David Grant is an accomplished composer, arranger, producer and pianist whose professional skills bring a unique combination of traditional training in classical music, as well as Pop, Jazz, and other musical genres. His credits includes several film scores and a documentary. His work in television won him an Emmy Award in 1996 for "outstanding musical composition and direction" as well as Emmy nominations in both 1997 and 1998. David has extensive record production and keyboard credits including performances for Chaka Khan, Tom Grant, Daryl Hall, as well as many other accomplished artists. As a pianist, David's work includes studies with Paul Jacobs, Augustin Anievas, Anthony DiBonaventura, Josef Raieff and Charlie Banacas, a respected and well-known jazz teacher/pianist local to the Boston music scene. Mr. Grant's music studies began at the age of five with his father, also a concert pianist. David has performed extensively on the piano, including performances at Lincoln Center's Paul Hall, Gershwin Theatre, and Walt Whitman Concert Hall. His recorded performances have been broadcast over WNYC and WBCR, which operate in the New York metropolitan area. Mr. Grant is a member of The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, and The Society of Composers and Lyricists. Mr. Grant is an alumnus of The Juilliard School of Music in New York City, Boston University and Brooklyn College.
