Ryan Gosling is going full method in his promotion of The Fall Guy. During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live to discuss the film, which is out Friday, the actor arrived by beating up everyone backstage and then joined forces with Guillermo Rodriguez to take down the last man standing.
The stunt sequence also featured fellow late-night guest Jeff Ross, who made fun of Gosling’s peach suit, saying “I didn’t know it was still Easter.” Gosling left Ross unharmed, but did borrow his dressing room lamp to smash over someone’s head.

A line of dialogue in The Fall Guy is already causing some discourse among some viewers, prior to it opening in theaters.
In the David Leitch-directed action-comedy, starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, Hannah Waddingham’s character, Gail Meyer, at one point makes a reference to Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s turbulent relationship.
In the scene, Waddingham, who plays an executive producer in the movie, reportedly walks into a trailer while looking disheveled and tells director Jody Moreno (Blunt), “It’s like Amber and Johnny were just in here.”
Some viewers have since taken to social media to criticize the line, with one user writing on X (formerly Twitter), “‘The Fall Guy’ made a distasteful “joke” about the domestic abuse amber suffered at the hands of johnny. it’s 2024, why are we writing these kinds of lines into movies? nasty work.”
Another social media user wrote that the...

Colt Seaver seems to have it all. He has one of the best jobs in the world as the stuntman for the world’s biggest action star, Tom Ryder. On top of that, he has fallen in love with camera operator Jody Moreno.
Everything seems perfect. But when a stunt on Ryder’s latest film goes wrong, Colt finds himself severely injured. No longer feeling invincible, he withdraws from everything… including his relationship with Jody.
Eighteen months later, Colt finds himself at rock bottom when the phone rings. Producer Gail Meyer wants him to return to stunts for Tom Ryder.
Colt is initially skeptical until Gail tells him that Jody is the director of Tom’s big blockbuster film, and she has requested him to do stunts. Seeing an opportunity to rekindle the flame with Jody, he immediately hops on a flight to Sydney to join the production.

It’s not always easy to find out which movies are hitting theaters each week, especially after the Hollywood strikes led to many release date changes. With the WGA and actors strikes resolved and summer blockbusters starting to roll in, May is filled with both big budget flicks and new indie releases.
Premiering May 3 is David Leitch’s “The Fall Guy,” an action comedy about a disgraced stuntman who must find the missing star of his ex-girlfriend’s blockbuster starring Ryan Gosling, Emily Blunt, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Hannah Waddingham. Also hitting theaters is “Tarot,” a horror movie about a naive group of friends and a tarot reading gone wrong starring Olwen Fouéré, Avantika, Jacob Batalon and Humberly González. Two films getting limited releases this week are A24’s “I Saw the TV Glow,” a horror drama about two teenagers’ bond over a supernatural TV show that is mysteriously canceled, and “Evil Does Not Exist,...

Julio Torres is crediting Ryan Gosling for being a “world-builder” of a comedic actor.
The “Problemista” writer/director/star told Entertainment Weekly that Gosling had more than a few sketch ideas when he returned to host “SNL.” Torres previously worked as a “Saturday Night Live” writer, and also returned with a skit per Gosling’s request to follow-up their viral “Papyrus” sequence parodying the font used in James Cameron’s “Avatar.” And much like the “Avatar” franchise itself, Gosling had a vision for making multiple installments of the “Papyrus” sketch.
“With no Ryan Gosling, there’s no ‘Papyrus 1,’ and there’s no ‘Papyrus 2,’” Torres said. “The first one was this sort of throwaway joke I made that he really latched on to. He was like, ‘Oh, I think maybe there’s an idea there,’ and I was like, ‘I really don’t think so.’ I didn’t tell him that,...

