CNN’s new morning show CNN This Morning launched Tuesday with a news-heavy three hours that nevertheless played up an essential element of rival shows: conversation and chemistry.

As we previously reported, Game has vowed to buy a whole bunch of Lonzo Ball's $495 per pair ZO2 kicks instead of Air Jordans ... partially because he doesn't feel Mj has done enough for black people. But Granderson says Game is simply misinformed when it comes to Jordan -- telling TMZ Sports, "Jordan does give back to the community.

Artie Burns had just turned 21 when his healthy, 44-year-old mom collapsed without warning. Burns rushed to be by her side at the hospital, just in time to say goodbye. "Just seeing her like that - it was probably one of the worst images I ever saw," Burns, a cornerback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, tells People. With his father serving a 25-year prison sentence, Burns' two younger brothers Thomas, 16, and Jordan, 13, were suddenly orphaned overnight. Despite having his own 19-month old baby to take care of and being consumed by training for the NFL draft, Burns legally adopted his two younger brothers.

Last week in this space I discussed some political incidents, namely Rep. Todd Akin’s comments about women and rape, Tennessee state Sen. Stacey Campfield (R) who talked about how heterosexual sex doesn’t result in AIDS, and how Texas Judge Tom Head talked about how Obama’s re-election could result in Civil War. I said, “Individually, they are incidents; link them together and they’re a narrative.” Let us examine that further.
Our lives are filled with narrative. Elements are selected, others are omitted, some are highlighted and some are downplayed. That’s how a story is put together; what’s important to the narrative we’re telling? Does that make it untrue?
No. Not all elements, not all facts, are pertinent to a given narrative. An honest narrative attempts to get at a truth; a dishonest narrative tries to obscure it.
We all create narrative. I was listening...

Madonna never fails to get people talking.

Madonna has largely been out of the public eye for a few years, but with her movie W.E. premiering, a new album, and a Super Bowl half time show, she seems ready to take her rightful place as the center of pop culture. What's it like to figure out you're gay and then begin the process of coming out? Well, for most of my life, I felt doomed. I could imagine no path that would allow me to realize my authentic self. I felt the need to lie, even to myself, insisting: I am straight. When uncomfortable longings for the same sex came up, I drank them down, using alcohol to suppress my gay leanings. Sixteen years ago I finally got sober and gave up the substances that enabled me to numb and escape. That's when I had to face myself. I surrendered to the truth, admitting to myself, then to my therapist, and finally to my family and friends: I am a lesbian. It was only after coming out that I realized how emotionally constrained my life had been. Someone once told me that being in the closet is like living in a vertical casket.
