- Jack Humphrey was born on May 20, 1932 in St. Boniface, Manitoba, Canada. He was a writer and producer, known for Hangin' In (1981), King of Kensington (1975) and Silver Spoons (1982). He died on April 18, 1987 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
- With his wife Sidney, he had five children who all chose careers in the entertainment industry. Their son Mark Humphrey is an actor and musician; sons John and Andy Humphrey are professional musicians; and daughter Lesley is a former Ford model who works as a stage manager. Their son, Paul Humphrey (1959-2021), was the lead singer of the New Wave Canadian band Blue Peter in the early 1980s.