At 6 foot, 5 inches, Winston Duke towers over his fellow castmates and crew members on set. In former-stuntsman-turned-filmmaker David Leitch’s “The Fall Guy,” Duke fills the shoes of Dan Tucker, the stunt coordinator in the film responsible for protecting famous stuntman Colt Seavers’ (Ryan Gosling) life and big-shot first-time feature filmmaker Jody Moreno’s (Emily Blunt) blockbuster set.
“Not a lot of stunt guys are my size, so sometimes, I tend to have to supplement a lot of the stunt scenes myself,” Duke told IndieWire after wrapping up the film’s global press tour. “It has always been that way since ‘Black Panther.’ Stunt coordinators are the ones who also employ a powerful ‘no,’ where they say certain stunts can’t be done. I really appreciate that because that is a big part of longevity for us actors in staying safe.”

Eva Mendes is happy she had kids in her 40s, three years after she met her now-husband Ryan Gosling.
In a conversation with People, the actress recounted the public reaction to her being pregnant at 40 and how she couldn’t have imagined being a mother at any other point in her life.
“When I was 40, it was a big deal for people when I was pregnant, and it wasn’t for me,” Mendes said. “And then I was 42 and I was pregnant with my second one and people were like, ‘Oh my God, you’re going to be so tired. That’s why people have kids in their 20s.’ I was like, that’s the most sorry, asinine thing I’ve ever heard.”
Mendes and Gosling met on the set of The Place Beyond the Pines in 2011 and have two daughters: Esmeralda Amada, 9, and Amanda Lee, 8.

The Fall Guy Box Office (North America): Projections Ahead Of Its Release( Photo Credit – YouTube )
After ruling the theatres in 2023 with their individual movies, Barbie and Oppenheimer, Ryan Gosling, and Emily Blunt have teamed up for an action comedy this summer. The Fall Guy by director David Leitch is all set to hit the theatres this Friday, and all eyes are on its box office numbers. Keep scrolling for more deets.
Recently, the film’s producer, Kelly McCormick, opened up about Ryan and Emily’s chemistry in the movie and their characters’ relationship. According to her, it is messy and uncomfortable. The film has already received an impressive 87% score on the Tomatometer on the Rotten Tomatoes website. It is based on the 1980s TV series of the same name about stunt performers. For the unversed, its director was a stunt performer before becoming a filmmaker. He was a stunt double for Brad Pitt.

David Leitch’s action-comedy The Fall Guy isn’t the normal kind of stunt Hollywood usually relies on to herald the start of the summer box office, but these aren’t normal times.
Outside of the pandemic era, that job belonged to superhero tentpoles, and specifically Marvel Studios fare (including all four Avengers movies). And Marvel returned to do the honors last year when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 debuted to $118.4 million over the May 5-7 weekend. But Hollywood was thrown off kilter again by last year’s labor strikes, with the release calendar put in disarray. Then there’s the not so-little-issue of superhero fatigue, which has forced both Marvel Studios and DC Entertainment to regroup, although Marvel’s Deadpool & Wolverine should a long way to aiding Marvel.

Ryan Gosling may be everyone’s favorite Ken right now, but even back in the day there were some people who didn’t see the actor’s potential male lead — and it has to do with the movie that brought Gosling to the place where he currently is.
In 2004 Ryan Gosling rose to exorbitant prominence after starring in the romantic drama The Notebook alongside Rachel McAdams. Based on Nicholas Sparks’ book of the same name, the film follows the elderly couple of Noah and Alison Calhoun who spend the rest of their days in a modern-day nursing home.
The main dramatical twist of the whole story is that Alison suffers from dementia and doesn’t even recognise her husband and visiting children, thus Noah chooses to read her a romantic novel that recounts their love story.

