Popular medical drama House has just been added to Hulu on Tuesday (November 7)!
The eight-season Fox series centered on Dr. Gregory House, who is devoid of anything resembling bedside manner and wouldn’t even talk to his patients if he could get away with it. Dealing with his own constant physical pain, he uses a cane that seems to punctuate his acerbic, brutally honest demeanor.
While his behavior can border on antisocial, House is a brilliant diagnostician whose unconventional thinking and flawless instincts afford him widespread respect. An infectious disease specialist, House thrives on the challenge of solving medical puzzles in order to save lives.
The series featured quite the cast over the course of it’s run: Hugh Laurie, Robert Sean Leonard, Omar Epps, Jesse Spencer, Lisa Edelstein, Jennifer Morrison, Peter Jacobson, Olivia Wilde, Kal Penn, Amber Tamblyn, Odette Annable and Charlyne Yi.

“The Good Doctor” actress Lisa Edelstein told TheWrap that until she signed on to play a Holocaust survivor who adopts a native Canadian girl in the PBS drama “Little Bird,” she had “no idea” about the government program called “the Sixties Scoop.”
“It was a really horrible system. Everybody knew about it [at the time]. It was just considered the normal thing to do and it’s horrific,” she says of the thousands of indigenous children who were taken from their families in the 1960s.
Edelstein was able to talk about the six-part Canadian series, which premiered on Oct. 12, because PBS productions are considered “non-struck” work during the SAG-AFTRA strike.
Without directly addressing the harrowing Hamas attacks on Israel this week, she added, “Even in this horrific time period that we’re in right now, there’s something about storytelling and understanding each other’s trauma and trying to be human beings. This is very profound right now.

Public television has held separate collective bargaining agreements with the Writers Guild and SAG-AFTRA for years. So, while studios and networks this fall faced the ramifications of dual Hollywood strikes, it’s been mostly business as usual at PBS.
Perhaps lost in the conversation about this most unusual fall — in which the broadcast networks tweaked and re-tweaked their schedules in light of the lengthy production stoppage — has been PBS’ ability to keep the majority of its schedule intact.
In fact, according to Sylvia Bugg, PBS’ chief programming executive and Gm of general audience programming, just one program on its fall lineup was impacted by the strikes: John Leguizamo’s “American História: The Untold History of Latinos,” which had been scheduled to premiere last month. In solidarity with the strikes, Leguizamo opted to delay the project until 2024. PBS replaced it with another docuseries, “Becoming Frida Kahlo.”

Lisa Edelstein reveals she recently was paid 97 cents in residuals for the two episodes of “Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce” which she wrote and starred in.
The actress shared the information as she walked the blue carpet at the 2023 Hollyshorts Film Festival’s opening night on Thursday night where she stars in two films being screened, “Swipe NYC” and “Shadow Brother Sunday.”
“I wrote two episodes of ‘Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce’ and I just got a residual check for two episodes for 97 cents. That’s not really a livable wage and that’s a show that is doing well because it was airing on a streamer somewhere,” she told Variety. “It’s our heart and souls. It’s our creativity that’s making these people a lot of money and we should really get paid.”

For over 100 years, the Motion Picture & Television Fund has provided financial support and services to entertainment industry members in need of help. That need has never been greater as the actors strike stretches into its third week and the writers strike into its third month — both with no end in sight and thousands unable to work.
To support the fund, Max Greenfield, Darren Criss, Colman Domingo, Yvette Nicole Brown and Harry Shum Jr. joined hundreds of guests on the Neuhouse Hollywood rooftop on Sunday night for the MPTF Next Gen Summer Party.
While the mood was festive, the strikes and their implications for Hollywood were never far from anyone’s mind.
“There are people who have asked, ‘Why are you going to a party?’ But we need this funding to be able to help people,” explained Brown. “I was talking to [MPTF president] Bob Beitcher, who said that the fund was...

Alan Arkin was remembered by his friends and colleagues as a giant talent in film, television and theater, a man whose winding life paths seemed to be able to transform any role. But it was the small gestures that were most prominent, the little generosities that stayed with people many years.
The outpouring of remembrances included some of Hollywood’s biggest names.
Michael Douglas saluted Arkin’s long career.
“Today we lost a wonderful actor whose intelligence, sense of comedy and consummate professionalism over the past 70 years has left an indelible mark on our industry. My experience of working with Alan were some of my most memorable. He will be deeply missed. Sincere condolences to his wife, Suzanne, and his family.”

Aaron Sorkin‘s The West Wing is one of the most optimistic shows to air on television. From 1999 to 2006, President Josiah “Jed” Bartlet, played by the versatile veteran actor Martin Sheen, and his idealistic staff of deep thinkers presented the illusion that Capitol Hill was where the finest minds in America worked together to find the right answers, and got bonus points for the most self-righteous. The NBC series began the same year as HBO’s The Sopranos, and could be seen as its polar opposite, though the two shows had many similarities. Both were considered dramas, but had so many individual laugh lines they veered into comedy. Each featured a strong leader who faced crises, at home and abroad.
Starting with the very first episode, President Bartlet confronted beltway blowback, global dissension, and harsh life-threatening decisions. Some of these issues were personal, because a president’s private life affects the political process.

