A graduate of Webster University in St. Louis, Phyllis Huffman briefly
worked as a flight attendant for Trans World Airlines before landing a
job in the casting departments of MGM and Paramount Pictures, where she
came under the wing of casting director Marion Dougherty. Phyllis then
went on to Warner Brothers where she eventually rose to the positions
of Director, Feature Film Casting, and Vice President, TV Casting.
Phyllis worked with Clint Eastwood on several of his films, starting
with "Honky Tonk Man" and including "Unforgiven" and "Million Dollar
Baby."
She worked as a casting director for over 26 years casting 21 pictures
with director Clint Eastwood.
She earned a Casting Society of America award for her work on the Oscar
nominated "Mystic River" and for casting the pilot of the hit TV series
"Murphy Brown".
