He was awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Television at 6901 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, California on December 9, 1986.
In 2012, he and his wife were honored by Cedars-Sinai Medical Center with the inaugural Hollywood Icon Award in recognition of their achievements in film, television and charitable endeavors.
Received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (1955).
Attended and graduated from New Utrecht High School in Brooklyn, New York City.
Inducted into the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame (2010).
He endowed several programs at the University of Pennsylvania.
