"Don't let the monster win." "No, never again." Saban Films has revealed an official trailer for a mysterious crime thriller film called Cult Killer, which is a new title instead of the original The Last Girl. This is now set to open in January, another boring early-in-the-year dumping grounds release to ignore. Set in Ireland, a renowned private investigator and his partner are drawn into a web of intrigue when they start tracking a serial killer targeting a wealthy family with a dark secret. The Pi is forced into a dangerous alliance with the killer in order to uncover a quiet town's grisly criminal underbelly and clear the name of her mentor, who is implicated in the crimes. Starring Alice Eve in the lead role, Shelley Hennig, Paul Reid, and Antonio Banderas, with Olwen Fouéré, Kim DeLonghi, Nick Dunning. Not really much worth watching here. // Continue Reading ›...

Review by Stephen Tronicek
Kill Ratio is a poorly conceived Die Hard power fantasy that at moments finds itself looking fine, and being hilariously ridiculous. Seriously, if you want to see a Russian coup happen in a hotel that ends with an unbelievably apathetic hero fighting an old man with a sword, well then this movie is in fact for you, but Kill Ratio is too bland to be for anyone else.
Have you heard this story? A violent series of events has put a president (oddly not American in how nationalistic this movie is) in danger and it’s up to one man to fight his way through a couple of armed violent henchmen to save the president. So it’s Die Hard, Olympus Has Fallen, and White House Down, and it’s nowhere near as entertaining as two of those happen to be.
The problem is mainly with the protagonist,...

The new action film “Kill Ratio” follows American covert operative James Henderson (Tom Hopper) who is on a business conference with his inexperienced colleague, Gabrielle (Amy Huberman) to bring capitalism to a newly democratized Eastern European republic. But soon the city is rocked by explosions and gunfire and it’s up to James and Gabrielle to hide president Tania Petrenko (Lacy Moore) from Colonel Lazar (Nick Dunning), an old guard military man and leader of a coup. James eventually realizes he and Lazar will have to battle it out for justice and supremacy. Watch an exclusive clip from the film below.

The film is directed by Paul Tanter, who previously directed “The Rise & Fall of a White Collar Hooligan,” about an unemployed soccer fan who becomes a credit card fraudster and gangster. He eventually followed this up with two sequels.

"You are witnessing history today." XLrator Media has debuted a trailer for an indie action movie titled Kill Ratio, which looks like another formulaic action flick. The plot involves an American covert operative who becomes the one man who can save an entire country when a "ruthless military leader" attempts a coup. Tom Hopper (from "Black Sails", "Merlin" and Knights of Badassdom) stars, with Lacy Moore, Amy Huberman, Nick Dunning, Conor Hegarty, Brian McGuinness and Michelle Lehane. This looks particularly cheesy, especially considering it's another action movie that takes place inside of one building. The sword fight at the end nearly made me roll my eyes. I'm not expecting much from this, but who knows. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Paul Tanter's Kill Ratio, direct from YouTube: An attack on the new President of a fledgling Eastern European democracy pits an American covert operative (Tom Hopper) against...

In season 3, Da Vinci's Demons is getting harder and harder to follow...
This review contains spoilers.
3.5 Anima Venator
Da Vinci's Demons has been kind of problematic for me throughout its third season thus far. It seems like everything is different, all the ideas of the first two seasons are just scrambled up to make everything a muddled, grey mess. Are the Sons of Mithras the bad guys? Are the Labyrinth bad guys? Sure, when you look at the surface, it's the bad guys like Carlo Medici and Riario involved in the Labyrinth and the Sons of Mithras have Leo's old ally Al-Rahim Aka The Turk (Alexander Siddig) and the true pope, Francesco (James Faulkner). However, one side is fighting to defend Italy and the other wide is actively assaulting and killing the people of the peninsula and by extension the Catholic Church.
Stuck in the middle are Florence and its famous son,...

The First Churchills.
Kieran Kinsella
We’re all familiar with Winston but how many of us know much about The First Churchills? Well for those who don’t know, Britain’s war-time Pm traced his lineage back to the court of King Charles II, and the Duke and Duchess of Marlborough Aka The First Churchills. The cigar smoking nemesis of the Nazis wrote a biography of his aristocratic ancestors and in 1969 the BBC dramatized the story. The 12 part series was an instant success. Drama starved executives on the other side of the pond soon snapped it up and began airing it on PBS in a new time slot called Masterpiece Theatre. Yes British TV watchers, The First Churchills isn’t just about English history it is also a landmark series in the British invasion of American networks. On 4 June, Acorn Media are reviving this lost classic on DVD.

Due in theaters December 30, 2011 for an Oscar qualifying run, watch the United Kingdom trailer for The Iron Lady. Having the British, ”Our House” (1982) by Madness, underneath is a nice touch.
Doesn’t that give you chills? Streep is brilliant as usual (when isn’t she?) and will see another nomination. But enough of the “actress of our generation” rhetoric. A film about Thatcher – one of my heroes, now thats my cuppa tea.

