- Harry Hardt was born on August 4, 1899 in Pola, Küstenland, Austria-Hungary [now Pula, Istria, Croatia]. He was an actor and director, known for It Happened on July 20th (1955), The Making of a King (1935) and Merkwürdige Lebensgeschichte des Friedrich Freiherrn von der Trenck (1973). He died on November 14, 1980 in Vienna, Austria.
- On stage from 1919 and in films the following year. A popular and extremely busy character player, he was generally cast as authority figures: police inspectors, soldiers and aristocrats.
- Hardt came from an aristocratic family with a strong military tradition. Deferring to his father's wishes, he dropped out of art history studies to undergo officer training at a military academy. However, after World War I, he went his own way and embarked on an acting career instead.
