Richard Madeley made an amusing slip-up during an appearance on the celebrity version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?
The frequent Good Morning Britain host appeared on the long-running ITV quiz series on Sunday 16 October.
In an early round of the game, series host Jeremy Clarkson had asked Madeley: “Which of these abbreviations is used when someone wants something done immediately?”
Madeley was given four multiple choice options, the correct answer of which was “Asap”.
“I shall answer ‘As Soon As Possible’, Chris, it’s ‘A’,” Madeley said. “Final answer.”
In addressing Clarkson as “Chris”, the presenter had momentarily confused him with Who Wants to Be A Millionaire’s previous host Chris Tarrant.
“I’m not Chris,” Clarkson responded.
“Does that happen [often]?” Madeley then asked, seeing the funny side of his slip-up.
“You look young but you’re senile,” Clarkson said.
Later in the episode, Madeley revealed that his wife,...

“He’s since been taken to hospital as a precaution, the health and safety of our campmates is our priority,” they added.
The show, which transferred location from the Australian Outback to a castle in Wales due to pandemic travel restrictions, sees celebrities tasked with living in basic conditions and completing various tasks to earn food and comforts.
On Wednesday, prior to falling ill, Madeley was made to slide headfirst into a sewer of rotten fruit and vegetables during a trial, and to find hidden stars in a kitchen full of bugs.

Judy Finnigan has admitted that she is "terrified" for her daughter Chloe Madeley on The Jump.
She told her fellow Loose Women panelists that her daughter is a "total novice" when it comes to winter sports, and has never even "been on a pair of skis before".
She said: "She's had just four weeks to train up. I'm terrified."
Finnigan and her husband Richard Madeley will travel to Innsbruck, Austria over the weekend to support their daughter as the competition begins.
"We're going out to Austria on Sunday just to give her some moral support," she explained. "As long as she gets back in one piece, that's all I want."
When asked who Madeley's biggest competition will be, Finnigan predicted that Heather Mills and Mike Tindall could be the ones to watch.

Judy Finnigan has apologised over comments she made about convicted rapist Ched Evans on Loose Women yesterday (October 13).
The TV presenter received a backlash on Twitter from some viewers after she claimed that the former Sheffield United footballer's crime was "not violent".

Evans has completed half of a five-year sentence after he was convicted of raping a 19-year-old woman in 2011.
The Loose Women panel discussed the case on the ITV show, after reports claimed that he may return to his former club.
"If he does go back, he will have to brave an awful lot of comments," Finnigan said on her debut appearance on the daytime show.

Happy 25th birthday to This Morning, which celebrates its silver anniversary today (October 3).
The famous ITV daytime show's current hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby were joined by original hosts Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan for a special episode at This Morning's first home in Liverpool's Albert Docks.
To commemorate this momentous occasion, here's Digital Spy's pick of This Morning's most memorable moments.
1. Booyakasha!
Who could forget Richard Madeley's misjudged and horrendously toe-curling Ali G impersonation? He appeared on our screens completely in character, right down to the drawn-on goatee, while an awkward Judy Finnegan visibly cringed and attempted to plough on with the show.
2. Two Vaginas Lady
Well done Holly Willoughby, who was able to keep a straight face while explaining that poor Hazel Jones has a medical condition which means she has two vaginas. The discussion spanned double periods, the difficulty of inserting tampons and some very graphic camera shots.

"If This Morning f**ks up, as any show that runs from day to day is going to from time to time, whatever the mistake or alleged mistake is, if you ring us up and say, 'What...

Jeanette Winterson and Helen Dunmore among famous names venturing into the horror genre this year
As an icy wind blows in from the east, the grip of a good horror story is tightening its hold on many of Britain's leading literary talents. Terrifying new novels from outspoken author Jeanette Winterson and from the acclaimed novelist and children's writer Helen Dunmore are at the head of a blast of chilling fiction heading for British bookshops.
Where once an accomplished "lady novelist" in search of a change might have attempted a neat whodunnit or perhaps a cosy "Aga saga", suddenly the unholy desire to create a horror or ghost story has seized a range of established talents. Even the television book club presenter Judy Finnigan has been drawn to the genre for her debut novel, a ghost story that will be out this autumn.

Chloe Madeley has said that her split from Dancing on Ice co-star Sam Attwater is "very sad". The couple began dating after meeting on the ITV1 skating competition earlier this year. Madeley, daughter of TV duo Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan, has spoken about the end of their relationship for the first time. "It's very sad but it's amicable," the 23-year-old told The Mirror. "We realised we were better off as friends and I'm glad we made that realisation early. "I don't think Sam and I moved in together too quickly. If you feel it, you go with it, and that's what we did. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't but I have no regrets." Madeley dumped her long-term boyfriend Glenn Crickmar to date the ex-EastEnders actor. However, friends claim (more)...

Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan have claimed that their daughter Chloe "lost her wild child tag" by appearing on Dancing on Ice. The 23-year-old won a legion of new fans with her skating ability on the ITV1 series earlier this year. It was later revealed that Chloe, who eventually finished third, was also dating show winner Sam Attwater. "Going on Dancing on Ice was the best thing Chloe could ever have done," Richard told The Mirror. "Not only has she become an amazing skater, she has lost her wild child tag. "She's a lovable and bright girl, but she got into the headlines for drink-driving and smoking a bong. We took both of these very seriously. Chloe (more)...

Richard Madeley has said that sex is the secret of the success of his and Judy Finnigan's marriage. The TV couple, who hosted ITV's This Morning together, married in 1986. "Sex is the bedrock of our relationship," Madeley told The Mirror. "It's better to be completely unembarrassed about sex. "There may be periods when we are not well or we feel stressed out, but we never let that lead to nervousness or any fumbling in the bedroom. He continued: "You have to be relaxed about sex and I can't say enough how important it is in a marriage. Some people say a physical relationship isn't important. But I don't agree. I think not having sex is a rock on which many marriages founder." Finnigan agreed, adding: "Yes, you have to feel passionately about a person and fortunately (more)...

Richard Madeley has criticised the use of injunctions by celebrities, saying that it is "damaging" for freedom of speech. Speaking alongside wife Judy Finnigan to The Mirror, the former host of This Morning said that public figures have to be held accountable for what they do. "If I had an affair, people should have the right to know," he told the paper. "It is wrong to use an injunction because it's potentially damaging for freedom of speech. "We have a right to know the name of the Premiership footballer and the actor who have behaved badly. It may be inconvenient for them for it to be reported, but because they can afford an injunction it doesn't mean they deserve special protection." Madeley also recalled an incident where he was accused of stealing (more)...

Phillip Schofield has claimed that former This Morning host Judy Finnigan spent a “fortune” trying to get daughter Chloe to win ‘Dancing On Ice’.
Chloe eventually finished in third place behind Sam Attwater and Laura Hamilton, but not because her parents weren’t supportive enough.
Phillip – who now hosts the ITV daytime show – admitted: “Richard and Judy came down to the green room on a Sunday a lot. They were such massive supporters and I’ve been down to chat with them. Take last Sunday; Judy was sitting on the sofa and literally voting for Chloe non-stop. They’ve spent a fortune on voting for her.”
Phillip – who co-hosts the show with Holly Willoughby – also revealed how he loved all the rows on this year’s series as it made great television, though he admitted he believes some viewers took the fighting too seriously.
He told new! magazine: “I loved the rows!
