The Pythons are back with a bang! The comedy troupe promise a sexy, high-octane show, despite most of them being in their seventies. On Tuesday, Monty Python's John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin are set to perform together in the U.K. for the first time in 40 years. During a press conference at the London Palladium on the eve of the world premiere of "Monty Python Live (Mostly): One Down, Five To Go" at The O2 Arena, John Cleese summarized the show as "somewhere between a theatre show and a rock show." That description was fitting,...

"Monty Python" actor John Cleese is doing everything he can to fund his pricey 2008 divorce from Alyce Faye Eichelberger.

The items will be sold on the Original Memorabilia Company website and include props such as a fiberglass helmet from "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," as well as signed photographs from famous "Monty Python" and "Fawlty Towers" sketches.
Cleese and Eichelberger -- an American psychotherapist -- divorced in 2008 after 16 years of marriage. Their 2009 divorce settlement stipulated that he pay his ex-wife $13 million in cash and assets, and nearly $1 million a year until 2016. The former couple has no children.

John Cleese was upset for 'two years' following the breakdown of his first marriage. The three-times wed actor is grateful he stayed friends with Connie Booth - who he married in 1968 - after they split because they shared so much 'love' for one another. He said: 'When Connie and I broke up in 1978, I was very upset for about two years. There was a great deal of love in that relationship, and we've managed to remain good friends.' John split with third wife Alyce Faye Eichelberger in 2008 and had to pay her a divorce settlement worth around £12 million. Because...

John Cleese thinks he is getting worse at marriage. The 71-year-old funnyman divorced third wife Alyce Faye Eichelberger in 2008 and thinks his relationships with his former spouses have been increasingly strained and gone progressively downhill. He said: 'I'm not very good at marriage. And the awful thing is, well probably, I've got worse at it. I'm definitely going backwards. 'I'm still on very, very good terms with Connie Booth, we talk all the time, you know, and we still laugh together. We always loved each other. I mean, we confused everyone by writing the first series of 'Fawlty Towers', getting divorced...

John Cleese's girlfriend gives him an "immediate being-in-love thing", which his last two wives didn't inspire in him. The three-times married "Monty Python" star is happier than ever in his romance with 39-year-old jeweler Jennifer Wade, admitting she makes him feel the way his first spouse, Connie Booth did, unlike his unions with Barbara Trentham and Alyce Faye Eichelberger who were just "ticking boxes".
"In the past I was more ticking boxes, not having an immediate being-in-love thing, which I did have with Connie," the 70-year-old star told the Sunday Times newspaper. John Cleese has said that his recent financial difficulties are the result of his "naive side". John Cleese blames his "very naive side" for his financial woes, admitting he never imagined losing a huge chunk of his fortune in his costly divorce settlement.
The Monty Python star was last year forced to hand his ex-wife Alyce Faye Eichelberger $12 million (£8 million) in cash and assets - including a New York apartment, a London property, and a share in a beach house in California.
He then hit the road with a one-man comedy tour to keep on top of the additional $918,000 (£612,000) monthly payments he must make to Eichelberger annually for the next six years.
But the funnyman admits he never expected the messy split to empty his bank account.
Cleese tells Britain's Daybreak show, "There's a very naive side to me. I don't plot a great deal, I don't plot or plan... My ex-wife and I were in therapy for quite a long time, two or three years, so it wasn't a surprise we were having problems. (But) when we split up, I thought it was going to be as easy and painless as it was the first two times with Connie (Booth) and with Barbara (Trentham)."
However, the funnyman refuses to let his past heartbreak keep him from marrying again: "I love women and I think on the whole I have better, deeper conversations with women than I have with men. Yes, I think so (I would remarry). Not until it would cease to shock and alarm my friends, who've formed a little gang who say they're coming to kneecap (me) if I mention the word."...

