The 2nd annual PollyGrind assaults Las Vegas during an epic length film festival that runs Oct. 8-17 at Theatre 7 with enough sleaze and violence to make Sin City residents feel right at home.
Actually, the fest does open up on the 7th with a concert at Neon Venus with local acts like Monster Zero, Creepersin and many more.
However, the film portion of the fest opens on the 8th with Stuart Simpson‘s acclaimed Australian gorefest El Monstro Del Mar!, one of the best Russ Meyer/Roger Corman mash-ups with a Down Under twist. Read the Bad Lit: The Journal of Underground Film review of this gem here.
Other Bad Lit favorites in the lineup are Drew Bolduc and Dan Nelson‘s The Taint, which is still completely grossing out audiences on the festival circuit, and The Uh-Oh Show, the splatter-filled horror comedy by the Godfather of Gore himself Herschell Gordon Lewis.

We recently told you about the upcoming PollyGrind Film Festival, one of the premiere grindhouse film festivals, that's set to celebrate all-things B-Movie style in Las Vegas this October. The madman behind the festival, Chad Clinton Freeman, announced today this year's PollyGrind line-up and it looks pretty sweet!
And not only is PollyGrind celebrating films, the fest is also celebrating several indie music acts slated to perform during the fest, a Zombiepalooza celebration and a whole lot more! Read on for all the details for the Second Annual PollyGrind Film Festival!
From the Press Release:
It's been called "the key festival for indie cult filmmakers to land distribution deals." Its founder and programmer has been called the "new champion of unabashed B-movie sleaze." Those praises might seem a bit outlandish, but with the official announcement of the PollyGrind Film Festival's schedule, it's easy to see where they come from.

It’s lucky 13 for the Boston Underground Film Festival as they celebrate their raucous 13th annual edition this year. Opening with the much buzzed about bloody feature film Hobo With a Shotgun starring Rutger Hauer and directed by Jason Eisener, the fest then barrels on for eight wild nights and days from March 24-31.
While there’s plenty of underground goodness from the U.S.A., this year Buff feels like it’s a much more international affair with several sick features from around the globe. There’s gory horror and quirky black comedy from Japan in the guise of Yoshihiro Nishimura’s Helldriver and Sion Sono’s Cold Fish; the Argentinian freak-out Phase7 by Nicolas Goldbart; David Blyth’s Wound is a psychological thriller from New Zealand; and Mark Hartley’s Machete Maidens Unleashed! is a look at Philippine exploitation cinema from the ’70s.

Back in March of 2009 our official scumbag and celebrity nude expert Chris Cooper showed me the short, Attack of the Staph Spider (read review) by Aramis Sartorio. While I normally hate short films I instantly fell in love with it and wished it were a feature length movie... Well I got my wish. Sartorio just sent us over the cover art and trailer for The Gruesome Death of Tommy Pistol, the feature length version of Attack of the Staph Spider. The short and the trailer have a very fun Troma type vibe and Aramis Sartorio delivers a Bruce Campbell worthy performance in both. The film stars Mia Tyler (2005 Celebrity Fit Club), Caleb Emerson (Die You Zombie Bastards), Kimberly Kane (Adult Star), and Aramis Sartorio (Breath of Hate).

Director David Harris sent along some exclusive pics (see them below) from his fright feature Savage County, an MTV production which will be presented in eight 10-minute on-line installments beginning next February. Lensed in Memphis, Tn this past summer, the movie (scripted by Harris and Dan Alvarado) is about a group of high-schoolers who run afoul of a vicious backwoods family, the Hardells.
Savage County is an unabashed homage to vintage rural horrors of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre breed, though Harris notes it has a true-life inspiration as well. “I grew up in Texas,” he tells Fango, “and as a kid, I was 100 percent sure that Chainsaw 1 and 2 were documentaries. We had a big woods near our neighborhood, with a 1800s house and a rambling old man with a shotgun and 100 cats—basically, a slightly less decrepit ‘Grandpa.’ That was the original big scare for me, and there was no...

Fango heard from Noah Segan, the busy genre actor who will soon be seen in Marcel Sarmiento and Gadi Harel’s Deadgirl, Ti West’s Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever and Deon Taylor’s Chain Letter, updating us about Someone’S Knocking At The Door, which he stars in and produced. We also got some new exclusive pics and a festival poster for the Chad Ferrin-directed feature, which we first told you about here; you can see ’em below.
“We are presently about to premiere Someone’S Knocking in competition at Amsterdam’s Imagine festival, where two of Chad’s other films have premiered,” Segan (first photo) tells us. “It is a fantastic relationship to maintain, and Deadgirl will play there as well. We are very shortly going to announce an amazing domestic fest premiere for Someone’S Knocking, at a very well-regarded and hip program here on the West Coast.

Filmmaker/makeup FX artist Tom Devlin gave Fango the scoop that his latest movie The Trek will be hitting DVD April 11 from Plan 10 Pictures, and gave us a first look at the cover art (see below). The survival-horror opus is the third collaboration between Devlin (serving as writer/producer/FX supervisor) and Lola Wallace (director/writer/editor) after Legend Of The Sandsquatch and Ghoulde Creek.
The Trek stars Erin Fleming and Brett Hundley as Kim and Keith Russell, newlyweds who are terrorized during their honeymoon trip into the mountains by a group of malformed savages. The cast also includes Devlin himself, John Karyus and Splatter Disco’s Trent Haaga, with a brief appearance by Die You Zombie Bastards! director Caleb Emerson. On the unrated disc, the enhanced widescreen transfer will be accompanied by:
• Audio commentary by Wallace, Devlin, Fleming, Hundley and Karyus • Audio commentary by Wallace, Devlin, director of photography...
