What's the most shocking moment in children's cinema? The death of Bambi's mother in Disney's 1942 classic titled, well, "Bambi," has to be up there. It's bloodless, but more impactful because of that; the movie doesn't revel in the death, it's just a matter of life.
The animals in "Bambi" are less humanized than in later Disney pictures. They're drawn and live as real beasts; even what little dialogue there is in "Bambi" feels like a creative compromise. The incomprehensible force named Man snatching away Bambi's mother is the reality for deer dogged by hunters. Notice too how Bambi's mother dies in the winter; it's not just to make the scene extra moody, but because winter is the season of death. The film then jumps ahead to spring and when it reintroduces Bambi, he's grown into a young stag; his childhood ended that snowy day. It's all the unforgiving circle of life.

This Power Rangers: Once and Always review contains spoilers.
Power Rangers: Once and Always, with a brisk hour-long runtime, does the impossible for a nostalgia focused special. It isn’t concerned with playing solely to cheap memories and easy jokes for casual fans, and isn’t obsessed with deep fan lore, either. Its primary focus is instead on just being the next entry in these characters’ lives. It’s doing something new and not just playing the hits.
The special most closely follows Blue Ranger Billy (David Yost) and Black Ranger Zack (Walter Emanuel Jones). We check in on their lives and see them in new situations. After the death of Yellow Ranger Trini, Zack takes on guardianship of her daughter, Minh (Charlie Kersh). It’s a wonderful new side of Zack that still highlights the character’s familiar warmth and charm. His interactions with Minh are the best part of the special,...

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Always is a Powers Rangers special set in 2023.
It may seem that this is written by ChatGPT, but the fact is more than curious because, despite being filmed in 2023, it has been made following the television schemes of the 90s? for the delight of their fans…

Let's get something out of the way first. "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always" is not where you want to start as a newcomer to the "Power Rangers" franchise. It is also not a wildly different reimagining of the '90s juggernaut — so don't expect a gritty reboot like the Joseph Kahn and Adi Shankar short film. Instead, what this offers is a nostalgia-filled special that is not particularly different from the many, many, many other anniversary crossover specials the franchise has done over the years.
What does make "Once & Always" different and notable is that it is entirely focused on the original "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" iteration rather than trying to tie in the past with the future. And even if this is still as cheesy as the original '90s show, it does have some edge to it that makes it stand out — plus a loving tribute to fallen Rangers.

When the anniversary project was announced, many of Johnson's former co-stars were confirmed to be on board.

The original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers return for the 30th anniversary of the American series on Netflix. While favorites like David Yost (Blue Ranger) and Walter Emmanuel Jones (Black Ranger) will return, so will the evilest villain. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Always will bring back the vile Rita Repulsa (Barbara Goodson), but her return is questionable based on how the character exited the franchise.

The “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” are reuniting with revenge over Rita Repulsa on their minds in Netflix’s 30th anniversary special.
“Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always,” which launches April 19 on Netflix, follows the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ quest for vengeance 30 years after Zordon formed the team. While in the midst of a global crisis, a previous threat resurfaces as Rita Repulsa sets her sights on the group.
“After all these years, I found a new body” Rita Repulsa says in the trailer as the Blue Ranger Billy Cranston (David Yost) is in disbelief, saying, “No, it can’t be.” “It’s time for revenge,” Rita Repulsa declares before delivering a devastating blow that leaves the rangers reeling.
The special’s trailer also reveals Rita Repulsa is responsible for the death of Trini, the original Yellow Power Ranger, as Trini’s daughter, Minh (Charlie Kersh), states “she killed mom — we gotta destroy her.

A brand new scripted audio series that just launched this year, NPRmageddon is “what National Public Radio will sound like after the apocalypse,” the team explains.
NPRmageddon is a ten-part post-apocalyptic sci-fi arthouse radio show audio drama adjective-rich podcast in the style of public radio, broadcast from the United States of “Lost” Angeles.
Creators Bryan Keithley and Peter Podgursky tell Save the Cat, “We based our storytelling on how modern media operates and what National Public Radio sounds like now.
“Our approach with NPRmageddon was to give our listeners the good stuff—to lean on one-off stories heavy on science fiction and horror tropes, but to push those tropes through the lens of public media journalism. Step through a typical episode of NPRmageddon, and you’ll find a delicious selection of news-y mayhem worthy of any headline-grabbing lineup from the real world—from marauding mutants to rogue AI’s to parasitic pulsating brains.

"Power Rangers" is one of the biggest franchises to come out of the '90s. Based on the Japanese franchise "Super Sentai," the "Power Rangers" series follows a group of teenagers chosen to fight evil with the help of super suits and giant robots that morph together to make an even bigger robot.

