As the golden era of "The Simpsons" started to die down in the late '90s, a bunch of other adult animated sitcoms rose to prominence, all vying for the cultural power Matt Groening's series once had. From "Futurama" to "King of the Hill" to "South Park," there was no shortage of shows that put their own spin on "The Simpsons" formula, and many of them are still going strong even today. But whereas the "South Park" writers stayed pretty respectful towards "The Simpsons," acknowledging explicitly in their 2006 "Cartoon Wars" special that the older show is far classier and more prestigious than their own, the writers of another prominent raunchy cartoon aimed for far more of a rivalry.

Many shocking deaths have taken place in television history including M*A*S*H’s Henry Blake and Knots Landing’s Sid Fairgate. However, even though we know George Cooper, Sr., played by Lance Barber, is likely to kick the bucket in the final season of Young Sheldon, we’re still going to be very sorry to see him go. Sheldon (Jim Parsons) didn’t paint the most flattering picture of his late dad on The Big Bang Theory. In fact, he rarely described his father in flattering terms, recalling such instances of his dad forcing to him watch football and teaching him how to shoot close enough to a raccoon that it “craps itself.” As far Sheldon was concerned, his dad would fit right in with Homer Simpson and Peter Griffin. However, our memories aren’t always fully accurate. In the able hands of both the Young Sheldon creative team and Barber,...

Despite being on network television, Seth MacFarlane's irreverent animated sitcom "Family Guy" can get away with a lot of edgy humor. With over 20 seasons under its belt, the show's reputation precedes it, and audiences are well-aware that the series is actively trying to push buttons through provocative satire and parody. However, during the show's original three-season run, before it got canceled and eventually resurrected thanks to a second wind from DVD sales, "Family Guy" didn't have the same power. That's why Fox initially refused to air one particular episode.
"When You Wish Upon a Weinstein" now sits firmly as part of the third season of "Family Guy," but it became an infamous installment after Fox axed the episode before it even aired. The episode in question finds dimwitted patriarch Peter Griffin (voiced by Seth MacFarlane) scammed by a man selling volcano insurance, something wholly unnecessary in Quahog, Rhode Island.

The current season of Fortnite Battle Royale has introduced players to refreshed mechanics, new weapons, map changes, and more. That being said, the game’s ever-expanding potential for new content keeps being the highlight, as speculations for the next season have started surfacing.
According to sources, it seems that the upcoming season will revolve around Greek mythos, introducing new characters to the battle pass. Furthermore, it’s likely that the game’s storyline will shift towards bringing these characters into ongoing in-game events.
The New Season Is Reportedly Codenamed ‘Odyssey’ The new Chapter introduced a lot of interesting mechanics.
The battle royale’s current season, Underground, is themed around a group of new (and old) characters who are working in secret to plan their moves against ongoing threats to the map. All of this will likely change with the arrival of a fresh season, sometime around March 8. Until then, there...

Animation mastermind Seth MacFarlane made a name for himself with the creation of "Family Guy." After working on Hanna-Barbera cartoons like "Dexter's Laboratory" and "Johnny Bravo," MacFarlane would bring his irreverent riff on the animated family sitcom to Fox in 1999. Though the series was initially canceled after three seasons, the show's release on DVD resulted in renewed interest from both audiences and the network, and the show has been running for 22 seasons and counting. Since then, MacFarlane has created several more animated hits, including "American Dad" and the "Family Guy" spin-off "The Cleveland Show," but he's also shifted into both live-action TV and movies, which includes the raunchy buddy comedy franchise "Ted."
"Ted" follows the antics of John Bennett (Mark Wahlberg), a thirty-something who is best friends with a teddy bear that magically came to life after wishing on a magic star when John was just a boy. It might sound family friendly and whimsical,...

On Jan. 31, 1999, Fox introduced Peter Griffin and Co. to America as Seth MacFarlane’s animated Family Guy series premiered. The show, canceled after its third season, was then revived and is now a broadcast staple in its 22nd season. The Hollywood Reporter’s original review is below:
If one is good and two are better, then surely three, four and five can’t miss. Or so the thinking goes at Fox, home of The Simpsons, King of the Hill and three midseason primetime animated comedies. Indeed, the third show, The PJs, is off to a good start, and the fourth, Family Guy, shows similar promise. (The fifth, Futurama, is not due for a couple of months.)
Family Guy is bright, entertaining and often witty and warm. In its post-Super Bowl slot Sunday, the show will receive high exposure. Viewers who develop an appetite for it, though, have to wait until March for the next episode.

Fox is looking to March for the return of its scripted slate.
The network has unveiled its midseason schedule including the return of The Cleaning Lady, Alert: Missing Persons Unit and Animal Control. The trio of scripted shows are premiering at the beginning of March following the writers and actors strike.
Elsewhere, Family Guy is moving to a midweek slot on Wednesdays after Animal Control, building out another comedy hour. It is thought to be the first time since the third season that Peter Griffin and family have aired midweek on Fox.
It comes after it pushed 9-1-1: Lone Star to the 2023/24 fall schedule alongside new series Doc and Rescue Hi-Surf, which had previously been eyed for a 2022/23 launch. No sign of the second season of Accused, however.

Family Guy is a divisive show. Whether that’s because of its rough and oftentimes offensive early episodes, the inevitable Simpsons comparisons, or even just Seth MacFarlane’s uncannily-handsome-for-an-animator visage, Family Guy is the kind of thing that few brag about enjoying.
Still, over the series’ remarkable 22-season run it has churned out some truly incredible jokes. Family Guy’s laissez faire approach to plot, continuity, and basic organization make it at times little more than a joke delivery machine. And reader, some of those jokes are so damn funny. Whether you watch the show regularly or just come across the occasional clip on TikTok, pretty much everyone has at least one Family Guy joke they can’t seem to get out of their head.
Here are some of ours.

Mila Kunis once shared how her hit show Family Guy managed to succeed despite facing overwhelming odds. She also gave a little insight into how another hit television series, Friends, played a part in Family Guy’s initial failures.
Mila Kunis’ ‘Family Guy’ had to go head to head with ‘Friends’ Mila Kunis | Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic
Kunis has been a part of Family Guy since the show’s second season, making her introduction as Meg in the third episode of season two. Prior to Kunis, Mean Girls star Lacey Chabert voiced the character. But series creator Seth MacFarlane believed she left the show due to contractual issues.
“You know, it was just purely a contractual thing. Lacey Chabert, I think there was a mistake in her contract, and I guess she had not intended to be involved for, like, the full run of the show. I don’t even remember.

Family Guy has had an impressive array of guest stars since it arrived on Fox in 1999.
The series continues to crack jokes with the recently launched Family Guy Season 22, which debuted earlier this month.
Sunday's new episode, Family Guy Season 22 Episode 3, titled "A 'Stach from the Past, pokes fun at Tom Selleck's reverse mortgage commercials for American Advisors Group.
If you watch live TV, there's a good chance you've seen the clips we're talking about, but we doubt you've witnessed them in animated form.
With the help of voice actor Josh Robert Thompson, Selleck's commercials get raked over the coals in this one, and TV Fanatic has an exclusive clip.
In the 90-second clip, we see the commercial in all its glory, with the fictional Selleck striking a connection through the screen with Peter.
If you watch Family Guy online, you know Peter is one of the easiest people to manipulate.
