In his new uInterview, singer Johnny Orlando spoke about his newest albums The Ride: Part 1 and The Ride: Part 2, and how it reflects his emotional journey after experiencing heartbreak.
Orlando explained to uInterview founder Erik Meers how his breakup spurred the creation of the albums as he had never experienced something like this before.
“I was pretty heartbroken though, but it was the first like serious one where I was like off the map for a little bit. I had to figure out myself. And I mean it sucked, but the ride is pretty cool, so I’m happy that the music came out of it at least,” Orlando said.
Orlando decided to split the music into three separate albums, each one about a different stage in his healing journey.

The result is the four-track Butter Miracle, Suite One, due May 21st, which will be the band’s first release since 2014’s Somewhere Under Wonderland. By 1983, Rickie Lee Jones had had her share of surreal experiences. Her debut album, 1979’s Rickie Lee Jones, had transformed her into America’s leading boho pop star, thanks to its hit “Chuck E.’s in Love.” She’d made the cover of Rolling Stone, and her followup record, 1981’s Pirates, was one of the most critically acclaimed albums of that year. She was also in an on-again, off-again relationship with fellow songwriter Tom Waits and had begun using heroin.
In the summer of 1983, at age 28, Jones’ life appeared to be settling down.

As much of America continues to self-quarantine, the propensity to go stir crazy increases with each passing day. Celebrities are no different: bored out of their minds while sitting at home indefinitely. Maybe they are ceaselessly launching Instagram Lives just for some human connection. Maybe they’re teasing us with some quarantine writing session. Most likely, they’re sitting in their very large homes, marathoning movies until their eyes glaze over. Relatable! Celebs Are Bored highlights the absurd, inane and mundane decisions made by people who have an unexpectedly large amount of free time.

Adam Duritz delivered a stripped-back version of the Counting Crows’ “A Long December” on Jimmy Kimmel Live Thursday, March 11th.
The performance was spurred in part by the fact that the Counting Crows album on which “A Long December” appears, 1996’s massive Recovering the Satellites, will celebrate its 25th anniversary in October. But the song also feels somewhat apt as the United States passes the one-year mark of the Covid-19 pandemic — or as Duritz dryly put it before launching into the song, “Happy corona-versary everybody.”

It’s been almost one year since the coronavirus was declared a pandemic and Jimmy Kimmel is using a couple of his “Jimmy Kimmel Live” episodes this week to commemorate the corona-versary.
In Wednesday’s episode, Kimmel shared clips, filmed in March 2020 only days after the pandemic began, of him asking strangers on the street in Hollywood what they thought the coronavirus was. Most people didn’t seem phased, and you can tell some people really didn’t think it was going to last more than a handful of days, at most.

There are few actors who could make the receipt of a Facebook friend request feel as cataclysmic as Aldis Hodge does during the unexpected turning point of Tom Shadyac’s fact-based drama “Brian Banks.” As the eponymous lead, Hodge is tasked with carrying the weight of a story that seems too wild and strange to be real: a heartbreaking tale of false accusations and wrongful convictions that literally hinges on an odd olive branch extended via social media. Hodge sells it, just as he sells the rest of an otherwise chintzy film, a Lifetime movie-like drama that falls short of engaging with the many thorny issues it dramatizes.

Burning Down the House –Talking Heads, Nymphomaniac
It makes sense that an auteur as provocative and anarchic as Lars von Trier would use something as lyrically anarchic as the Talking Heads’ “Burning Down the House”, a track whose title is taken relatively literally as we watch Joe (Charlotte Gainsbourg) burn the car of her sex addiction therapist. Von Trier, to his credit, is a bit more clever than to use the track merely as an on the nose piece of revenge on Joe’s part; her burning the car comes immediately after her self-proclamation of being a Nymphomaniac, a title she finds empowering. She’s not only burning down that car, she’s burning down the entire paradigm of how we think about female sexuality.

One of the bright spots this past film year was the success of Disney’s Frozen. On the strength of it’s more modern princesses and an infectious score, the film set box office records and has garnered two Oscar nominations, Animated Feature and Best Original Song for “Let It Go”, its infectious hit. In honor of Frozen’s nomination, we figured it was time to take a look at the history of animated movies in Original Song.
The history of animated films picking up nominations and wins in Best Original Song is a tale as old as time (see what I did there?). Since the 1930s, animated films have won this award 13 times and over 50 nominations, which you can see below. This is an even greater feat when you think about the consideration that animated films get when lists of musicals are made (they...

The premise of this sketch from "SNL" last night had Counting Crows lead singer Adam Duritz hocking a compilation of what are supposedly the worst cover songs of all time, but honestly? Britney Spears covering "Hallelujah" would be amazing. As would a Lil Wayne and Susan Boyle duet of literally anything. (Of course, you can't see any of those yet because NBC hasn't posted this sketch online. Thankfully, Gaga and, um, Madonna have fans have made sure one part of it got up on YouTube.) Props to Lady Gaga for mocking the whole she-is-trying-to-be-Madonna controversy. Did it take anyone else an embarrassingly...