Based on Hideyuki Kikuchi’s novel series of the same, “Vampire Hunter D” was released straight to video in 1985. Directed by Toyoo Ashida, who would later take the reins on “Fist of the North Star”, the film was produced on a limited budget by the studio Ashi Productions. Now considered an anime classic, the feature still has plenty to offer in terms of careful world-building and enticing visuals. It’s worth noting that this review is for the 1992 Streamline Pictures English dub.

"We will build the ultimate weapon! Their stuff will be our stuff!" How did we miss this?! Netflix is showing a new 40-minute animated holiday special film titled Alien Xmas, the latest creation of the Chiodo Bros. This stop-motion animated adventure looks like Rankin/Bass' classic "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" TV special – but with aliens, instead of reindeer. Meet X, a little alien who learns that in a world full of stuff, things aren’t meant to be taken, but given. When extraterrestrials attempt to steal Earth's gravity, only the gift-giving spirit of Christmas -- and a small Alien named X -- can save the world. It is already available to watch now; somehow we missed all these trailers when they debuted weeks ago. But better late than never! The film features the voices of Keythe Farley, Dee Bradley Baker, Kaliayh Rhambo, Michelle Deco, Barbara Goodson, and Jessica Gee-George. It...

This Power Rangers Beast Morphers review contains spoilers.
For an episode filled with clips from the past the most Power Rangers thing to happen is actually the B plot with the Rangers tracking down a diamond thief. Mostly because there are five diamond stores in Coral Harbor and they have names that all go in alphabetical order for A to E.
Albert’s Gems.
Bright Stones.
Coral Harbor Jewelers.
Diamonds of Distinction.
Elite Diamonds.
That is so cheesy and perfectly Power Rangers. Of course the city would have diamond stores in alphabetical order! Obviously! I love that it’s a huge part of this B plot and Jazz Baduwalia is just having the time of his life playing detective as Ravi. He’s chewing the scenery with his sleuthing and I wish we got to see this more playful side to the character. The rest of the cast is also having a blast,...

"And that is why you don't mix diesel with petrol!" Blue Fox Entertainment has released the official Us trailer for an animated children's movie titled Wheely, produced by Kru Studios and Kartun Studios. This Malaysian animated movie is one of the most blatant Cars ripoffs we've ever seen, and it looks horrible in every possible way. It's no surprise that thanks to Cars being beloved by kids worldwide, it is often ripped off and remade internationally, but what is surprising is that anyone even cares to watch this. In the film, Wheely, a cabbie from the lower ranks of society, faces a great uphill battle to save his dream girl from a monstrous 18-wheeler truck who is the mastermind of a luxury car-napping syndicate. The film features the voices of Ogie Banks, Frances Lee, Gavin Yap, Brock Powell, Thomas Pang, Barbara Goodson, Tamyka White, Jay Sheldon, and Armando Valdez. This looks so,...

Away from Hollywood’s stifling commercial limits, Fumiyo Kouno’s manga about a young bride in wartime Japan has no illusions regarding the human price of war. Young Suzu takes in a new family, endures the hardships of a militarized country and wartime privations, but nobody is ready for what’s coming. Sunao Katabuchi’s historical drama makes stunning use of animation.

All you Power Ranger fans out there you better get ready because you can’t have a team of heroes without a villain, and the upcoming movie reboot has finally cast theirs. Elizabeth Banks will be stepping into the role of the Rangers' nemesis Rita Repulsa.
Rita is integral for several elements of the Power Rangers story if they want to go with the original concepts (as many long time fans of the franchise will know). Without her we can’t get a Green Ranger, *hint hint*. For those of you unfamiliar Rita was the head honcho and primary nemesis for the Rangers who also was the one super sizing them with greater power thus ensure that we would get some giant robot on giant monster action.
Now while Elizabeth Banks is stepping into a role played by several actresses I would like to add the voice of Rita was...

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Episode 13 – Monster
Written by Katie Lucas | Directed by Kyle Dunlevy
“When Count Dooku calls upon the Nightsisters seeking a replacement for Ventress, she and her kin seize the opportunity to exact revenge. Ventress visits the far side of Dathomir and the males of the planet seeking the most brutal and powerful warrior among them. Talzin has Asajj secretly select a warrior from the distant Nightbrother village: Savage Opress. With the power of dark magic, Talzin transforms Savage into a hulking warrior ultimately loyal to Asajj. She then delivers Opress to Dooku, where he will serve as his secret Sith apprentice in a plot to overthrow Darth Sidious.”
A solid episode and after all the previous jumping around in time this season it’d nice to see a continuation to the story begun in episode 12. What impressed me the most was the voice work and manipulation of the voices.