There is a lot of hype surrounding this month’s The Fall Guy, and considering it’s a tribute to the world of cinematic stunt work, it’s no surprise that Tuesday’s Los Angeles premiere pulled through, with stuntmen jumping through glass and leaping off balconies to dazzle the crowd before the movie even started. But Ryan Gosling had his own moment, reprising his runaway rendition of Beavis (to Mikey Day’s Butt-Head), bringing the metalhead slackers to one place you’d never expect to see them.
Appearing at The Fall Guy’s premiere, Gosling and Day stepped out as the characters, dressed from enormous head to toe just as they were on Saturday Night Live last month – although it is still a little bothersome that their Beavis and Butt-Head are in shirts that say “Death Rock” and “Skull”, since Beavis would always rock a Metallica shirt and...

Hype can kill a great moviegoing experience. And frankly, there was a lot of hype even before I stepped into David Leitch’s take on the classic series, The Fall Guy. Thankfully, this time, it’s beyond well warranted. Starring the ridiculously charismatic Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, this love letter to the amazing world of stuntwork shines. The action is predictably glorious – it’s David Leitch, the man excels at this – and the performances are perfection. It’s that rare cinematic treat that manages to do nearly everything well, and it works. Whether or not you are familiar with the cool as hell Lee Majors series (1981-86), you will fall for Leitch’s amazing work.
A couple of weeks back, I had the incredible chance to step onto the sound stages of Universal Studios. I was there to speak with the cast and director about their latest. First up was Mr.

Normally, the summer movie season would kick off with a Marvel superhero movie, but this May, we’re doing things a little differently. Read on for Gold Derby’s box office preview.
This year and for the first time since the pandemic, Marvel isn’t launching the month of May. Instead, Universal jumped on the date for its new action comedy “The Fall Guy,” loosely based on the popular ’80s series starring Lee Majors. Two of the Oscar-nominated stars from last year’s blockbuster “Barbenheimer” phenom unite for this new action rom-com from filmmaker David Leitch (“Bullet Train”). Those stars, of course, are Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, who were nominated for Greta Gerwig‘s “Barbie” and Christopher Nolan‘s Best Picture-winning “Oppenheimer,” respectively, two of the biggest movies of 2023. “The Fall Guy” premiered at the SXSW Film and TV Festival and even played at the annual exhibitors’ convention, CinemaCon,...

Say hello to sequel season.
That might as well be the nickname for this summer’s slate of potential blockbusters. Over the next four months, Hollywood is rolling out what it hopes will be a winning mix of follow-ups, reboots and spinoffs from tested franchises like “Despicable Me” and the Marvel Cinematic Universe as it looks to reinvigorate the shaky movie theater business.
Last summer flipped the script: New properties, such as “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer,” ruled, while entries in aging series, like “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” and “Mission Impossible 7,” missed the mark. This time out, the tried-and-true may yet prevail. Original offerings like Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt’s action-comedy “The Fall Guy” and Kevin Costner’s Western “Horizon: An American Saga” will attempt to lure audiences. But analysts anticipate that overly familiar brands — “Despicable Me 4,” Marvel’s “Deadpool & Wolverine,” and Pixar’s “Inside Out 2...

Doctor Strange Director Reflects On Why Joaquin Phoenix Did Not Get The Marvel Role( Photo Credit – IMDb )
Benedict Cumberbatch is an accomplished actor whose fame increased after starring as Doctor Strange in the MCU. Things would have been different if Joaquin Phoenix had donned the Cloak of Levitation. Director Scott Derrickson has recently opened up on why Phoenix did not land the Marvel role. Phoenix found his place in the DC Universe and even won an Oscar for his performance as the twisted villain, Joker.
Derrickson was associated with the Doctor Strange movie, released in 2016. The film was made on a reported budget of $165 million and earned a staggering $677.8 million globally. The movie featured an ensemble of cast members, including Mads Mikkelson, Tilda Swinton, Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong, and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Producer Kelly McCormick isn’t prone to counting chickens before they hatch, especially when they come in the form of $125 million blockbusters built around the long-gestating resurrection of some classic TV IP. But, given the critical affection already poured on her latest, “The Fall Guy,” and the apparent readiness of the moviegoing public to see a tentpole that truly has it all (plus stunts so massive they are already literal world record-breakers), it might be time for McCormick to start thinking “franchise potential” right now.
As co-founder of the production and action design company 87North — along with her husband, “The Fall Guy” director David Leitch — McCormick is a major player in the action space. Man, does she have fun with it. She’s produced everything from “Bullet Train” and “Atomic Blonde” to “Nobody,” along with executive producing “Deadpool 2” and “Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.”

Ryan Gosling thinks stunt performers are the unsung heroes of the film industry. The 43-year-old actor stars alongside Emily Blunt in 'The Fall Guy' - which is loosely based on a TV series about stunt performers - and Ryan has stressed their importance to the movie business. He told the BBC: "They dress like us, they do the dangerous things for us. They take the hits for us, they put themselves in harm's way for us."They play our characters as well, they're actors too, in the same union. But they hide their face and disappear into the shadows and everyone pretends they weren't there."The better they are at their job, the more they disappear in a way. It ends now. We're flipping the script."Ryan admires the courageous attitude of stunt performers. The actor explained: "They risk more than anyone. Their work is an art form,...

Minds were blown at Tuesday night’s Hollywood premiere of The Fall Guy, when after walking the red carpet with his co-star Emily Blunt, Ryan Gosling reappeared with Mikey Day in full costume as Beavis and Butt-Head.
The two appeared together just over two weeks ago in a Saturday Night Live sketch that quickly became one of the show’s most viral clips in years.
After posing for photos together and with fans on the red carpet, the duo interrupted an interview with Emily Blunt, where they introduced themselves as Dean and Jeff, two guys who met a few weeks back at an AI conference.
Although they famously broke character on SNL, Gosling and Day managed to keep it together throughout the interview, with Gosling-as-Dean even keeping a straight face as he asked Blunt, “Were you in Salmon Fishing in Yemen? I love that film, Emily Blarnt!”

Could The Fall Guy convince the Academy to finally make a stunts Oscar category? Ryan Gosling seems to think so.
Tomorrow marks the release of The Fall Guy here in the UK, with Ryan Gosling looking to build on the surge in popularity he has enjoyed since wowing audiences as Ken in last year’s Barbie.
Now, Gosling is set to open 2024’s blockbuster season with the action comedy directed by David Leitch and co-starring Emily Blunt.
Despite being the film’s star, Gosling used the film’s premiere to direct some love towards the stunt performers who made the film (and many others like it), calling the movie “a love letter to the stunt community.” With the film’s director David Leitch having worked his way to directing via the career of stunt performer, we’re hoping the movie delivers on that promise and despite the obviously comedic tone,...

The Fall Guy, which tells the story of Ryan Gosling’s down-and-out stuntman, fully embraced the action at its Los Angeles premiere on Tuesday, with stuntmen fighting, falling and riding motorcycles all over the red carpet.
Held at the Dolby Theatre, the premiere transformed Hollywood Boulevard into its own movie set, as two stuntmen did wheelies down the press line on their motorbikes, followed by another jumping off a multi-story platform onto the carpet entrance. Then, Gosling stood between two of his stunt doubles from the film — all dressed in matching suits — as the performers were ripped through the step-and-repeat. Later, three stuntmen broke though glass to enter the carpet and fight each other in front of the crowd; and right before the screening, another jumped from the balcony of the Dolby down onto the stage to join the cast.

Beavis and Butt-Head made an unexpected red carpet debut at the Los Angeles premiere of “The Fall Guy” on Tuesday night.
Ryan Gosling and Mikey Day appeared on the carpet together dressed as live-action versions of Beavis and Butt-Head, respectively, from the infamous “Saturday Night Live” sketch.
After initially posing for photos in a mint green monochromatic suit, Gosling disappeared while his “Fall Guy” co-star Emily Blunt, along with the rest of the cast and crew, did interviews. When he returned to the carpet, Gosling — wearing a prosthetic nose, blonde wig and Beavis’ signature “Death Rock” T-shirt — had a peculiar plus one by his side: Butt-Head (Day).

