An official YouTube channel dedicated to the classic sitcom The Munsters and the franchise it spawned was launched three years ago, and as the years have gone by a whole lot of clips from the 1964 – 1966 show have been added to that channel. But now Universal has decided to go ahead and share a couple full movies on there as well: The Munsters’ Revenge from 1981 and Here Come the Munsters from 1995. Not only can both of those movies be viewed on the The Munsters channel, but they’re both embedded at the bottom of this article as well!
Directed by Don Weis from a script by Arthur Alsberg and Don Nelson, The Munsters’ Revenge reunites original sitcom stars Fred Gwynne, Yvonne De Carlo, and Al Lewis. The movie shows us what happens when Mad Dr. Diablo sends robot doubles of Herman and Grandpa Munster to steal art.

One reason that "Batman: The Animated Series" was and remains so beloved was how it embraced case-of-the-week storytelling. This was perfect for showcasing all the different corners and characters that make up the wild world of Gotham City. Such a large cast of characters meant that the series brought in a lot of actors; voice director Andrea Romano sought actors of all stripes for parts big and small. On the Popcorn & Shield podcast, the late Kevin Conroy (the voice of Batman) described the casting process as thus:
"They were really looking for actors, rather than just voice people. They cast a really wide net. So there were TV people, film people, stage people. Every week going in it was like going to summer camp, the people I got to work with."
Series co-creator Bruce Timm, also being interviewed, agreed with Conroy's sentiment. "Every week there was always some special, you know,...

The Munsters are, by design, a comedic reinvention of the classic monsters – Herman is Frankenstein’s monster, Lily is a vampire, Grandpa is Count Dracula, and Eddie is a werewolf – but other interpretations of iconic creatures occasionally made appearances.
Before TV’s first family of fright returns in Rob Zombie’s The Munsters, let’s look back at six classic monsters that have appeared in The Munsters Universe up to this point.
Creature from the Black Lagoon
Despite only appearing on screen for about a minute and a half, Uncle Gilbert is perhaps the most memorable member of the Munsters’ extended family. The reason is simple: he’s the Gill-man from the Creature from the Black Lagoon franchise.
In “Love Comes to Mockingbird Heights”, Uncle Gilbert sends the family 180,000 worth of gold doubloons from the old country for safekeeping until he arrives to visit. This inciting incident sets the plot in motion,...

Bottom line: This was an excellent episode that had character development aplenty and some genuinely unsettling moments.
Let's get my only issue with the instalment out of the way up-front: I was not a fan of how quickly the attack on Moose and Midge was rolled back. Last week's ending was shocking, and a call to arms that told viewers that anything could, and probably would, happen on this show. So for Moose and Midge to be as unscathed as they are given how dire things looked last week feels like a cop-out.

Bob Hastings, who voiced Commissioner Gordon on Batman: The Animated Series, as well as Clark Kent and Superboy in The Superman/Batman Hour and Superboy in the 1960's, has passed away. According to The Burbank Leader, Hastings died of pancreatic cancer, which he had been battling for the last 15 years. People like Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill get a lot of credit for voicing Batman and the Joker, respectively, but Hastings put his own iconic stamp on the character of Commissioner Gordon, which undoubtedly influenced the live action versions we've seen in various Batman films. Hastings lent his voice to a variety of voicework for decades. His credits include Batman: The Mystery of the Batwoman, Batman: The Rise of Sin Tzu videogame, Static Shock, Gotham Girls, Jak and Daxter, The New Batman Adventures, Superman, Batman: The Animated Series, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, Challenge of the SuperFriends, The Munsters,...

Superman may have caught the world’s imagination and helped make comic books an industry, but I wasn’t All That fond of him. I began reading comics about 25 years after his 1938 introduction (my first comic was actually a Green Lantern-Flash team-up), but I soon became a Marvel guy (or should I say a Disney/Marvel guy?), and if I had to have a favorite DC hero, it would have to be Batman. So, it’s kind of ironic that I became friends with Superman’s legendary comics editor Julie Schwartz in the 1980s, and no less than three ex-starlog Managing Editors (my protégés Eddie Berganza, Mike McAvennie, Maureen McTigue) ended up at DC Comics editing the Superman titles in the ’90s. So I sorta feel like a step-uncle, twice removed, to the Man of Steel. I had no effect on him, but my posse did.

Actor Bob Hastings is a television veteran. Yet, you are more likely to know his voice than his face. He has worked in many genres and featured in several innovative radio and television science fiction shows. His career took in the earliest days of TV entertainment and playing a regular character in acclaimed superhero cartoons from the 1990s. But it all began with a song.
"I think it was about 1935 or the beginning of 1936," Hastings said. "A teacher heard me sing in school at an assembly and he thought I sang well enough that I should be on radio. So I started singing radio shows and from there... There was a newspaper called 'The Daily Mirror' and they had a children's show on Wmca in New York and I sang on that...for maybe a couple of years. Then I went over to NBC and that was before the networks...
