CBS is giving NCIS: Los Angeles the farewell it deserves by making it an event. The network has announced that the series finale will air in two parts, on Sunday, May 14 at 10/9c, and Sunday, May 21 at 9/8c. After the last episode, an Entertainment Tonight special, A Salute to NCIS: Los Angeles, will air at 10/9c. “Wrapping up a series is always bittersweet. We were blessed to have 14 seasons together, so bringing it to a satisfying end was extremely challenging after so many years. Fortunately, CBS was gracious enough to give us an extra episode in order to send off our characters in a way befitting their stories that hopefully the fans find both satisfying and hopeful,” said showrunner and executive producer R. Scott Gemmill in a statement. In the first part of the finale, “New Beginnings,” on May 14, CBS teases, “When an Atf agent goes missing, the agency seeks...

The good news and the bad news is that NCIS: Los Angeles executive producer R. Scott Gemmill wasn’t always sure the last few seasons whether or not the show would be returning for another year. So, he crafted season finales that he could live with also being series finales if it turned out the show wasn’t getting another season. “The last thing I ever want is to find out over the break that the show is not coming back,” Gemmill told TV Insider on the historic Paramount lot at a wrap part for the show. “We wouldn’t know sometimes till the upfronts [in May].” This time, however, Gemmill got official word from CBS that this season would be the last one for Sam (LL Cool J), Callen (Chris O’Donnell), and the Osp team. He went ahead and did what he’d done the last few years by leaving...

Fans of NCIS: Los Angeles will have to wait a little longer for the series finale of the hit CBS series, but there's some good news.
According to Parade, the series-ender has been shifted to Sunday, May 21, 2023.
The good news is that it has been expanded to a two-hour event, which is far more exciting for a show ending after 14 seasons.
Saying goodbye will be difficult, but a proper ending has been crafted thanks to the show getting a heads up about NCIS: Los Angeles Season 14 being the last season.
Showrunner R. Scott Gemmill opened up about the difficult task of ending the arcs for the characters.
He acknowledged a satisfying ending is tough "because there's so much expectation, and how do you live up to that?"
Gemmill said that the best foot forward was to focus on the characters one-by-one and examine how to put them in a happy place in their lives.

NCIS: Los Angeles fans will have to wait an extra week for the series finale — the two-parter will now conclude on Sunday, May 21 — but if it’s any consolation, it seems poised to leave you in a happy place.

Scott Gemmill acknowledged that because the high-octane CBS procedural has run for 14 seasons, “the more difficult it is” to craft a satisfying ending, “because there’s so much expectation, and how do you live up to that?”

NCIS: Los Angeles may be ending in a few months, but we'll be taking a trip down memory lane before that happens.
NCIS: Los Angeles Season 14 Episode 13, airing Sunday, February 26, will feature a blast from Kilbride's (Gerald McRaney) past.
We already covered the fact that Marilu Henner will guest-star during the episode as Kilbride's ex-wife, who visits her one-time husband with one goal:
Reconnect with his estranged son, Alex.
Later this season, Alex will appear in the flesh because TV Insider broke the news that Christopher Gorham has been cast as Alex.
Beyond the fact Kilbride will be reuniting with his son during the episode, we don't know what will go down.
CBS confirmed last month that the current season would be the end of the procedural drama series.

“NCIS: Los Angeles” is coming to a close. CBS announced on Friday that the currently airing 14th season of the drama would be its last, with the series finale set to air on May 14.
The series premiered in 2009 as the second installation of the “NCIS” franchise, preceded by the still-running “NCIS” and followed by “NCIS: New Orleans,” which ran from 2014 to 2021, and “NCIS: Hawaiʻi,” which premiered in 2021 and is currently airing its second season. “NCIS: Sydney” is set to premiere this year.
Set in the high-stakes world of a division of NCIS that is charged with apprehending dangerous and elusive criminals who pose a threat to the nation’s security, “NCIS: Los Angeles” follows Sam Hanna (LL Cool J), Grisha Callen and their team as they go undercover to take down their targets and protect national interests. One of CBS’ longest-running scripted shows, NCIS: Los Angeles, will be coming to an end after 322 episodes. Its current 14th season will be the show’s last, with the series finale set for May 14, airing on the network and streaming live and on demand on Paramount+.
The NCIS spinoff, starring LL Cool J and Chris O’Donnell, is tied as the fifth longest-running CBS primetime scripted series ever, only behind Gunsmoke, Lassie, CSI and Criminal Minds. Among the four, the two shows that have aired in the last 50 years, CSI and Criminal Minds, both have since been revived, which bodes well for NCIS: Los Angeles‘ future.
Additionally, NCIS: Los Angeles is a rare long-running procedural drama to have had its original leads, LL Cool J and O’Donnell, stay on for the entire run. Both have spoken publicly about their commitment to the series, which hit the 300 episode milestone last May, and their fellow cast members.

In Sunday’s NCIS: Los Angeles opening sequence, a thrilling Top Gun-style F-35 Navy training exercise turns into a nail-biter as a plane gets in trouble and the pilot ejects. Turns out it’s Special Agent Sam Hanna’s (LL Cool J) son! Aiden (Tye White) survives, much to the relief of his dad and grandfather, Raymond (Richard Gant). But “he gets his bell rung pretty hard,” says the drama’s executive producer R. Scott Gemmill. And the crash could be a career-ender: All signs point to pilot error. “Aiden has a reputation as a hot dog,” Gemmill adds. “He’s been reprimanded for his flight behavior.” With the NCIS team put in the awkward position of investigating the incident, Sam is barred from participating. Meanwhile, the trio of tough military Hannas grapple with what happened. “It’s a lot of stubbornness in one room,” Gemmill says. “There...

“NCIS: LA” viewers were alarmed this week when the Season 14 premiere of the CBS procedural did not include Linda Hunt’s Hetty, the character whose last known location was Syria. In the episode, the team received word that a body had been a body found in Syria. By the end, they learn that it was a child’s body but they had Hetty’s IDs attached to them — likely because she wanted to stage her own death.
While it hasn’t been determined what exactly she’s up to, there are plans for her to return to the show this season, confirms executive producer R. Scott Gemmill, especially with Callen (Chris O’Donnell) and Anna’s (Bar Paly) nuptials.

Heading into NCIS: Los Angeles Season 14, the team and fans are in the same boat when it comes to one loose end: Where is Hetty (Linda Hunt)?! Meanwhile, Kensi (Daniela Ruah) and Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) will be adjusting to being parents of a teenager, Rosa (Natalia Del Riego). Ruah tells us how that’s going to go and more. NCIS: Los Angeles spoilers about the season premiere reveal all of the plot points that the team will be dealing with.
When we last saw the NCIS: LA cast, they were enjoying some time on the beach after a difficult mission.
One of the big takeaways from the finale for last season was that G. Callen proposed to Anna Kolcheck, and now the couple is slated to get married soon.

Save Hetty! In the military drama’s Season 14 opener, intel has at last confirmed the location of the former boss lady (Linda Hunt): Syria. “It starts off very bad for her, but eventually [the info provides] a little bit of hope,” NCIS: Los Angeles executive producer R. Scott Gemmill says. The news fires up Special Agent G. Callen (Chris O’Donnell) to go rescue his imperiled surrogate mother, despite their unresolved issues about his childhood spy training. Admiral Kilbride (Gerald McRaney) nixes the plan, though: He needs all hands on deck after terrorists set off an explosion at a facility that manufactures Navy drones. That’s just the first big boom. Might wedding bells for Callen and Anna herald the (latest) long-awaited return of NCIS: Los Angeles‘ Hetty?