He continued, “We are the face of these films, but the crews really make the movies, and this is a love letter to them.”

It appears Ryan Gosling and Mikey Day reprised their iconic Beavis and Butt-Head characters sooner than fans were likely expecting.
The actor was joined by the Saturday Night Live star on Tuesday night at the Los Angeles premiere of Gosling’s latest movie, The Fall Guy.
After the Barbie star initially walked the red carpet at the Dolby Theatre in a mint-green Gucci suit with his co-star Emily Blunt, Gosling later returned — only this time looking a bit different.
Gosling and Day posed for photos as their live-action depictions of Beavis and Butt-Head, the main characters from the hit ’90s adult animated series. Gosling was seen with a blonde wig and blue shirt with words that read, “Death Rock,” and Day had on a gray shirt with the word, “Skull.”

Ryan Gosling and Mikey Day brought their Saturday Night Live characters to Hollywood!
The 43-year-old actor and the 44-year-old comedian dressed up as Beavis and Butt-Head once again while attending the premiere of The Fall Guy at Dolby Theatre on Tuesday (April 30) in Los Angeles.
Ryan and Mikey brought the animated characters to life for a skit on SNL when Ryan hosted two weeks prior, and it caused some to break character during the sketch.
The skit took place during a NewsNation livestream event about AI and they played two audience members who just so happened to look exactly like Beavis and Butt-Head, but denied that they were the characters.
Fellow SNL cast member Heidi Gardner was surprised by their looks when she turned around to see them and couldn’t help but laugh.
If you somehow missed the skit, you can check it out right here!

Despite David Leitch’s background as a stunt actor and coordinator, not to mention the fact that his co-directorial debut, John Wick, set a bar for hard-hitting action, there’s been a certain weightlessness to every film he’s made since his sophomore film, Atomic Blonde. From Deadpool 2 to Bullet Train, they all glide along as briskly and smoothly as, well, a bullet train. They’re sleek, sure, but they’re also free of any heft or tactile quality.
The Fall Guy, then, is a modest improvement, in that there’s at least a sense of physicality to some of its action sequences, though that’s to be expected: As this is a film about the making of a movie, so much of the action that we’re watching has yet to be beefed up by chaotic editing and CGI noise. And thanks to magnetic performances by Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt,...

The Fall Guy is a movie that celebrates and spotlights the importance of stunt performers, dressed up in an entertaining action thriller that has a real commitment to giving audiences a good time. Helped along, of course, by Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt. But they aren’t the only ones making this film what it is, as we had the pleasure in speaking to the supporting star Winston Duke, as well as director & producer team (and husband and wife); David Leitch and Kelly McCormick.
We speak about the roles of stunt performers, and whether they believe there could be a chance of a stunt Oscar in the foreseeable future. We speak about Spielberg seeing (and liking) the movie, while with Duke, who we could’ve spoken to for hours, we get deep into the differences between Schwarzenegger, and Stallone. Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt are ready to leap into action later this week when The Fall Guy races into theaters. As the blistery winter winds blow away and the summer heat increases in certain parts of the world, the duo’s new action-packed homage to stunt performers arrives to take the box office (and your wallet) by storm! Analysts expect The Fall Guy to reach $30M+ in its opening gambit, with some studio execs saying the film could reach $35-40 million.
While a box office opening in the 30s would be solid for an original action film, The Fall Guy cost a reported $130 million to produce. If you like the film, be sure to sing its praises from the rafters. Word of mouth goes a long way with films like this, regardless of the fact that two of Hollywood’s heaviest hitters lead the charge. Meanwhile, The Fall Guy...