The Weinsteins have released the first poster for upcoming Oscar-botherer The Iron Lady, which stars Meryl Streep as former British Prime Minster Margaret Thatcher, and promises to feature an intimate portrait of the Conservative leader, who is still the only female to have sat as head of the British government.
The film, which also co-stars Jim Broadbent, Alexandra Roach, Harry Lloyd, Olivia Colman, Nicholas Farrell, Susan Brown, Roger Allam, Anthony Head, Julian Wadham, Pip Torrens, Nick Dunning, Richard E Grant, David Westhead, Angus Wright and most excitingly for me personally John Sessions (brilliant, brilliant man), is likely to be on a lot of people’s lips from it’s end of year release until the Academy Awards no doubt recognise it some way or another.
Anyway, here’s the poster…
Great looking poster, though the pallette used in Streep’s face makes her look decidedly Joker-like.

Meryl Streep stars as Margaret Thatcher in this first poster for The Weinstein Company’s The Iron Lady. I can appreciate the duality of the poster – it rings true. For a time in the 80′s Thatcher and England were synonymous with each other. The Soviet Union knew better not to cross the United Kingdom and “The Iron Lady”.
To be released on December 16, 2011, The Iron Lady is a surprising and intimate portrait of Margaret Thatcher (Meryl Streep), the first and only female Prime Minister of The United Kingdom. The thought of Meryl Streep playing Margaret Thatcher is about as exciting as film news gets. Now the Weinstein Company has released the poster for Iron Lady, the film based on the life of Thatcher and it features Streep front and center.
Thatcher was the first, and thus far only, female Prime Minister of the U.K. She was a woman who went toe-to-toe with the most powerful leaders in the world and was considered a confidant of Ronald Reagan’s. To say she broke barriers is one of the biggest understatements ever! That is why the casting of Streep as Thatcher is a stroke of genius.
The Iron Lady features a stellar cast including Jim Broadbent, Olivia Colman, Alexandra Roach, Richard E. Grant and Nick Dunning and arrives on screens in the U.S. December 16.

Hollywoodnews.com: It’s one of the few great unknowns in this year’s Oscar season. How will audiences (and, more important, Academy voters) take to Meryl Streep as Margaret Thatcher in “The Iron Lady?”
Though the film skipped the fall film festival circuit, most of us assume that Streep has an excellent shot at getting into the awards race just by showing up. Playing an historical figure only helps her chances at securing a nomination. But are we putting the cart way before the horse?
We won’t know for sure until we see the film. In the meantime, an official poster beautifully marrying Streep’s visage to London’s Parliament has been posted on Yahoo Movies! We have it below.

20th Century Fox International and Pathe UK released a new teaser trailer today for potential awards season player "The Iron Lady" which provides the first footage of Meryl Streep as iconic Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. The Weinstein Company will be releasing "Iron Lady" in the U.S., but don't expect them to go in this direction for their previews. This teaser starts off with the camera pointed at Roger Allam and Nick Dunning playing Thatcher's allies Gordon Reece (consultant for her 1979 campaign) and James Prior (Conservative party ally who eventually served in her cabinet). They are critiquing someone for political office. Hat? Pearls? ...

Purefoy and Kirwan in ITV's Injustice co. ITV
N Conrad
One episode left and it does not look as if Travers (James Purefoy) is going to live happily ever after, unless of course he manages to acquire another gun and take out the vicious thug of a cop who is on his trail. Poor Mrs Travers (Dervla Kirwan) saw her writing protege kill himself which was ironic in a sense since he did it in order to avoid being killed.
Tomorrow, Travers goes toe to toe with Nick Dunning who plays Jeremy Forbes-Watson. If Dunning’s character in Injustice is anything like as cunning as his character in The Tudors, then Travers is in real trouble. Just to add some spice to the drama, we now have a evil oil company thrown into the mix and, as always seemed probable, it turns out that the mistress of the other murderer...

In what looks reminiscent of when Margaret Thatcher came to power in 1979, have a look at the latest still from The Iron Lady. (via Thompson on Hollywood and DailyMail). Looking forward to a first trailer, but considering Thatcher’s accent, will Streep sound more like Julia Child (Julie And Julia) than Great Britain’s first female prime minister? I think there’s maybe a octave or two difference between these women’s voices. What do you think?

Now from slinky supermodels to Conservative MPs. A second image has been released of Meryl Streep as former British Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady. Last week we were among the first to deliver you this spooky portrait picture of the actress in character and now, courtesy of The Sun, comes picture number two!
According to the tabloid, the image below is from a scene during the “Poll Tax” years, a time in which the Conservative Party introduced what would later become the Council Tax and demonstrations against this new levy were a regular occurrence.
The Iron Lady, directed by “Mamma Mia” helmer, Phyllida Lloyd, also stars Jim Broadbent as Denis Thatcher, Richard E Grant, Olivia Colman, Nicholas Farrell, Susan Brown, Roger Allam, Anthony Head and John Sessions. Take a look at the new image below:

Pathé have announced that principle photography has begun on the big screen political biopic based on the life and career of Britain’s only female Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher. The film, The Iron Lady, stars Meryl Streep in the historic role and to celebrate, Pathé have sent us the first official image of Streep in character!
Beginning life as a grocer’s daughter, Margaret Thatcher was one of a new wave of politicians when she became a member of Parliament in 1955. Little did people know that over the next 35 years, Margaret Thatcher, or The Iron Lady as she was known, would rise to the top of the ranks in the Conservative party, become this country’s one and only female leader, take us into war with Iraq (for the first time) and into another war with Argentina. Love her or hate her, Margaret Thatcher was firmly embedded into the history...

Wow! With the mouthpiece and hair, Meryl Streep looks just like former British Prime Minister, Lady Margaret Thatcher. Uncanny resemblance.
From Pathe’:
