British-born stage actor Rob Guest has died. He was 58.
The star was admitted to a hospital in Melbourne, Australia on Tuesday night after suffering a brain haemorrhage.
Guest was living in the country while performing in Wizard of Oz musical Wicked.
Producer John Frost says Guest's sudden death is a devastating blow to his family, friends and colleagues.
He says, "Rob never smoked, he would have a drink like most of us, he was reasonably fit, there was no sign at all."
The theatre actor was the world's longest serving star of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical, Phantom of the Opera, clocking up more than 2,000 performances as the legendary character.
His former Phantom co-star Marina Prior says Guest's death is a huge loss for Australian theatre.
She says, "He loved theatre. He never got sick of it.
"He was a theatrical animal and he was like a kid, he just loved what he did and it was contagious."...