John Cleese launched his one-man comedy show in Oslo, Norway with a series of nasty digs aimed at his ex-wife Alyce Faye Eichelberger.
The Monty Python legend is hitting the road with his production How To Finance Your Divorce Tour to earn more cash after he was ordered to hand over a huge lump of his fortune to his third wife in their divorce settlement.
Opening the tour to a sell-out audience on Friday, Cleese had fans in hysterics as he joked about his ex in a bitter tirade.
He told the crowd at the Konserthus venue, "I'm here, my friends, because frankly I need the money. I've fallen on hard times. I'm having to pay $20 million to a woman who I believe is the special lovechild of Bernie Madoff and Heather Mills.
"I'm being forced to hit the road again to rack up a few grand here and a few hundred there. To comfort me my lawyer told me to imagine how much I would have had to pay if Alyce had contributed anything to the relationship - such as children, or a conversation."
Cleese, whose marriage to Eichelberger lasted from 1992 to 2008, will perform the show for a week in Oslo, before heading to the U.S.

Cleese made no secret of his anger at the judge's decision, insisting at the time of the divorce in August that Eichelberger's children would get more than his if they both died.
Now, Cleese has decided to open a one-man show in Oslo, Norway in a bid to recoup some of his lost wealth.
And the 69 year old takes aim at his ex in an interview with a Norwegian newspaper, admitting he would rather be enjoying his retirement than hitting the road to earn cash.
He says, "I get angry that I have to pack my trunk, just to go away to make money.

"I'd rather have been drinking coffee, reading books and writing. I can't afford that now."
The show, entitled A Ludicrous Evening with John Cleese..., will run for seven nights in Oslo, before heading to the U.S.

Monty Python star John Cleese is bouncing back financially after he was forced to hand over a multi-million dollar pay out to his ex-wife - he reportedly earned $1 million (£666,000) for 23 minutes work on the latest Shrek movie.
Earlier this month the actor was ordered to give ex Alyce Faye Eichelberger $12 million (£8 million) in cash and assets - including a New York apartment, a London property, and a share in a beach house in California - on top of another $918,000 (£612,000) annually for the next seven years.
Cleese was fuming with the ruling, insisting the divorce settlement means his former wife is now richer than he is.
But it doesn't seem as though the veteran British funnyman will be left desolate - he received $1 million (£666,000) for lending his voice to forthcoming Shrek Forever for under half an hour.
The star, who played King Herald in the earlier outings of the hit animated franchise, received the mammoth amount for just one scene.
A source tells Britain's News of the World newspaper, "This is the ultimate sign that John can still make the big bucks."...

Monty Python star John Cleese is furious after a court ruled he must hand his third wife a multi-million dollar payout as part of their divorce settlement.
The actor has been ordered to give Alyce Faye Eichelberger $12 million (£8 million) in cash and assets - including a New York apartment, a London property, and a share in a beach house in California - on top of another $918,000 (£612,000) annually for the next seven years.
As a result, the 69-year-old star's overall wealth will total at around $15 million (£10 million).
Cleese is angry with the settlement - because it will make his former wife of 16 years, who he has no children with, wealthier than he is.
He says, "What I find so unfair is that if we both died today, her children would get much more than mine."
He was also able to poke fun at the ruling, adding, "At least I will know in future if I go out with a lady they will not be after me for my money."
Cleese's former wife had originally asked for even more cash, alleging her ex was a "world-renowned celebrity" who had allowed her to become accustomed to "being entertained by royalty and dignitairies in castles".
She demanded half his earnings since their 1992 wedding, half his properties and another $900,000 (£600,000) to live on every year.
But in March a judge branded her demands "excessive", granting Cleese a discount by cutting his monthly payments from $153,000 (£102,000) to $82,000 (£55,000).
Legal forms to finalise the settlement were filed in a California court last week (begs 10Aug09).

Legal forms to finalise the settlement were filed in a California court last week (begs 10Aug09).

Actor John Cleese has won a court battle to get his $1.8 million (£1.3 million)-a-year divorce pay-out to his ex-wife halved.
The Monty Python star had hit out at the original settlement last May with third wife Alyce Faye Eichelberger, following their split after 16 years of marriage.
And a U.S. judge agrees with the star - cutting Cleese's monthly payments to Eichelberger from $153,000 (£106,000) to $82,000 (£57,000).
A source tells British newspaper The Daily Mail, "The settlement has been cut back because it was unrealistic. The lawyers had been wrangling for some time. They are still fighting it out, but I think a final decision is expected in the next two weeks."...

