It's been more than five years since Jamie Dornan first debuted as Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey, but he still gets his share of odd fan mail about the role. The 38-year-old actor, who stars in the upcoming film Wild Mountain Thyme, told Variety that he recently heard from a Fifty Shades fan who was apparently convinced that Dornan had conceived a child with actress Dakota Johnson, known for playing Anastasia Steele in the sexy film trilogy. According to Dornan, the individual sent him "a collage of photographs of a kid," accompanied by a note. "Someone saying that it was my kid, and my wife should know that I have this kid who's 7 years old," the actor...

Jamie Dornan was in lockdown with his family when he received a fan letter that was more than a little creepy. The star of the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movies was sent “a collage of photographs of a kid,” with a note about his most famous role.
“Someone saying that it was my kid, and my wife should know that I have this kid who’s 7 years old,” Dornan, 38, says over a Zoom call. He squints to absorb the weirdness of this allegation. “I think they were trying to say that the kid was mine and Dakota Johnson’s, and we’d had this baby while we made the first ‘Fifty Shades’ movie,” Dornan says. “It piqued our interest, let’s say. It was a bit freaky.”
Dornan learned all about freaky things when he suited up as Christian Grey, the sexually adventurous businessman based on the E.L. James books that became a cultural phenomenon.

Netflix subscribers don’t quite know what to make of 365 Dni, a Polish drama that includes a number of disturbing sex scenes between a mafia hitman and his hostage that isn’t like anything else the streamer has offered in the past.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with the source material – which is very likely considering most Americans had never even heard of this foreign film until it joined the streamer’s library only a few days ago – 365 Dni, also known simply as 365 Days, follows a businesswoman named Laura who finds herself kidnapped and imprisoned by a fearsome mob boss while holidaying in Sicily.
Dni, which can also be viewed by Netflix subscribers over in the UK, includes a number of disturbing sex scenes that involve a hefty amount of Bdsm, and which have caused some controversy over on this side of the globe.

Is it possible to choose between Jamie Dornan and Christian Grey? Just ask Dakota Johnson. The High Note star had pick between her Fifty Shades of Grey co-star and his alter ego while playing a game of "Would You Rather" during her virtual visit to Stir Crazy with Josh Horowitz, where she was asked who she'd enlist to join an erotic book club with her. "Probably Jamie," she said. "He's a lot funnier than Christian Grey." During the game, Johnson's infamous gap was also brought up when she was asked to choose between having a 4-inch gap in her teeth or sporting bangs that covered her eyes. As she contemplated the question, she joked that she's been trying to get...

Twelve years after the last book in the Twilight series, it’s time to once again decide whether you’re on Team Edward or Team Jacob.
Author Stephenie Meyer recently announced that the long-awaited novel Midnight Sun is set for an official release on August 4th, 2020. Interestingly, this isn’t a direct continuation or even a prequel to the existing story, but rather a retelling of the first Twilight from the point of view of Edward Cullen.
The intention of the book is to show us how Edward reacted to Bella coming into his life. This will specifically explore his feelings on meeting his ‘singer’ (a human whose blood is more tempting than anyone else’s). We’ll see Edward discussing Bella with his fellow vampires, more detail into the lives of the Olympic Coven, their perspective on regular humans and the specifics of Edward’s trip to Alaska after his first meeting with Bella.

When the coronavirus pandemic hit the United States, Jamie Dornan was in New York, about to shoot a new TV series.
But as production shut down on “Dr. Death,” the 37-year-old actor flew back to his home in England, where he’s been in self-isolation with his wife and three children.
Dornan, the star of the “Fifty Shades” franchise, recently joined Instagram, posting a funny video with his face covered in blue paint for an upcoming role — a leap for a normally private person. This week, he’s been getting ready for the release of his latest film, “Endings, Beginnings,” a drama directed by Drake Doremus, which debuted at last fall’s Toronto Film Festival.
In the movie, Dorman plays an Irish writer smitten by a woman (Shailene Woodley) that both he and his best friend (Sebastian Stan) meet at a party. “Endings, Beginnings” is now available in homes on digital.

