the critically acclaimed Disney+ Star Wars series is currently embarking on a shoot that will last through August 2023, but he still managed to carve out some time to answer some of the lingering questions from the season one finale.
In “Rix Road,” the citizens of Ferrix were so inspired by Maarva’s (Fiona Shaw) parting words via hologram that they fought back against the Imperial forces that had been occupying their town for quite some time. Cassian (Diego Luna), who couldn’t help but risk everything to return home for his adoptive mother’s funeral, managed to spot spymaster Luthen Rael (Stellan Skarsgard) in the crowd, and once he freed Bix (Adria Arjona) from captivity and...

Writing new music for the “Star Wars” universe would be daunting for any composer, considering its iconic scores by the legendary John Williams.
Luckily for “Andor” composer Nicholas Britell, writer-producer Tony Gilroy and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy gave him “total freedom” to imagine a new, totally unique soundscape for the backstory of Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), the rebel spy first encountered in the 2016 film “Rogue One.”
So, unlike “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” the “Star Wars” series for which Williams wrote a new theme earlier this year, there isn’t a note of Williams music in “Andor,” which launched a 12-episode run last Wednesday on Disney+.
Under a veil of secrecy, Britell — the three-time Oscar nominee and Emmy winner for “Succession” — began talking with Gilroy during the spring of 2020, before shooting even began.
“The first thing we started working on was the on-camera music,” Britell tells Variety. “The Morlana club music you hear in the very beginning,...

Billie Eilish and her producer/co-writer/brother Finneas gave themselves one rule, and one rule only, when a request came in for the duo to write and perform the James Bond theme song for “No Time to Die.”
“Finneas’ whole thing — that I agreed with — was that we have to have the title of the song be the title of the movie,” said Eilish. “And we have to say it, or it doesn’t hit as hard — it doesn’t do what it needs to do.”
Finneas added that this vow was not meant to cast judgment on any past Bond lyricists who did not commit to the same standard. “We were lucky,” he admits, “because the title was ‘No Time to Die,’ and that is a good lyric. I don’t fault Jack White and Alicia Keys for not writing a song called ‘Quantum of Solace.’”

Billie Eilish’s “No Time to Die,” the theme song for the much-delayed James Bond 007 movie of the same name, received a Grammy Award nomination on Tuesday, despite the fact the film has yet to hit theaters. The pic, the 25th installment of the Bond franchise, has seen its global release date delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The film, which returns Daniel Craig to the lead role, originally was set for an Easter Weekend 2020 release but was then moved to a November 20, 2020 releae in the U.S. and November 12 in the UK as MGM was among the first studios to foresee how the pandemic was going to stall the exhibition. It has since moved again and has staked 2021’s Easter weekend, April 2, to try a global release again.

Back in February, Billie Eilish dropped “No Time to Die,” the theme song from the James Bond film of the same name. However, within a couple of weeks the Daniel Craig-starring film’s release was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
With the film’s release now scheduled for November, Eilish has dropped the song’s video, which has presumably been completed for several months.
The Daniel Kleinman-directed clip interweaves footage of Eilish with scenes taken from the film — watch it below.
The song was produced by Eilish’s brother, Finneas, along with Stephen Lipson and orchestral arrangements by Hans Zimmer and Matt Dunkley, and guitar from Smiths cofounder Johnny Marr.

Billie Eilish made her first live performance of the theme from the new James Bond film, “No Time to Die,” at the Brit Awards in London on Monday night. She was joined for the performance by her brother Finneas, as usual, along with former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr and superstar film composer Hans Zimmer, both of whom contributed to the studio version of the song.
Most impressively, Eilish nailed the challenging high note at the end of the song — watch the performance below.
As is often the case with the Brit Awards, many of the winners are artists that would make most Americans say, “Who?” But Lewis Capaldi and Stormzy both won big, and Eilish and Tyler, the Creator both took International awards — see the full winners’ list below.

Billie Eilish‘s busy 2020 continues. Following her historic five Grammy wins on January 26 and her performance at the Oscars on February 9, she premiered her theme song from the upcoming James Bond film “No Time to Die” on February 13. Listen to it above, and vote in our poll below to let us know if it sounds like a potential Oscar winner to you.
At age 18, Eilish is the youngest artist ever to write and perform a Bond theme. But she was a logical choice since the iconic spy is known to be a tough guy, like-it-really-rough guy — though in this case he’s the good guy, duh.

She co-wrote the song with her brother, fellow five-time Grammy winner Finneas O’Connell. It was produced by O’Connell and Stephen Lipson with orchestral arrangements by Hans Zimmer and Matt Dunkley, and guitar from Johnny Marr.

The 18-year-old Grammy winner released “No Time to Die” on Thursday, which will appear in the upcoming movie of the selfsame name starring Daniel Craig as the famed 007 agent.
“That I’d fallen for a lie / You were never on my side / Fool me once, fool me twice / How you dare the paradise,” the “Ocean Eyes” hitmaker croons in the moody ballad’s chorus. “Now you’ll never see me cry / There’s just no time to die.”

The “No Time to Die” theme song from 18-year-old singer-songwriter Billie Eilish dropped on Thursday, co-written and produced by her brother, Finneas O’Connell. Fittingly, it’s a haunting ballad that bids farewell to Daniel Craig’s fifth and final outing as James Bond. Listen below.
Eilish, who swept the Grammys this year and who sang the “Yesterday” “In Memoriam” tribute at the Oscars on Sunday, is the youngest person to record a theme song for a Bond movie. Her song follows the back-to-back Oscar winners, “Writing’s on the Wall” (“Spectre”) from Sam Smith (co-written by Jimmy Napes), and the eponymous “Skyfall” from Adele (co-written by Paul Epworth). The other two Bond songs from the Craig era are the rockers “Another Way to Die” (“Quantum of Solace”) from Jack White & Alicia Keys, and “You Know My Name” (“Casino Royale”) from the late Chris Cornell.

Billie Eilish has released the title track and theme song to the next James Bond movie, “No Time to Die,” a steamy but delicate and whisper quiet ballad to accompany Daniel Craig’s final turn as 007.
The Grammy-winning artist for 2020’s Album of the Year is the youngest musician to ever write and record the theme song for a James Bond movie, and she wrote the track with her brother Finneas and incorporated the traditional 007 theme, as well as special guests Hans Zimmer and guitarist Johnny Marr on the song.
“Though you’ll never see me cry, there’s just no time to die,” Eilish sings on the title track.

With six Grammys, 13 platinum singles and one of the biggest debut albums in recent memory, Billie Eilish has already conquered the music world and has moved on to film. After performing a unique take on the Beatles’ classic “Yesterday” at the Academy Awards last weekend, the singer has dropped the theme song to the forthcoming James Bond film “No Time to Die,” which comes out April 10. The song is the second she and brother/musical collaborator Finneas have dropped since the spring release of her blockbuster debut full-length, “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?,” after “Everything I Wanted,” which dropped late last year.
“No Time to Die” is slow and ominous, with Eilish flexing the high, quavery register of her voice in a way not unlike her take on “Yesterday.” But the Bond-ian touch comes when an orchestra swells in the background, gaining intensity as the song...
