Nina Henderson Moore is President of Griot Productions, Inc. an
independent production company that develops, produces, consults, and
provides productions services for film, television, and digital
projects. Henderson Moore's career in programming and production began
as Vice President of BET Movies (now Starz in Black!), launching the
very first all-Black movie channel. She then started BET Pictures
serving as President and Chief Operating Officer. At BET Pictures, she
managed both original film production, and theatrical film acquisition
and distribution. She delivered 13 original made-for-TV movies, the
largest slate of African-American made-for-TV movies ever to be
produced. From 2001 through 2006, Moore was Executive Vice President
for BET News and Public Affairs, and the only African-American woman in
charge of a national news and public affairs programming division at a
major television network. Her team earned three NAACP Image Awards; a
Cable Positive Award; and saw substantial yearly audience growth for