Filmmaker Drake Doremus is making himself a specialist in love-hate relationships, a kind of cinema couples therapist in such films as Like Crazy, Breathe In, Equals, and Newness. With his latest film — Endings, Beginnings — Doremus breaks from the couples path to home in on one character. Her name is Daphne, and she’s drifting into her thirties in Los Angeles (the ultimate place to drift) while having a love-hate relationship with herself. Don’t yawn. As played with banked fire by a terrific Shailene Woodley, Daphne earns our rooting interest.

Following the massive success of the “Fifty Shades of Grey” trilogy, Universal and author E. L. James are reteaming on the scribe’s next novel as the studio has optioned the rights to “The Mister,” James’ 2019 best-selling romance.

James, who produced every film in the “Fifty Shades” trilogy, returns to produce this adaptation, which tells the story of a wealthy British aristocrat who falls in love with his Albanian housekeeper, unaware that she is on the run from human traffickers.
“The Mister” was on the New York Times Best Seller list for nine weeks and has sold in 33 territories/languages internationally.

Fifty Shades of Grey fans have much to be excited about with E.L. James's new steamy book, The Mister. While the passionate romance novel bears no resemblance to the five-book and three-film Fifth Shades franchise, eagle-eyed fans noticed a subtle connection between the novels, and it's all in a name. According to Entertainment Weekly, the protagonist, Maxim Trevelyan, has the same last name as Christian Grey's adopted mother's maiden name. Sneaky, sneaky!
"There is a story behind it but it's not one I want to talk about right now," James told the publication. "I might talk about it later. But - there's a connection, I don't know what it is yet."

Fifty Shades of Grey fans, we have some news to cure your steamy book withdrawals (and make you feel a little hot under the collar). E.L. James, the mastermind behind the five-book and three-film Fifth Shades franchise, just released a brand-new book - and no, it doesn't revolve around Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. Titled The Mister, the novel focuses on Maxim Trevelyan, an aristocratic Englishman who falls for Alessia Demachi, a mysterious woman with a hostile past.
While exclusively announcing the novel on the Today show back in January, James likened it to a modern-day version of Cinderella and described it as "a passionate, erotic love story" with plenty of sex-filled pages to boot. As if that wasn't enough to sell you, an official description of the tale notes that it's "a roller-coaster ride of danger and desire that leaves the reader breathless to the very last page.

“Cold Pursuit” might have all the trappings of those junky late-era Liam Neeson movies where the aging Irish actor murders a small army of people like some kind of Aarp-eligible Rambo, but Hans Petter Moland’s mordantly hilarious comic thriller doesn’t wait long to defile expectations. The fact that it opens with an Oscar Wilde quote should be enough to confuse anyone who’s bracing for another tedious riff on “Taken.” The quote reads: “Some cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go,” and while that may seem like a pretentious little preamble for a film that features Neeson shooting a bridal shop clerk in the face with a sawed-off sniper rifle, it turns out to be the perfect table-setting for a fiendishly entertaining, pitch-black revenge story about a decent man who develops a violent knack for being the worst the worst part of anyone’s day.

Dakota Johnson in Suspiria.Dakota Johnson looks like she has a secret. Her expression is often opaque, but her eyes are cat-like: teasing, and intelligent. The actress wields her inscrutability like a weapon; in the 50 Shades of Grey trilogy it’s a survival tactic that allows her to evade the chokehold grip of a pretty-boy narcissist. In A Bigger Splash, it’s a means of coquetry. In The Social Network, in which she appears for just over three minutes, she plays it for laughs, animating Aaron Sorkin’s script and undercutting an otherwise bro-y college campus conquest with sardonic humor.Daughter of actors Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson and granddaughter to Tippi Hedren, the 29-year-old comes from a line of gifted screen performers. All four demonstrate craft, but only Dakota could be described as withholding. In Suspiria, Johnson’s second collaboration with Guadagnino, her Susie Bannion is also an enigmatic creation.

