- Was the voice of The Emperor in the National Public Radio adaptations of Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. These were broadcast in 1983 and 1996, long before either the prequels or the 2004 DVD release of the original trilogy. This makes him the first actor to play Palpatine in both Empire and Jedi - even before McDiarmid was placed in Empire.
