With “Parks and Recreation” only a few days away from ending, we’ve been running a lot of stories about the show’s history, including Jim O’Heir recalling the strange life of Garry Gergich, and Mike Schur explaining the show’s weird recurring characters and running gags . One of those weirdoes was Jean-Ralphio Saperstein, Tom Haverford’s best friend and a monstrous human being. Earlier this week, I emailed actor Ben Schwartz a few questions about how he got the part, the origin of Jean-Ralphio’s hair, love of singing, and more. The “Parks” series finale airs Tuesday night at 10 on NBC. Before then, I have one more big interview to publish, plus a look back at what made this one of TV’s best comedies. Mike said that Jean-Ralphio was born out of you spending an hour in his office and making him realize you were funny enough...

Last week, NCIS season 12 kicked off with a bang by putting McGee and Gibbs in Russia on a dangerous mission while the rest of the team frantically tried to pinpoint their location to save them. It also introduced us to Sergei Mishnev, who is an international mercenary out to avenge the death of his friend, Ari Haswari, who was Ziva's brother. Although Gibbs shot Sergei in Russia, this season's new villain managed to survive. It is annoying how that always seems to happen.
In this week's episode, "Kill the Messenger," the NCIS team investigates the murder of a Navy lieutenant on his way to a meeting with the President. No pressure on this case, folks! This episode also features former NFL player Tony Gonzalez, who guest stars as NCIS Special Agent Tony Francis.

Looks like Matt Damon, Larry David and Kevin Costner made up a winning team for the 2013 Rich Eisen Kickoff Special on NFL Network this week. With the three actors talking film, football and the upcoming NFL season, the September 3rd 30-minute special was up significantly in both demos and viewership from its one-hour show on September 6, 2012. The 10:30 Pm Kickoff Special from the NFL GameDay Morning host saw a 128% rise among adults 18-49 and a 42% rise among adults 25-54 with 132,000 and 111,000 viewers in the key demos respectively. Last year’s special had Erin Andrews, Olympian Ryan Lochte, Hank Azaria, Seattle Seahawk Russell Wilson and Atlanta Falcon Tony Gonzalez as guests. Overall viewership was also up double digits with a 29% rise to 229,000 this year from 2012’s 177,000.That result makes this week’s Rich Eisen Kickoff Special the sixth most watched special on NFL Network this year after their Schedule Release, Free Agents and Super Bowl specials.

We are heading into the second half of this year’s NFL season, and certain teams are beginning to separate themselves from the rest of the bunch. Last week, Lester thought the best three teams were:
1. Atlanta Falcons
2. Houston Texans
3. Chicago Bears
It’s easy to see how he came to that conclusion, but let’s see which teams have risen to the top this time round.
1. Atlanta Falcons
Their run game hasn’t been great, with Michael Turner rushing for just 415 yards, but with Ryan playing as well as he is, along with receivers such as Julio Jones, Roddy White and Tony Gonzalez, they haven’t had to rely on yards gained on the ground.
They have a pretty tough game against a solid Dallas defense this coming Sunday, but I fully expect them to still be undefeated when that game is over. Definitely the team to beat right now.

We were curious if any of the players knew him, which Davis says they did not. But he did have a special connection with one of them.

Grab someone who cares about football because this week is NFL week on The Biggest Loser! Alison meets the contestants on a football field, where they see lifesize cardboard cutouts of themselves with holes cut in the center of their stomachs. It's a little morbid, actually. I was disappointed to hear that they'd be throwing footballs, not pies, into the center of the targets to take each other out of the competition. But wait, there's more!
Clay Mathews comes out of the Biggest Loser breakaway banner, followed by Tony Gonzalez, and Drew Brees. The contestants will be playing against these pros, who will be shooting from the 5, 10, and 15 yard lines respectively. The player with the highest percentage of weight loss this week is going to the Superbowl! Antone is glad he'll at least have one opportunity to go, which reminds me that former professional football player Antone could probably win this football thing.

After creating a football field in the middle of the farm, real NFL players including Tony Gonzalez, Ray Lewis, Shawne Merriman, DeSean Jackson and Dwight Dweeney show up for the big game.