John Cleese knew his relationship with Barbie Orr was over when he discovered she was using the media in a desperate bid to "resuscitate" their romance. The Fawlty Towers star began dating Orr during his divorce from his third wife Alyce Faye Eichelberger, but they split late last year after three months together.
And Cleese knew he had made the right decision when he later suspected Orr of trying to manipulate the publicity surrounding their love affair.
He tells Hello! magazine, "About two months ago I said to her, 'I think we should just be friends'. We went outside to the car park and she said, 'Can I have a hug?' I thought, 'All right'.
"A few days later the pictures were in the press. I think she knew it was over and was trying to resuscitate it using the media.

John Cleese ended his relationship with girlfriend Barbie Orr in a furious phone call after discovering she had spoken about their love life in a British newspaper. The Fawlty Towers star met Orr at an audition in October while he was in the midst of divorcing his third wife Alyce Faye Eichelberger.
The 69-year-old was left red-faced after the aspiring actress told a U.K. tabloid intimate details about their romance last month, describing the star's naked body and recalling their first sexual encounter.
Cleese ended the relationship by leaving an angry message on her cell phone - and has subsequently ignored all her attempts to contact him.
Orr says, "John called me. He was absolutely furious and he just broke up with me. He doesn't even want to talk about it.
"He said in 43 years of being famous no one had ever done anything like this to him."
And Orr was further devastated when she received a text message from Cleese's daughter, Camilla, warning her to stay away from her father.
Orr adds, "He's upset, I'm upset. It's awful. I am a good, caring person, who does work for charity and looks after animals. I do not deserve this!"...

John Cleese's younger lover was initially reluctant to sleep with the elderly comic - because she wasn't sure what his naked body would look like.
Actress Barbie Orr, 27, met Cleese, 69, at an audition in October while he was in the midst of divorcing his third wife Alyce Faye Eichelberger.
Orr worried she wouldn't be attracted to the Fawlty Towers star in the bedroom - but she was won over because he was a "great kisser".
She says, "I kept picturing him naked. I wondered what someone that old looks like and would I actually sleep with them? For his birthday I was thinking about buying him a Zimmer frame (walking aid)."
And Orr admits that she was surprised Cleese was in such good shape - "for an old guy".
She adds: "You know, they're normally saggy down there, but he has a really nice package. He takes a lot of vitamin supplements and eats really well and he works out. His arms are really muscular and he still has amazing legs.
"He's had his teeth redone and he recently got hair plugs to cover the bald patches at the front."...

British funnyman John Cleese has laughed off rumours he's romancing a woman 34 years his junior, insisting he's not yet ready to give up his "selfish" ways.
The Fawlty Towers star, 68, was alleged to be dating blonde marketing executive Veronica Smiley, 34, just months after splitting from his third wife Alyce Faye Eichelberger in January 2008.
But he claims their relationship has been vastly exaggerated by the media.
He says, "Oh, Smiley's great fun. She's helping me with a speech I have to do on marketing. But that all got blown up.

British comedian John Cleese is bitter about having to work well into his old age - but he has to take on acting roles to help pay for his third divorce.
The A Fish Called Wanda star, 68, is facing a multi-million dollar pay out to Alyce Faye Eichelberger following their split earlier this year after 16 years of marriage.
Cleese is currently paying out just over $1.64 million (GBP1 million) a year to his estranged wife until they reach a divorce settlement. She is also entitled to half of his earnings since their 1992 marriage and half of his nine properties across the world.
He says, "People would think I'd have enough money (to retire), but I do have a very expensive, or comparatively expensive, divorce.
"When I divorced (second wife) Barbara (Trentham) in about '88 that cost me GBP2.5 million ($4.1 million) then. And now this divorce with Alyce Faye - I mean, I'm paying more than GBP1 million a year right now. And we never had children.
"I feel angry sometimes. But my anger is not so much about sharing the property but having to go on working hard to provide alimony for someone who's already going to have at least $10 million (GBP6 million) worth of property, and who's getting GBP1 million this year.
"At some point, you say, 'Well, what did I do wrong? You know, I was the breadwinner.' The system is insane."
And, although Cleese claims to be happy single, he admits the pressure of the divorce proceedings is wearing him down.
He adds, "It's about the fact that in my 70th year I will still be spending two months a year doing work that is of no interest to me and which is probably slightly spiritually depleting, in order to feed the beast.
"(But) this is the happiest I have ever been and I feel that, at 68 now, I want as many years as I can get."...