There was so much to love about T.K. (Ronen Rubinstein) and Carlos’ (Rafael Silva) wedding in the 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 4 finale, but we didn’t quite see everything that was filmed. And now, TV Insider can exclusively reveal a deleted scene that didn’t make the cut from before the ceremony. “You look perfect for a perfect day,” Owen (Rob Lowe) tells his son. “Almost perfect,” T.K. corrects him. “I think even the grave couldn’t keep your mother away,” Owen notes, which is true, since we did see Gwyn (Lisa Edelstein) at one point. Meanwhile, Carlos checks with his mom Andrea (Roxana Brusso) that he’s doing the right thing, after his father’s murder. “The day you asked your father to be your best man, he was the happiest I’ve ever seen him, so yes, you’re damn right we’re doing the right thing,...

Montreal-based Rezolution Pictures, behind Sundance winner “Rumble: The Indians Who Rocked the World,” and Winnipeg-based Op Little Bird have partnered with Fremantle International on Jennifer Podemski and Hannah Moscovitch’s original drama series “Little Bird,” which is set to premiere on Crave and Aptn in Canada.
The series, which stars Darla Contois and Lisa Edelstein, follows the life of Bezhig Little Bird, a victim of the Sixties Scoop in Saskatchewan wherein First Nations children were abducted and placed in foster homes before being put up for adoption by white families.
Told in parallel timelines, “Little Bird” quickly contrasts Bezhig’s childhood with her engagement party – only this time as Esther Rosenblum, a woman in her 20s on the cusp of life, and suddenly wracked with repressed memories. As a showrunner, Podemski, who is herself both Indigenous and Jewish, is perfectly positioned to give authenticity and meaning to the matter. She...

Next Level Chef is cooking with gas, and as such has been renewed by Fox for a second season — just hours ahead of its freshman finale (airing tonight at 9/8c).
Averaging a 1.1 demo rating (with Live+7 DVR playback factored in), the Gordon Ramsay-hosted, three-story cooking competition ties 9-1-1: Lone Star for second amongst the 19 entertainment programs Fox has aired this TV season, trailing only 9-1-1 and The Masked Singer. Viewers were left in shock last month when 9-1-1: Lone Star shockingly killed off Lisa Edelstein's Gwyn.
9-1-1: Lone Star Season 3 Episode 8 focused on Owen (Rob Lowe) and T.K. (Ronen Rubinstein) processing the development.
Lowe shed light on why the character was written off the show in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
"We felt like this was the best resolve of her character's arc," he explained.
"She lives in New York, she has a significant other in New York, she's [just had] his baby. Those are stories that certainly wouldn't fit in the 9-1-1: Lone Star Texas universe."
"She lives a separate life there. So it had kind of run its course."
"The question was, 'What's the most fulfilling, dramatic, juicy [way] to service that story?'"
"And you know, there's nothing more dramatic than an unexpected death, as opposed to her just being on...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 3, Episode 8 “In the Unlikely Event of an Emergency.”] Following Gwyn’s (Lisa Edelstein) sudden death — she was hit by a bicycle — her son T.K. (Ronen Rubinstein) and ex-husband Owen (Rob Lowe) head to New York for her funeral. But unfortunately, they never make it on 9-1-1: Lone Star. Instead, an emergency mid-air — the plane loses an engine — requires the first responders to step up, saving the woman who had been in their row and was briefly sucked out through the window. And after doing so, T.K. admits to Owen that he found him at the firehouse earlier, in the ambulance, because he was planning to get so high, nothing mattered. But he knew what that would have done to Gwyn, who had been the one to get him into rehab (as seen in heartbreaking flashbacks). Rubinstein breaks down the intense episode,...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not watched “In the Unlikely Event of an Emergency,” the Feb. 28 episode of “9-1-1: Lone Star.”
Gwyn Morgan (Lisa Edelstein) went as far as she could with her son, T.K. Strand (Ronen Rubinstein), on Monday’s “9-1-1: Lone Star” before leaving him to go the rest of the way on his own — both in the past and the present. Monday’s episode featured two parallel storylines, one in which a devastated T.K. and Owen (Rob Lowe) are heading to Gwyn’s funeral on a plane from Austin to New York City in 2022 following her sudden off-screen death on last week’s “Lone Star,” and the other a flashback to 2017, when Gwyn flew detoxing heroin addict T.K. to rehab from New York to California.

Six months after debuting its final season, Netflix’s “The Kominsky Method” has just revealed to Gold Derby the names of the 12 cast members who are eligible for the ensemble prize at the 2022 Screen Actors Guild Awards. Two-time SAG Award winner Michael Douglas is joined by former nominees including Paul Reiser and Sarah Baker, plus new addition Kathleen Turner. See the alphabetical list below.
“The Kominsky Method” has a strong track record at the SAG Awards. Its first two seasons both earned three nominations for ensemble, Douglas and Alan Arkin. Arkin departed the series before the final installment, so he will not be eligible. Gold Derby anticipates the series is competitive to hold onto its other two nominations, though, with both the ensemble and Douglas in sixth place in our current combined odds.
