Written by Joe Lawson
Directed by Eyal Gordin
Airs Wednesdays at 8:30pm Est on ABC
Wednesday night is shaping up to be the worst night of the week for network television. Week after week the comedies continue to disappoint for a number of different reasons. New shows such as Back in the Game and Super Fun Night struggle to find their footing, some incorporating too much whilst others not enough. This week’s episode of Back in the Game, “The Change Up” returns to the awkward narrative structure we first saw in the pilot and once again it doesn’t work. The biggest problem with the show is that it continues to send the completely wrong message. Each week Terry must overcome sexist male obstacles in order to achieve. This week even more generalisation is incorporated into the show when...

Back in the Game, Season 1, Episode 3, “Play Hard or Go Home”
Directed by Eyal Gordin
Written by Gregg Mettler
Airs Wednesdays at 8:30pm Est on ABC
Wednesday’s line-up is continuing to be the strongest this fall as the new shows begin to find their footing. Back in the Game is a lot stronger this week, as “Play Hard or Go Home” starts to follow a more enjoyable format. The episode is much more entertaining than the first two, as it finds a way to include all of the characters. So far the focus is usually just on Terry and while it is entertaining, the show really feels like it’s missing something. The strongest part of this episode is that The Cannon gets a bigger and more meaningful storyline. Back in the Game is quite similar to The Goldbergs in that they both portray a more accurate depiction...

Well, when he's not berating Israeli journalists and accusing them of draft dodging, Peter Berg seems to be a fan of their television programs as the "Friday Night Lights" creative is headed back to the small screen for the curiously titled "M.I.C.E." Standing for Money, Ideology, Coercion and Ego (also known as the Republican platform, Zing!), the show is remake of "The Gordin Cell" and will find Berg writing and directing the pilot, in addition to producing as well. And we'll let Deadline break down the specifics of what it's all about: Gordin Cell revolves around the Gordin family and centers on Israeli-born Eyal Gordin, a decorated Israeli Air Force officer in a high-security post who loves his country and family. His parents Michael and Diana, Grandmother Nina and elder sister Natalia emigrated from the Ussr in 1990. Eyal has no idea that his parents were Russian spies.

NBC has closed a deal for a put pilot commitment to M.I.C.E., a drama from Peter Berg and Sarah Aubrey’s Film 44 based on the Israeli format The Gordin Cell. Berg is set to write and direct the pilot in his first pilot-writing effort since Friday Night Lights. Universal TV, where Film 44 is based, will produce with Israeli company Keshet Media Group, which is behind the original series, along with Israeli satcaster Yes, which airs it, and Tedy Prods, which produces it. The deal comes after a couple of months of negotiations among the parties involved in M.I.C.E., whose title is an acronym for Money, Ideology, Coercion and Ego, used to understand the motives of spies in betraying their countries. Gordin Cell revolves around the Gordin family and centers on Israeli-born Eyal Gordin, a decorated Israeli Air Force officer in a high-security...