Taylor Lautner takes position front and center in Funny or Die's new video which spoofs NFL Lockout. Created as trailer to a fake movie called "Field of Dreams 2: NFL Lockout", the video features a number of NFL players as well as actors.
Taylor is a married man living in a corn field in Iowa. Dwight Freeney, DeSean Jackson, Ray Lewis and Tony Gonzalez are a few of the football players making cameos. These guys repeatedly knock out Taylor a number of times with no reason and messed up with his house, and his wife.
Ray Liotta appeared as Roger Goodell while Kevin Costner popped out at the very end of the video as Lautner's father. These two are stars of the original movie which is about baseball. Meanwhile, James Earl Jones was replaced by Dennis Haysbert.

Field of Dreams 2: NFL Lockout with Taylor Lautner from Taylor Lautner
The NFL lockout is now almost four months old, and while the owners and players are talking, a settlement that would allow the season to start on time isn't imminent.
But fear not: Taylor Lautner and Funny or Die have a solution. Behold "Field of Dreams 2: NFL Lockout," in which Lautner takes on the Kevin Costner role and plows a football field into his corn acreage. Lo and behold, a bunch of idled NFL players -- including Tony Gonzalez, Ray Lewis, Steve Smith, Dwight Freeney and DeSean Jackson -- show up, and it's game on.
Of course, since they have nothing else to do, the players also end up hanging around Lautner's house, ordering pay-per-view and letting the dog out. These things happen.
You'll also see Dennis Haysbert ("24") taking on the James Earl Jones role -- and...

In the classic sports film "Field of Dreams," Kevin Costner builds a baseball field in his back yard after hearing a voice that tells him, "if you build it, they will come." But in the in the brand new Funny or Die viral video "Field of Dreams 2," when the field gets built it isn't Shoeless Joe Jackson who arrives on the scene -- it's Taylor Lautner.
We can already hear the Twi-Hards revving up their tractors.
After much anticipation, the comedy moment of the summer has arrived with Lautner's newest gig: sports arbitrator. That's because in "Field of Dreams 2," Lautner manages to do what dozens of lawyers, agents and businessmen have yet to accomplish -- end the NFL lockout and get football going again.
And he does it with a little help from NFL stars like Ray Lewis and Tony Gonzalez, as well as from surprise guest stars... but that would be telling.

While football fans wait with baited breath to see when and if the NFL lockout will come to an end, Funny Or Die has taken matters into their own hands by creating a fantastical solution to the problem. Enter Taylor Lautner as the star of "Field Of Dreams 2: NFL Lockout."
Whereas the 1989 film was all about reclaiming missed opportunities and coming to grips with the choices that form who we are, this version seems to be all about the futility of following your dreams... but, hey, maybe Kevin Costner will show up.
The video is loaded with stars from the NFL and Hollywood, including Tony Gonzalez, Ray Lewis, Ray Liotta, Dennis Haysbert and the aforementioned Costner himself in a brief cameo. It's just the thing to get you through the remaining dog days of the lockout.

Two of my favorite things in life are football and soaps. The Atlanta Falcons, also the favorite team of Days star Chandler Massey, have brought fans more heartache than celebration over the years, but this season just might be different. Aside from Super Bowl aspirations, there's another way it's different - one of our star players, Pro Bowl tight end Tony Gonzalez, made a soap appearance this week, on One Tree Hill. Nathan's career as an agent took a big step forward when he visited Gonzalez and the Falcons. This is the way to make me watch that show. Check cwtv.com and hulu.com for the full episode soon.

At this risk of incurring the wrath of readers, I'm gonna to have bad things to say about One Tree Hill once again this week.
Nothing really happened on "Mouthful of Diamonds" and in the moments when meaningful action could have been taking place, it was once again drowned out by the music.
The major problem I had with season seven, and a good chunk of season six, was that the there was way too much song overlay. A great song placement can do wonders in adding drama to a scene. This is something I thought One Tree Hill did really well in the early days.
I always commended its use of music. Somewhere around the middle of season six, I started to notice how much of the show was nothing but music. We would go scene to scene with an over-sappy song playing over an over-dramatized moment. It got to be too much.

November is here, and you probably know what that means for television: Sweeps! It’s that bountiful time of the TV season when the networks try to ramp up viewership as much as possible so they can set their advertising prices for the year. All of which means means we’ll see crazy guest stars! Specials! Awards shows! Big interviews! For example, Cher is going on 20/20 to talk Burlesque Nov. 19; ABC is airing the Country Music Awards on Nov. 10; Oprah will sit down with the Jackson clan on Nov. 8; and Gwyneth Paltrow, well, she’s appearing on both the CMAs on Nov.
