- Spanish-American ingénue of the 1930s. She began in films as a dress extra before being signed by Paramount to a two-year contract in 1931. In 1932 she was voted a WAMPAS Baby star. She was often cast as the female lead in low-budget westerns, particularly with Ken Maynard or John Wayne (who was her favorite co-star). She was married to Oscar-winning cinematographer Lee Garmes. After her retirement from acting, she ran an avocado farm in California.