So, do you think movie fans will escape the holiday shopping mania for some good old-fashioned swashbuckling? What, you think most of them never “buckled a swash”. Well, not for a couple of years or so when King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword was the first of several box office duds of Summer 2016. But why give it another go? From many reports, it appears that another movie company wants to set up its own “universe”, much like Marvel Studios. But they and Warner/DC have all those known superheroes, Disney’s got their animated classics to remake in live-action, and Universal’s monster legacy started and ended with the Tom Cruise Mummy. Since there are loads of secret agents, why not go back to the old legends (plus they’re in the public domain). In the opening sequence of the latest big-screen “Robin Hood,” Lady Marian breaks into Robin’s barn to steal a horse. Carefully pacing her steps, Marian is covered in a hood, with a scarf covering half of her face and a dress that covers her up entirely — except for her chest, due to a very deep, low-cut front that has no purpose other than to show off some cleavage.
But objectifying the only woman in the cast with a speaking role isn’t the only crime “Robin Hood” commits. Rife with stereotypes, a terrible script, and odd “300”-esque cinematography that just doesn’t fit, this is not only a film nobody asked for, but also one that nobody should be forced to endure.

Christian Grey will see you now! Jamie Dornan, who has played Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise for three years now, is officially a 2018 E! People's Choice Awards finalist, and he didn't see it coming. On Thursday, E! News caught up with the Irish actor at the premiere for My Dinner with Hervé, which premieres Oct. 20 at 8 p.m. exclusively on HBO, and informed him of his finalist status. Despite stripping down on screen and being exposed to his fans for three movies now, he got a little bashful when he learned that he was up for the iconic role. "No. For what?" Dornan told E! News at the event when asked if he had heard about his PCAs finalist nod. "Oh,...

The Proposal aired its final episode last night with Amber Green as the mystery woman in the pod. The blonde single mom from Austin, Texas wanted to find a man who could be polite and classy in the streets, but be Mr. Christian Grey in the bedroom. Amber, who has two children and a cordial relationship with her ex-husband, wanted to find a new man to keep her on her toes. Before the show really got started, Amber revealed that she had left […]

The Proposal is back with the finale of season one tonight on ABC. This week, it’s mystery woman Amber who will be picking her final two guys to propose to her. From the promotional material, all we know about Amber is she is a blonde single mom from Texas, and that she wants a man who knows how to behave in the streets while knowing how to be experimental in the bedroom. ABC has remained tight-lipped about Amber’s identity, but the episode description reveals that she wants a man who is the perfect mix between “Mr. Rogers and Christian Grey”. […]

Now retired as Christian Grey, Jamie Dornan needs something else to do — so why not co-star with Peter Dinklage in “My Dinner With Hervé,” a new biopic set to debut this October on HBO?
In the 30-second teaser trailer below, the premise of HBO’s latest biopic gets laid out pretty cleanly: Danny Tate (Dornan) is a journalist assigned to speak with Villechaize (Dinklage), “the most famous dwarf in the world.” Villechaize promises he has a story to tell about his life as the star of projects including “The Man With the Golden Gun” and “Fantasy Island.”
While Dinklage does not share Villechaize’s French/Filipino heritage, he is a two-time Emmy winner for his work on “Game of Thrones” and seems committed to mastering the accent work involved. Per HBO, the cast also includes:
Mireille Enos as Hervé’s longtime girlfriend, Kathy Self; Harriet Walter as Danny’s newspaper editor,...

Silver screen heartthrob Jamie Dornan is looking to whip up an architecturally minded buyer for a sexy mid-century modern residence in the upper reaches of Los Angeles’s scenic and celeb-packed Nichols Canyon that’s now available at $3.195 million. The Northern Irish former fashion model and folk musician, best and perhaps forever known as handsome young billionaire and sexual psychopath Christian Grey in the critically excoriated yet spectacularly popular S/M-themed “Fifty Shades” film trilogy, purchased the property just over two years ago for $2.843 million from “Narnia” producer Vincent Sieber. The single-level, glass-walled residence, little if not at all altered during Dornan’s ownership, modestly measures in at 2,510-square-feet with three and potentially four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms.
Originally designed and built in 1959 by prolific mid-century architect Edward H. Fickett, the house was, per marketing materials provided by broker Jeff Kohl at The Agency, “re-conceptualized and expanded” in the mid-1960s by Val Powelson,...