Lady Gaga made her "Saturday Night Live" hosting debut this weekend, pulling double duty as musical guest, and the "Applause" singer had no problem poking fun at herself.
In a sketch about an album titled, "Whaaat? The Worst Cover Songs of All Time," Gaga hilariously mocked her feud with Madonna and the "Born This Way"/ "Express Yourself" controversy.
Counting Crows' lead singer Adam Duritz (played by Taran Killam) opened the sketch -- a TV ad for a compilation CD featuring ear-bleed-inducing performances, starting with Britney Spears (Noel Wells) singing Leonard Cohen's ballad, "Hallelujah."

The first time Lady Gaga appeared on Saturday Night Live in 2009, she showed up for three minutes to have a catfight with Madonna. Now she's the host, the musical guest, and the bigger star. On Saturday night's show, Gaga went full-circle, making fun of her own music's resemblance to Madonna's hits. But the moment was just a blip on the screen, during a night when Gaga rarely left the stage. Turns out that SNL is an ideal showcase for one of Lady Gaga's greatest strengths as a performer: creating characters.

We gasped when AMC all but ordered a Breaking Bad spin-off featuring slimy Saul Goodman. We squealed in delight when Warner Bros. and J.K. Rowling announced their new collaboration: a film series set in Rowling’s wizarding world and based on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
And now we’re waiting with bated breath, because if we’ve learned anything, it’s that big news often comes in threes. (Even if, uh, it doesn’t really.)
So! Let’s spend a few minutes speculating about what tantalizing, fan-baity reunion/reboot/release announcement could follow the news about Saul and Beasts.

Counting Crows lead singer Adam Duritz opened up about his dark battle with depersonalization disorder during an interview with HuffPost Live on Thursday.
After host Rick Camilleri asked about the long gaps between Counting Crows studio albums, Duritz explained that several years ago his mental health issues began to effect his perception of reality, rendering him unable to write songs.
"It makes the world seem like it's not real sometimes, like you're just imagining it," Duritz said.
And at a time when he needed friends the most, Duritz said he was unable to find solace in anyone else.
"There's not much other people can do," he said. "The stuff that goes on inside your head, there's not really any way for anyone to get between you and it."

Mystery solved.
Since its release in 1993, the Counting Crows hit "Mr. Jones" has left fans wondering about the identity of the song's namesake. Lead singer Adam Duritz revealed all during an interview with HuffPost Live on Thursday.
One long-running theory claimed the tune was about Duritz's penis, but the truth is much more safe for work. The enigmatic "Mr. Jones" is actually Marty Jones, a bassist and longtime friend of Duritz.
The singer told host Ricky Camilleri he was inspired to pen the song after he and Jones went out to a Los Angeles bar and spotted another musician romancing three women at once in the corner.
"We couldn't even manage to talk to girls," Duritz said. "We were just thinking if we were rock stars, it would be easier. I went home and wrote the song."

Sometimes, two ladies make out with each other in major motion pictures. Other times, they not only make out with each other — they simulate sexual intercourse with each other. And because the Internet exists, each of those instances is easily accessible to everybody with a computer, context-free. I know, right? And some people claim to be "pessimists?" (laughs to himself.)

The Broken Lizard comedy troupe has come a long way from its humble beginnings at Colgate University. While Jay Chandrasekhar and Kevin Hefferman serve as the ring leaders, Broken Lizard tends to play by its own rules, with no singular executive producer who chooses the team’s material. It’s worked for the boys, as they’ve created the funniest film in the last decade with Super Troopers, and have thrived today making many comedy pictures. One of those Freeloaders, about five guys and one girl living in the home of Adam Duritz free of charge, but when Adam sells the home, they do everything they can to ensure they keep the place. A few weeks ago we got our first look at the trailer (see below) for the Broken Lizard-related, Freeloaders, and today we have an exclusive clip from the film, which may tap into one of your "what if" scenarios (the film isn't actually directed/written by Broken Lizard, but it stars all of the boys). The film centers on the titular "freeloaders" who live in a rock star's house (an actual rock star in this case, played by The Counting Crows' Adam Duritz) who find themselves...

Here's a story for y'all: Way back in January of 2009, the comedy troop known as Broken Lizard ("Super Troopers," "Beerfest") began filming "Freeloaders." But despite the cult status of their previous efforts, "Freeloaders" has been sitting on a shelf for nearly four years, gathering dust, leading fans to wonder why.
Well, the first trailer for "Freeloaders" has finally arrived and now we know exactly why nobody wanted to release this movie for the last four years.
Is it too late to put this back on the shelf?
That's not to say there aren't some theoretical reasons to watch "Freeloaders," of course. For instance, you may be studying the film oeuvre of Olivia Munn, which seems unlikely, but anything is apparently possible in this world. Or maybe you're the world's biggest fan of Nat Faxon, who since filming "Freeloaders" has gone on to headline the Fox sitcom "Ben and Kate." Or maybe.
