Steeltown Murders, a British crime series, depicts the notorious Llandarcy Murder case, which spanned three decades before reaching a resolution. The series faithfully presents the true events, with a primary focus on the extensive investigation conducted by the South Wales Police in the 1970s and its subsequent continuation thirty years later. However, the narrative takes a creative approach by exploring the experiences of the women who narrowly escaped the Saturday Night Strangler’s grasp but were left with enduring traumatic memories.

In the Sundance hit Nine Days, a serious, melancholy man interviews candidates in a nine-day process to pick one to be born, in a supernatural drama. Nine Days takes a different, more existential approach to a concept that has long fascinated Hollywood, movies about reincarnation, rebirth and other worldly characters watching over people on earth. Nine Days leaves any theological or philosophical interpretation of who, what or where these characters are up to the audience, only providing some basic information, and focuses on questions of humanity and life itself, an exploration it grounds in a real-world, contemporary situation, as candidates are put though an extended job interview in which souls are put through a series of tests to determine who gets to be born.

Thanksgiving is coming for the Reagan family, too -- but if their anticipation of the holiday wasn't tempered by crime concerns, it wouldn't be "Blue Bloods."
Maria (Marisa Ramirez) had a particularly rough time with family matters in "Bad Blood," Friday's (Nov. 22) episode of the CBS police drama written by co-executive producer Daniel Truly and directed by Robert Harmon, who also has worked with series star Tom Selleck on all but one of the "Jesse Stone" TV movies.
A murder investigation began for Maria and Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) outside a Spanish Harlem bar, but they soon went in to interrogate the very enthusiastic, soccer-watching patrons. They came up empty on suspects, until a security tape revealed someone Maria recognized (guest star Kirk Acevedo, "Oz") .
Danny and Maria went to find the man, nicknamed "Tic-Tac" -- and while chasing him, Maria made a side run at him, sending him through a store's glass door.

When reviewing movies, it's sometimes hard to judge them fairly by the mediums they were created for. For instance, to come down as hard on a TV-movie created on a small budget as you do a bigger one like the A Nightmare on Elm Street remake would be unjust. That's how I tried to look at Chiller's Dead Souls.

However, I was pleasantly surprised with Chiller’s original film Dead Souls (2012) based on the novel of the same name by Michael Laimo.
I’ll even go so far as to say that I had higher-than-usual expectations for this one and was pleased to see those expectations met. Exclusive: Oscar winner Tom Hanks is set as the on-camera host, historical commentator and narrator of Killing Lincoln, National Geographic Channel‘s two-hour historical thriller from Ridley and the late Tony Scott’s Scott Free Prods. It’s based on Bill O’Reilly best-selling book with co-author Martin Dugard that chronicles the conspiracy behind Lincoln’s assassination. Hanks joins director Adrian Moat (Gettysburg), Emmy-winning writer/executive producer Erik Jendresen (Band of Brothers) and producer Mark Herzog’s Herzog & Co. (Gettysburg) on the film, which combines drama with CGI — in the signature style of the Scott brothers — with rare historical archives. “The murder of Lincoln is not a passage of our history — it was a signpost of our American character, then, now and forever,” said Hanks, who has been involved in a number of historic TV projects including the HBO miniseries Band Of Brothers and The Pacific, which he exec produced,...

Recently Dread Central was lucky enough to travel to the quiet town of Canterbury, Connecticut, to visit the set of the upcoming Chiller original production Dead Souls. The film, scheduled to hit the television airwaves in October, was directed by Colin Theys and boasts the one and only Bill Moseley amongst the impressive cast.
Upon arriving at the set, one thing was abundantly clear: The production team that sought to find a location to be used as a haunted house was incredibly effective. The abandoned farmhouse used in Dead Souls was incredibly creepy. Add to that the fact that a scraggly bearded Bill Moseley was sitting on a rock outside the barn as you walked up the driveway, and the creep factor of this place goes through the roof!
Moseley spoke on working with the Dead Souls cast and crew. "They really know their stuff," Moseley said. "I think Colin [Theys] is a really cool director.

Gran TORINOby Mike Digiorgio, Writer You can’t honestly expect Clint Eastwood to go quietly. The auteur can’t make his last appearance without making some kind of statement. Film fans shouldn’t worry that Eastwood the filmmaker is going anywhere. We can have high hopes that we’ll get more films directed with the skill and finesse of Million Dollar Baby or Mystic River. But rumor has it the acting icon makes his last appearance onscreen in Gran Torino. In a way, this is Eastwood’s second goodbye. If you think of Eastwood the actor, two images will jump to mind. There’s the cowboy of the spaghetti westerns that Eastwood masterfully said goodbye to as an actor and director in Unforgiven. But I’d wager for most, the iconic image of Eastwood is a vigilante like Dirty Harry Callaghan, standing above us with gun aimed at our face,...

Chicago – With his second film in just a few months, Clint Eastwood makes one of his biggest missteps of his illustrious career as one of the more esteemed American directors in the history of the medium. Eastwood has made some undeniable masterpieces - “Mystic River”, “Million Dollar Baby”, “Unforgiven” - but he has been far from perfect, misfiring wildly with films like “Space Cowboys”, “The Rookie”, and “Pink Cadillac”. “Gran Torino” falls much closer to the latter category on Clint’s spectrum than the former.
Rating: 2.0/5.0 Eastwood stars in “Gran Torino” as Walt Kowalski, a bitter, cranky, snarling old man, who is mean to his priest, vicious to his family, and racist to everyone in his increasingly ethnic neighborhood. Walt could be Clint’s iconic ‘Dirty Harry’ character a few years down the road from when we last saw him and a bit more racist. (In fact, there were rumors...