At New York’s Serendipity 3 café, money-is-no-object customers can order a $1,000 sundae that’s garnished with gold leaf. Like plunking a cherry atop such an extravagant dessert, the delirious sugar high that is “Crazy Rich Asians” ends with fireworks exploding along the roof of Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands hotel — one of the world’s most expensive buildings. Surprisingly enough, it’s the first touch that genuinely feels over-the-top in a movie that expertly manages to balance the opulence of incalculable wealth with the pragmatic, well-grounded sensibility embodied by its heroine, Rachel Chu (Constance Wu), a middle-class economics professor who discovers that her Singapore-born boyfriend is not just handsome but worth more than the Gdp of most countries.

Say it ain't so! Fans were outraged when President Trump's Supreme Court nominee announcement interrupted The Bachelorette on July 9 and pushed back The Proposal. Several viewers thought their favorite television shows were going to be cut off or not air at all — after waiting patiently all week — so many took to Twitter to air their grievances. Another hilariously added: "Trump is getting in the way of #TheProposal. Who cares about some ol' #Scotus appointee. rolls eyes." One more agreed, writing: "This is going to make #TheProposal run late. Some of us have jobs that we have to get up for." Fans of the franchise were totally freaking out, but Chris Harrison...

When Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced their engagement, I got an alert about it on my phone. I rolled over, squinted at it, and promptly threw it across the room. I mean, I sort of anticipated that the news was coming soon, but seeing the official announcement really sealed in the hard, cold reality of the situation: another royal freakin' wedding. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Meghan and Harry. In fact, I think they're adorable together. I also think it's refreshing that Meghan isn't some noble with a snooty-tooty aristocratic background. The royal fangirls of the world, who are weirdly possessive over their fantasy prince, might think she's "not good enough" and isn't "fit to be a royal," but that's clearly hogwash. All it takes to be a royal is to 1.) have a large arsenal of funny-looking hats, 2.) be good at waving, and 3.) be photogenic. Meghan clearly has all three down,...

Four female friends think they can spice up their book club, and maybe their love lives, by wallowing in the kinky prose of E.L. James' Fifty Shades of Grey. That's the premise of this life-after-60 comedy, and there's not a doubt in the world that it's a pleasure to bask in the company of the four lead actresses – Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen and Mary Steenburgen. Until, that is, you see what debuting director Bill Holderman and his cowriter Erin Simms have concocted for this quartet of greats.

Besides the numerous raunchy one-liners spoken by the central quartet of aging stars for easy laughs, there’s one short passage from Fifty Shades of Grey that’s actually read onscreen. It comes courtesy of Candice Bergen’s Sharon and deals with the inexplicable decision to arouse Anastasia Steele with the “friction” of Christian Grey’s zipper. The line is a perfect barometer for whether you’re the target audience of E.L. James’ trilogy or Book Club, Bill Holderman and Erin Simms’ romantic comedy utilizing it as a catalyst for refueled libidos. You either giggle while continuing to read with baited breath and excitement, like Sharon, or squint in confusion before putting the book down forever. Being in the latter category, I’m obviously not this film’s target demographic. But I liked it anyway.
This isn’t a result I anticipated, considering the premise. Sharon’s a divorced and...

It’s a credit to TV’s greater curiosity and openmindedness that when I beheld the four stars of “Book Club” — actresses ranging in age from 65 to 80 — my thoughts turned to how recently I’d seen them on their respective shows or in headlines about their upcoming series.
The ensemble romantic comedy benefits enormously from Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda and Mary Steenburgen keeping their comedic and dramatic muscles warmed up. None of the women are asked to do anything too strenuous in “Book Club,” but their collective charisma — along with their male co-stars’ — add up to an irresistible charmfest.
The premise of “Book Club” sounds, to be honest, excruciatingly dumb: A quartet of elderly friends are inspired by the “50 Shades of Grey” books to spice up their sex lives. But first-time director Bill Holderman, who penned the script with Erin Simms, smartly adds a pinch of salt to the sweetness...