Zendaya’s brand new romantic sports drama Challengers has been at everyone’s hearing pretty much before the movie finally hit the cinemas last week. The film also starring The Crown’s star Josh O’Connor and Mike Faist eventually made all the hype in social media work for itself and didn’t take much time to dethrone Alex Garland’s post-apocalyptic hit Civil War from the box office top.
Though all the stars seem to still align for Challengers’ blast as the movie started its theatrical run only several days ago, some earlier predictions for its success show that it actually could’ve done better.
According to earlier reports that were released ahead of Challengers’ world premiere in theaters, the movie was projected to gross at least $20 million in the domestic run while the international numbers were supposed to ultimately cement Luca Guadagnino’s drama’s hit status.

Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, two essential ingredients in the “Barbenheimer” phenomenon, will leave Barbieland and Los Alamos behind them as they team up for “The Fall Guy.” But will audiences turn up in force to see the “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” stars when their new action comedy debuts this weekend?
Well, “The Fall Guy” isn’t going to hit those films’ box office heights, but it should have no trouble topping charts as it kicks off the summer movie season. The film is expected to earn north of $30 million, with some rival studio executives pegging the opening at between $35 million to $40 million. The catch is that movie wasn’t cheap to produce, boasting a healthy budget of $130 million, so “The Fall Guy” will need strong word-of-mouth if it’s going to leg it out on the long path to profitability. It will also need to do well overseas. “The Fall Guy...

Ostensibly a big-screen reboot of the 1980s television series of the same name, “The Fall Guy” is actually director and former stunt performer David Leitch’s love letter to both his wife, producer Kelly McCormick, and the undersung art of stunt work — only not always in that order.
Working closely with screenwriter and executive producer Drew Pearce, who previously scripted his “Fast and the Furious” spinoff “Hobbs & Shaw,” Leitch creates a clearinghouse of gobsmacking stunts (some truly record-breaking) while chronicling the tumultuous relationship between veteran stunt man Colt Seavers (Ryan Gosling) and first-time director Jody Moreno (Emily Blunt). It’s quick-witted (and quick-footed) fun that bridges multiple generations of Hollywood moviemaking, melding together rom-coms and bombastic action into one blockbuster package.
Since making his screenwriting debut on Shane Black’s “Iron Man 3,” Pearce has developed an aptitude for conceiving stories that maintain a singular yet cohesive tonal balance.

The domestic box office at $2 billion currently this year is dragging 21% behind the same January-April spread last year, and when Universal’s Fall Guy commences the hot moviegoing season this Friday with a hopeful $35M, expect summer to drag some more.
That’s because the lack of product due to the actors’ strike has made a backloaded May through Labor Day frame in what will be lucky —lucky— to hit $3 billion. That’s a $1 billion less than last summer’s $4.09 billion per Comscore and -27% off. More bad news about summer: It’s not going to catch up the year any more against 2023.
Essentially, expect less and hope for more. Remember, no one saw Barbenheimer and Sound of Freedom coming last summer and that trio collectively minted $1.15 billion. If anything, summer 2024 is more about getting moviegoers back into the habit of moviegoing than breaking any records.

The Fall Guy Producer On Ryan Gosling & Emily Blunt’s On-Screen Relationship ( Photo Credit – IMDb )
Emily Blunt and Ryan Gosling created box office history with their respective movies last year. Oppenheimer and Barbie not only clashed at the theatres, but both were successful. The Barbenheimer clash [Barbie & Oppenheimer] was one of the most talked about topics on social media last year, and now the actors have paired up for the movie The Fall Guy about stunt performers. Producer Kelly McCormick has recently given an insight into Ryan and Emily’s incredible chemistry on the film’s set.
Emily and Ryan are two of the biggest movie stars in Hollywood, and they rekindled their Barbenheimer banter on the 96th Academy Awards stage last month. Although Blunt did not take home the golden statuette, her team ruled the night with seven wins, including Best Picture. Meanwhile, Ryan’s Barbie won the box office war last year.