Veteran actress Britt Ekland has dismissed rumours she is dating former Monty Python star John Cleese - insisting the pair is just friends.
The Bond girl was reportedly romancing the newly single Cleese after he was spotted attending her performance at a theatre in Edinburgh, Scotland earlier this month.

But Ekland, who was previously married to the late Peter Sellers, is adamant Cleese is just a close pal.
She says, "John did come to see (my show) Britt on Britt. We went for dinner and had a great time. But it wasn't just me and him - there's no romance on the cards."

Monty Python star John Cleese has slammed his estranged spouse Alyce for demanding half his earnings in their bitter divorce battle, blaming insecurity for her actions.
The British actor is currently embroiled in divorce proceedings with his third wife, Alyce Faye Eichelberger Cleese. The couple separated in January after 19 years of marriage.
And Cleese, 68, is outraged Alyce is trying to claim half of his earnings and properties for herself.
Speaking to reporters at a fundraiser for England's Bristol Zoo on Thursday, he ranted: "Guess how much I'm paying her at the moment? I'm paying her GBP900,000 a year. And we had no children.
"It really is astonishing. When I told my friends, they just put their heads in their hands.
"I've suggested it would be much easier and more fair if we went to mediation. But I guess Alyce is just feeling insecure and wants to get everything she can."
But the comedian admitted he had found something to smile about in the midst of the ongoing ordeal - his newfound "friendship" with 33-year-old marketing executive Veronica Smiley.
He added: "The tabloid newspapers go on about her being half my age, but I'm not sure that matters. She's absolutely gorgeous and incredibly intelligent... All my friends were quite jealous when they saw her."...

Monty Python star John Cleese will lose his New York apartment and plush London home in a bitter divorce battle, according to the actor's pal Michael Winner.
The actor is currently divorcing estranged spouse Alyce Faye Eichelberger Cleese.
He was forced in May to pay her $150,000 (GBP75,000) a month in temporary maintenance fees. And it is believed Eichelberger is now demanding two houses, half of Cleese's earnings since 1992, plus further maintenance dues of $1.8 million (GBP900,000) per year, claiming she has no money of her own.
And film director Winner fears his friend will lose his fortune and property empire.
He says, "Until the divorce is settled, she's on GBP900,000-a-year maintenance, plus use of a beach house in Santa Barbara and other properties. Not bad for a 15-year marriage that did not produce any children.

Monty Python star John Cleese is confident his divorce proceedings against his third wife will be "worth every penny".
The actor appeared in a California court on Tuesday, where a judge ordered him to pay his estranged spouse Alyce Faye Eichelberger Cleese $150,000 (GBP75,000) a month in temporary maintenance.
Speaking outside the court, a wheelchair-bound Cleese - following surgery on his knee the previous day - said, "It's going to be very, very expensive - but it will be worth every penny."
Eichelberger is reported to be asking for two houses, half of Cleese's earnings since 1992, plus maintenance of $1.8 million (GBP900,000) per year - while claiming she has no money of her own.
Jacqueline Misho, Eichelberger's lawyer, told the court her client has "nothing, zero, because Mr Cleese has not seen fit to pay any support up to this point."
Cleese has however questioned his estranged wife's reasoning, saying, "When Ms Misho said my wife has absolutely no money, it puzzled me how she could be staying at the Carlyle Hotel in a room that costs $1,185 (GBP590) a night."
The comedian confirmed he has accepted an offer to sell his Santa Barbara ranch for $16.5 million (GBP8.25 million).
