Recently, The CW delivered up the new, official spoilers/synopsis for their upcoming "The Originals" episode 3 of season 4 and it sounds extremely intense and drama-filled as an evil witch is looking to kill a bunch of kids. Hayley and Freya get into some huge argument that Elijah has to break up and more! The episode is entitled: "Haunter of Ruins." According to their official description, we're going to see Klaus attempt to reconnect with his daughter Hope after five long years of being away from her. Despite this reuniting, they tell us that there is still going to be a ton of turmoil going on with the Mikaelson family, so that definitely doesn't sound good at all. Next, we learn that we're going to see some major drama going on between Freya and Hayley at some point as they tell us that Elijah is going to have to step in to mediate it!

According to Satanic, Hell isn’t a place you visit. As screenwriter Anthony Jaswinski pens, Hell is described as a “beautiful confusion.” Yet after watching this devil-worshipping shitshow, I’ve come up with my own definition of Hell. It’s a horror movie where all the action happens off-camera, continuity means squat, and the budget costs less than four General Admission tickets to Coachella. That’s any horror fan’s true Hell, which I found myself living out for an hour-and-twenty-something minutes while director Jeffrey G. Hunt attempted to recreate a slice of La’s “Satanic Panic.”
Spoiler Alert: He doesn’t.
Sarah Hyland stars as a Coachella-bound spring breaker (Chloe) who stops off in Los Angeles for a quick 2-day tour into the dark world of occult practices. This isn’t Chloe’s idea, though. Her cousin Elise (Clara Mamet) demands the other-worldly pitstop, so Chloe agrees despite her...

I'm a total sucker for movies about cults, satanic rituals and pretty much anything the deals with the occult. It's a left-over soft spot from my teenage years which I just can't seem to shake and once in a while, I feel the need to scratch the itch – especially when a little movie comes along that seems to do a fairly good job of the material. Satanic could well be the scratch.
Directed by long time TV director Jeffrey G. Hunt and staring a collection of familiar faces – though I'd be hard pressed to tell you exactly where I've seen any of them beyond Steven Krueger (he is/was a regular on "The Originals") and Justin Chon (ahem - Twilight - I'll pretend I didn't just admit to that...) - Satanic follows a group of friends who, on their way to Coachella [Continued ...]...

Gotham, Season 2, Episode 11, “Worse Than A Crime”
Written by Bruno Heller
Directed by Jeffrey Hunt
Airs Mondays at 8pm (Et) on Fox
The midseason finale closes off the Galavan arc with a bang and kicks the doors wide open for a second half of season two that will take the Rise of the Villains to the next level. The season has been building up to Galavan and his family getting their revenge on Gotham City through the ritual killing of Bruce Wayne, bringing us this week to a fatal showdown between Galavan and a motley crew of police detectives, a crime kingpin, a military trained butler, and a street smart cat burglar, all of whom come to Wayne’s rescue. It’s like watching a western, where a group of lawless rogues unite forces against one common enemy, Theo Galavan.

There's a surprisingly well-directed interrogation scene on last night’s Gotham. James Gordon sits ex-fiancée Barbara Kean down for a one-on-one conversation. Their dialogue — scripted by episode writer Jim Barnes — is full of cliches, but this sequence is also genuinely stylish and well-paced. You can feel the passage of time through relatively long reaction shots that precede characters' admittedly lousy rejoinders (you know you're in trouble when "It must be killing you, all that righteous indignation with nowhere to go" is what passes for thoughtfully provocative banter). Viewers can similarly feel time passing thanks to the omnipresent buzzing of the overhead halogen bulb, the only apparent source of lighting in the scene (the characters both wear black, and appear to melt into the room's engulfing shadows). These images, and the sheer storytelling craft here — all due praise for episode director Jeffrey Hunt —is engrossing enough that you can zone...

Gotham, Season 2, Episode 8, “Tonight’s the Night”
Written by Jim Barnes
Directed by Jeffrey Hunt
Airs Mondays at 8pm (Et) on Fox
Following the closing moments of “Mommy’s Little Monster”, Gordon had put the pieces together that Galavan was, in fact, responsible for the chaos that Gotham had endured in recent months, a reveal which then forced Galavan to move forward with his plans to convince Bruce to hand over Wayne Enterprises and to activate Barbara to take out Gordon. Throughout the season it has been clear that Galavan had been reluctant to kill Gordon up until now; part of it is explained as him not wanting to upset Bruce before making his plea for Wayne Enterprises and the other part is that he was saving him for Barbara. Finally, today is the day that Barbara is unleashed and her showdown with Gordon is as fun as is to be expected.