Charlie Hunnam continued to enjoy his time in Hawaii, where he’s shooting upcoming Netflix movie Triple Frontier with Ben Affleck and Oscar Isaac.
On Friday, he went for a run with costar Garrett Hedlund, and both actors opted to forego shoes and tops for the training session. Hunnam, wearing black shorts and holding his top in hand, acted as coach, giving pointers to Hedlund, who sported grey shorts and a baseball cap for the workout.
When he’s not working on his fitness, the King Arthur actor is making the most of his time in Hawaii.

If “The Daily Show” host Trevor Noah is right, he can share partial credit for the lightning-quick downfall of New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman. Well, kinda.
Ronan Farrow, who co-wrote with Jane Mayer the New Yorker story in which four women accused Schneiderman of sexual abuse, was the show’s guest on Monday. And according to Noah on Tuesday’s show, Farrow apparently filed the final draft just before taping his segment.
Noah related how in the green room before filming, Farrow finished and filed a story with his editor. Farrow didn’t say what the story was, but, well, you saw the news yesterday.
“I had no idea he was ending an attorney general’s career over our wifi,” Noah joked. “And since I pay for the wifi I’d like to think that I did my part.”

The story came in the middle of a lengthy “The Daily Show” segment about Schneiderman, who resigned just three hours after the story was published.
Earlier, Noah noted that “the reason the story is getting so much attention is that Eric Schneiderman isn’t just the New York attorney general, but because he’s a national figure now, he’s one of the biggest opponents of President Trump’s agenda… and more than that, because Schneiderman presented himself as an advocate for women.”
Cue video of Schneiderman speaking publicly in support of women reporting sexual abuse.
“It seems this guy was trying to put Harvey Weinstein in jail while abusing women himself. This is like finding out that Robert Mueller has been taking secret vacations with Putin,” said Noah.
Later in the segment, “The Daily Show” correspondent Dulcé Sloan, who said of Schneiderman: “I think this guy is Christian Grey. Only without the looks. Without the money. Without the consent.”

Throughout the legacy of cinema, there have been phenomena that have just caught fire with the audience and proved to be 24-carat box office gold. Star Wars, James Bond, Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Transformers, the list goes on and on. However, among all these hit franchises and brands (often based on a previously existing property), arguably one of the most curious is Fifty Shades, the erotic drama/thriller franchise based on the highly successful if polarising book series by E. L. James. Now, as we arrive at the end of this trilogy, is Fifty Shades Freed a conclusion the feverish fanbase deserves or is it just further punishment? Well, what do you think?

Giving Fifty Shades Darker the CinemaSins treatment is something that wouldn’t be wise to speak of in front of fans that happen to love this trilogy. But to be honest there are so many things that you can pick apart in any movie that it seems too easy and way too tempting to not do so. One reason that Fifty Shades Darker is so easy to pick apart is that for all that it’s supposed to be a love story it does come off as kind of creepy and even misogynistic in several ways. Apparently Christian Grey is supposed to

This adaptation of the last book from El James’s trilogy sees the S&M saga run out of steam
The third film in this trilogy based on El James’s softcore novels about an S&M relationship might be more fittingly titled Fifty Shades Tied Up (or, rather, Fifty Shades Tied Down), given that it begins with the wedding of student Ana (Dakota Johnson) and billionaire Christian (Jamie Dornan). It opens with a marriage ceremony montage whose sombre voiceover is an indication of the sobering things to come (Dornan’s earnest rendition of Paul McCartney’s Maybe I’m Amazed being just one example). This repetitive, glassy-eyed finale feels more like a weak victory lap, offering little pleasure but plenty of lifestyle porn (not to mention product placement) by way of luxury cars, a decadent Paris honeymoon and an enviable alpine view bubble bath. There’s a low-stakes heist plot,...

Earlier this week, Fifty Shades Freed seduced audiences on Valentine's Day, grossing $10.8 million at the North American box office.
That was almost on par with last year's Valentine's Day haul of $11 million for the first sequel Fifty Shades Darker, signaling that many fans remain enthralled with the edgy sexual escapades of Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) and Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan), despite the fact that the E.L. They’re baaa-aaaack! Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, that is.
