Get ready, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin fans – the finale is here and it’s a creepy wild ride. Season one episode 10 – “Final Girls” – starts off back on December 31, 1999 at the Waters’ house. Rose Waters (Jeanette Bonner) takes a page from the mom in Carrie and is upset with Angela (Gabriella Pizzolo), pointing out her makeup and how she’s showing off her body. Rose blames her daughter for being raped, claiming she invited it.
Angela, rightfully, tells her mother it’s not her fault. Rose tells her not to go to the party but Angela storms out.
Present day, December 14th: Faran (Zaria) is happy her dad’s been released from jail, and Zeke (Benton Greene) confirms he believes this was a warning from Sheriff Beasley.

There's a new group of Pretty Little Liars in town. Five years after the Freeform series came to an end, "Pretty Little Liars" is being revived by HBO Max with a brand new cast. Written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Lindsay Calhoon Bring, the series, which is titled "Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin," promises more suspense and horror than the original.
"We're such huge fans of what I. Marlene King and her iconic cast created, we knew that we had to treat the original series as #canon and do something different," Aguirre-Sacasa and Calhoon Bring said in a joint statement, per Deadline. "So we're leaning into the suspense and horror in this reboot, which hopefully will honor what the fans loved about the hit series, while weaving in new, unexpected elements." "Roberto and Lindsay are expanding the 'Pretty Little Liars' universe with more murder, mysteries, and scandal, and we can't wait,...

An oldie, but goodie on this Halloween day, October 31, 2014... It's a short film we featured on this blog at least 2 years ago, so long-time readers will likely remember it. For those who haven't seen it, written and directed by Bree Newsome, and titled "Wake," the 21-minute horror-drama film's synopsis reads: "A repressed woman does away with her domineering father, freeing herself to pursue her heart's desire. Using a local folk magic called "root-work," she conjures a demon to aid her in creating the man of her dreams-- but soon finds herself in a waking nightmare." The film stars Sahr Ali, Christina Faison and Benton Greene. Watch: ...

I saw this short film last year, as one of the judges of the 2011 Urbanworld Film Festival short film competition. And it's the film that the 3 of us (judges) unanimously selected as the winner of the contest. Using a local folk magic called "root-work", she conjures a demon to aid her in creating the man of her dreams-- but soon finds herself in a waking nightmare.