Locked away from society in an apartment on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, the Angulo brothers learn about the outside world through the films that they watch. Nicknamed the Wolfpack, the brothers spend their childhood re-enacting their favorite films using elaborate homemade props and costumes. With no friends and living on welfare, they feed their curiosity, creativity, and imagination with film, which allows them to escape from their feelings of isolation and loneliness. Everything changes when one of the brothers escapes, and the power dynamics in the house are transformed. The Wolfpack must learn how to integrate into society without disbanding the brotherhood.

Cast:: Guy Pearce, Cobie Smulders, Kevin Corrigan, Giovanni Ribisi, Anthony Michael Hall, Brooklyn Decker
Recently divorced, newly rich, and utterly miserable, Danny (Kevin Corrigan) would seem to be the perfect test subject for a definitive look at the relationship between money and happiness. Danny’s well-funded boredom is interrupted by a momentous trip to the local gym, where he meets self-styled guru/owner Trevor (Guy Pearce) and abrasive yet irresistable trainer Kat (Cobie Smulders). Soon their three lives become intertwined, both professionally and personally.
"Tangerine"
Directed by Sean Baker ("Starlet")

Their rip-roaring odyssey leads them through various subcultures of Los Angeles, including an Armenian family dealing with their own repercussions of infidelity.
Executive produced by Mark and Jay Duplass
"Satanic" (In Production)
Directed by Jeff Hunt ("Fringe," "CSI," "Person of Interest")

"Satanic" follows a group of college students visiting sites from Los Angeles’ “Satanic Panic” era. They follow the creepy owner of an occult store home, only to find themselves saving a suspicious girl from an apparent human sacrifice. Only this “victim” turns out to be much more dangerous than the cult from which she escaped.
"Best of Enemies"
Directed by Morgan Neville ("20 Feet from Stardom") and Robert Gordon
Featuring Gore Vidal and William F. Buckley, Jr.
In 1968 ABC hired two towering public intellectuals to debate each other during the Democratic and Republican national conventions - William F. Buckley, Jr. and Gore Vidal. Like rounds in a heavyweight battle, they pummeled out policy and personal insult—cementing their opposing political positions. Their explosive exchanges devolved into vitriolic name-calling. It was unlike anything TV had ever broadcast, and all the more shocking because it was live and unscripted.
"The Wrecking Crew"
Directed by Denny Tedesco
Featuring Interviews with: Cher, Dick Clark, Brian Wilson, Nancy Sinatra
Six years in a row in the 1960’s and early 1970’s, the Grammy for “Record of the Year” went to Wrecking Crew recordings. The film tells the story of the unsung musicians that provided the backbeat, the bottom and the swinging melody that drove many of the number one hits of the 1960’s. It didn’t matter if it was Nat “King” Cole, Frank Sinatra, Nancy Sinatra, The Monkees, The Byrds or The Beach Boys, these dedicated musicians brought the flair and musicianship that made the American “west coast sound” a dominant cultural force around the world.
"Iris"
Directed by Albert Maysles ("Grey Gardens," "Gimme Shelter")
Produced by Laura Coxson, Rebekah Maysles and Jennifer Ash Rudick
Iris pairs legendary documentary filmmaker Albert Maysles with Iris Apfel, the quick-witted, flamboyantly dressed 93-year-old style maven who has had an outsized presence on the New York fashion scene for decades. More than a fashion film, the documentary is a story about creativity and how, even at Iris’ advanced age, a soaring free spirit continues to inspire.

Tonight’s episode of Gotham was, undoubtedly, the series’ most important for one simple reason: the introduction of the Joker. The iconic Clown Prince of Crime is so beloved by fans and so important to the Batman mythos that if Gotham botched it, it would have dealt quite the blow to longtime Bat supporters and forever sealed its fate in their minds. I say this with confidence because I’m one of the people who considered giving up on the series entirely if “The Blind Fortune Teller” dropped the ball on this important character.
I’m honestly surprised, but relieved, to say that that’s not the case, and that Gotham showrunner Bruno Heller (who wrote this week’s script), and episode director Jeffrey G. Hunt absolutely nailed the Joker introduction and have, for the time being, won back quite a bit of goodwill from yours truly.
