- Rudolf Gantenbrink was born in 1950 in Menden, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. He is known for Schauplätze der Weltkulturen: Ägypten und das Niltal (1996), Into the Great Pyramid (2002) and Mysterious Universe (1994).
- German engineer from Bavaria, he became famous in 1993 for his development of a robot known as UPUAUT 2 which was able to explore the shafts and to install a ventilation system in the Pyramid of Cheops. This was designed to reduce humidity within the pyramid. The robot allowed the most accurate internal survey of the shafts up to that time.
