Sean Cronin, who will soon be stepping foot in J.K. Rowling’s world of witchcraft and wizardry for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them later this year, is attached to helm a boxing biopic based on the life and career of British middleweight fighter, Michael Watson.
Variety has the scoop, revealing that the feature now holds the title Michael, and will chart Watson’s gruelling recovery after he was knocked into a coma by Chris Eubank back in ’91. A landmark moment for the sport that witnessed the inimitable Muhammad Ali visit Watson’s bedside, Cronin’s big-screen rendition will also chronicle how the knockout affected the British Board of Boxing Control and, in particular, how the governing body altered the rules when it came to ringside medical care.

In a year that's already seen BBQ Champ, Flockstars and (sort of) Youth Hostelling with Chris Eubank, there's now another contender for most Partridge-esque reality show.
Watch has commissioned Battlechefs, which follows celebrities competing in a cruise ship kitchen to impress Marco Pierre White.
12 bizarre TV shows that weren't invented by Alan Partridge - honest
Ten amateur celebrity chefs - including Blur's Alex James, Keith Duffy from Boyzone and EastEnders' John Partridge - will take on the challenge.
They will take it in turns to command the kitchen, cooking for the ship's captain and VIP guests.
There will be two separate cruises, with five stars competing on each, and the show will also explore the locations at which the ships stop, particularly the food and cooking techniques they offer.

It's been 18 years since Alan Partridge first mooted the notion of Youth Hostelling with Chris Eubank - and as of last week, the project is a dream no longer.
Eubank's team-up with Hostelworld is, of course, a deliberate tip of the hat to Steve Coogan's comic creation - but too often the telly schedules are plagued with examples of #AccidentalPartridge.
Behold, 12 shows that sound like they sprang straight from Alan's fertile mind - this little lot are on a par with Inner City Sumo or Arm Wrestling with Chas 'n' Dave.
1. Flockstars
Celebrity shepherding - Lesley Joseph goes from Birds to sheep and Fazer from N-Dubz lends livestock some street cred.
No-one makes a pun on Amanda Lamb's name, though. Missed opportunity.
2. Gordon Behind Bars
"Cooking in prison" was a format that Alan Partridge actually pitched to Tony Hayers, but it took foul-mouthed foodie Gordon Ramsay to make it a reality.

Someone pick up the phone to Alan Partridge, because Youth Hostelling with Chris Eubank has finally happened in real life.
Well, sort of.
Former boxing champion Chris was left baffled earlier this month as Twitter users quizzed him over a famous scene in I'm Alan Partridge where Steve Coogan's hapless broadcaster pitches some downright baffling ideas for TV shows to BBC controller of programmes Tony Hayers.
However, Alan's dream has now become a reality - and it seems like Chris enjoyed his visit to the Yha in Brighton, testing out the bunk beds and the WiFi as well as entertaining the guests.
"My inaugural visit to a youth hostel was enlightening and delightful!" he wrote on Twitter. "Expect the unexpected!"
David Schneider, who played Tony in 'A Room with an Alan', was absolutely delighted by the surprising turn of events.

Boxer Frank 'Wise Guy' Buglioni tallies the points and renders his verdict on the De Niro-Stallone comedy about two fighting rivals
Like most young boxers, I loved Rocky and Raging Bull. In fact, I've been a fan of Sylvester Stallone and Robert de Niro since I was a kid. So I enjoyed this film, in which they play two retired boxers who come back to fight each other one last time. It's nothing like Rocky and Raging Bull, though. It's a comedy, very tongue-in-cheek: as long as you don't go along expecting a serious film, it's actually pretty funny.
The concept of a "grudge match" between two former rivals is certainly feasible. Chris Eubank and Nigel Benn are a good example. Boxing does get personal, especially if there's a major title at stake. Two older fighters would still tend to be evenly matched, too: what you don't see is an...

Grudge Match, a film Chris Eubank might describe as “a parade of pugilistic perfection” (were he in an alliterative mood), matches up two big-screen boxers in a marketing man’s dream bout. In the right corner is Rocky ‘the Italian Stallion’ Balboa; in the left, Jake ‘The Raging Bull’ Lamotta. There can only be one winner. This new featurette shows Stallone proving that he can still float like a butterfly and sting like a bee, seven years after his last action in the ring with Rocky Balboa. brightcove.createExperiences(); The movie follows two old school boxers, both of whose careers peaked in the 1980s, reunited for one final, epic showdown. The fight is the brainchild – well, walletchild – of boxing promoter Dante (Kevin Hart), who spots an opportunity to reunite bitter old rivals Billy ‘The Kid’ McDonnen (De Niro) and Henry ‘Razor’ Sharp (Stallone), who traded blows and championship belts before...

To mark the release of Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa, Rob takes us through the high points of Alan Partridge's TV career...
Certain TV shows are watched so excessively that quoting them in general conversation has just became part of the norm. The Office, The Simpsons and Spaced are three such, but none have been stolen from with quite as much regularity as Norfolk’s favourite son, Alan Partridge. For better or for worse, Partridgisms have cemented their place in our everyday vernacular. The likes of, “cos I’m a bloody bloke”, “see the match?” and “scum, sub-human scum” are just a few of the phrases that AP (with a little help from his writers) has gifted to the world over the years.
He may be a socially awkward, insensitive, selfish, narcissist obsessed with his own celebrity status, but despite all this, it’s hard to not love Alan.

As expected, The King's Speech was one of the top performers at the Oscars, taking home four of the globally recognised awards; including an overall Best Picture award and an individual Best Actor for its lead, Colin Firth. Furthermore, had this year's field not been so strong - with the likes of Inception, The Social Network and Black Swan all among the nominees - The King's Speech could have gone on to undocumented success, especially when you consider that it was a strong favourite in each of the 12 categories it was nominated for.
Conversely, while The King's Speech proved once again that a film needs neither a bottomless budget or overzealous 3D to be successful, it was its powerful message that has proved pinnacle to its success. Stutterers across the world now have a voice, a soapbox from which they can begin to spread their message and appeal; but most importantly,...
